How long does the paper take to dry before adding another layer? Also I’ll be making a big jack skellington out of pvc and I’ll do this for his head, will it be okay if it rains after I’ve sealed his head with sealant?

I am getting ready to redo my air dry clay Jack head that I had a styrofoam ball as a base... am i able to layer this over the foam or does it have to be over paper mache? Any help is appreciated... i was going to just air dry clay again but it cracked so bad!!

Hi I'm so happy that your videos are back up!! And I've followed your tutorials to a T, but mine always get moldy after a few months and I'm not sure why... would me living in Texas and having hot weather along with the rain and moisture ect... Could that be it? Idk what else to do... I have to remake jack,Sally and zero every year... I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... Could you help!!

Such a bummer! I'm sorry to hear that. It's probably nothing you are doing, but just the climate you live in. We barely have rain here in California, so I'm not exactly sure how to weather proof for Texas weather. Maybe it will require some other type of clay (not water based)?

I made a Jack Skellington using 224Boothy's tutorials a few years ago for a children's charity event and it came out great. I did make a little change to the recipe though. I did not use flour though, I used plaster of paris instead. I also use Clear coat Flex Seal, 4 coats at completion. I had sent Jack back east to my sister in Philly area and she puts him outside and he has held up the last 2 years in all weather situations. I instructed her to re-seal him with the same clear coat Flex Seal and she does. Hope this helps.

@@jokael hi! thank you for replying back! and i apologize for not commenting back sooner, so instead of 3 cups flour use plaster of paris instead??

@@wintergirl_93 Yes that's what I've been using. You won't have to worry about mold and it is more durable.

Is this weatherproof? As in rain lol

The clay and paste alone are not waterproof. You have to paint your finished product with some weatherproof sealant after.
