Happy owner of the exact same Pro Junior IV as the one demoed here. I'm no technitian though, as a gigging guitarist, I can say I have been using mine intensively for the past three years without any issue whatsoever, totally replacing my other more expensive amps, such as Fender 65 Princeton Reverb Ri and Vox AC15 handwired with Alnico Blue speaker. Totally reliable amp so far.

Yeah, that’s an amp I’ve considered many times. Affordable, straight forward approach and looks so cool! But to be honest I think every smaller tube amp in Fender’s catalogue below the 65 Princeton reissue (which I own) in terms of price has certain drawbacks for me that keep me away. Love the look of the Pro Jr, but the 68 Vibro Champ is probably the best candidate for me if I were to add another smaller Fender.

    • @Nightwinflyer
      @Nightwinflyer 5 месяцев назад +1

The 007 is great, pretty much a mini Marshall. It is class A and no FX loop. I would say it is like the mid channel of the 15 but does overlap into the cleans and then more gain at the top end. But very close. I never use the FX loop on the 15, even later models still has something wonky going on. Otherwise, both great amps for me.

I got mine used for a few hundred bucks cheaper than new. Have it running with a Tone King Mini Attenuator. I was on the fence with this amp until I got the attenuator. Now I love it. It sounds amazing totally maxed out with volume, then dial in the tone based on the what you're looking for and the guitar you're using. It has such a pleasant, saturated overdrive. If I use a really high output humbuckers, like an Invader, it legit sounds like I'm using a big muff except I can back off with the attack or volume and clean it up. I'm sure I'll get another amp because I like to waste money, but this thing is amazing. It's pretty much great for anything but metal.

Half the price of the new Gibson Falcon 5 watt and with the Les Paul delivers some really really nice fat classic rock style dirt.
Off course the Gibson / Falcon - Mesa is built here in the US,..LoL!
I like the amp with a Les Paul and I think as long as youve got either humbuckers or p-90s you can have a lot of fun with it.
The Strat, however is another matter.
The single coils were , atleast in this demo,.thin, weak, lacking in color and,.. and ,.I dont know,.just really "uninspiring" is all i can think of typing LoL!
I want to say that,..with the Strat it literally sounded like the worst type of modeling amp, but this is just one demo-example of playing.
Although i suspect that .this amp might benefit greatly from adding reverb and a slightly bigger speaker
I am going to check out some more vids with it before i put it on my "buy list" .I now John Segeborn did a video with it a couple years back.

Looking at this, a Blues Jr. IV and a Vox AC10. Played these in the store--was surprised that Pro Jr. had headroom and mojo. Actually, all three sounded good. The Blues Jr. IV seems like a safe, but neutral choice. The VoxAC10 surprised me--easy to get good sounds, but this had the mojo. I need a small, flexible amps for roots rock/blues/billy gigs, but also something that I can use for church gigs (and effects--church gigs need lots of pedals, heh heh--like U2 dotted 8s). Would this handle both? I'm actually satisfied it has volume and mojo, but I've fooled myself in the store in the past.

Depends what clean you want and the room (that makes a difference to the EQ settings) I've had most of the small fender tube amps and Champion 40 since they came out. It's pretty good with the blackface settings. The first one is modelled on the twin reverb...too clean for me. Second is the deluxe... Definitely my favourite. Third is the Princeton which I find cuts through better in some situations when jamming with friends. There's no one setting that works in all situations. Best value amp around for covering a range of sounds IMO. PS my old pro junior was really noisy... Buzz, hum. Got quite annoying.

@@JackFossettMy first comment was rude. I apologize. Let me put it less harshly. I think the Pro Junior is probably too loud for home use and not loud enough for playing with a band. I'm not a proponent of very loud music, but an amp for performance has got to keep up with a drummer. For home use a master volume or attenuated output design is important. So this amp doesn't seem to suit either situation.

@@charleshuguley9323 oh no worries, that wasn’t rude - blunt maybe, but not rude. You should see the comments on the Epiphone video I just did. Many of those are in serious need of some manners 😬

Not here to make more than musical waves, however, I feel compelled to make you aware, lest you had forgotten in the mad rush of life-on-earth: you choose to go by the moniker “Fenderonly” (I have no idea to what the number “2746” may mean.)
Beyond @JackFossett reminding us of the video’s title, ergo Fender-to-Fender, which would appear self-evident, yer selling out your screen-name, brother.
(I think Supra’s are awesome, by the way. Just having Sunday-with-beers RUclips fun.)
Hope all is well in all corners, folks! 🙏🏽✌🏽💙 from Minnesota

I agree. I've been through two PJ IVs in the last few years - all of them are noisy - in three different houses including my current home which has dedicated outlets for my amps

I got one this week from Reverb. What do I win?!! 🥲 🙂 (About it being loud enough with a drummer, couldn't you put towels on top of the drum heads, or use rubber drumsticks? 🥲)

You could put your amp on a chair like Rory Gallagher
