Read asumption made in eulers column theory it says load applied is compressive axially only and we know column are said to be column when it placed vertically at its longitudinal axis ,axial loads are only acting(which are vertical in column) according to euler theory. so no role of horizontal components of load / forces

@@TECHNICALCLASSES_TC it was a GATE 2007 question. I saw the solution yesterday😁. It simply says to take moment about the hinged end. Then if x is the horizontal displacement of spring end of column, then there will be x deformation in spring and hence restoration force equal to Kx. So (Kx)L =Pcr×x....which gives Pcr=1.0KL....😉😁 Thanks for replying😁
