- Reading & Northern 4-6-2 Pacific type #425 and the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society's Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 Berkshire type #765 salute each other with their whistles as the 765 charges towards Pittston.
765 Was Using Nathan 6 Chime & 425 Was Using A B&O 3 Chime. If anyone was wondering
425 may have the louder whistle but 765 has the deeper one.
both whistles are equally loud, the video was recorded closer to 425
Why must we call it a whistle war? They're just two old friends chatting ;)
Just imagine 2102 and 765 doing this now that 2102 is back under steam
1:03 sounds like 765's 2012 whistle
It would be awesome if 425 doubleheads with 765 in the future. Who agrees with me?
Thank you for sharing this! I had heard from the Twitter account during our trip that there was indeed a Whistle Salute on the way to Pittston, but I never found any video of it (and didn't hear it too well due to being on the train that day) I have to ask, do you know the exact time or timeframe it happened that day? I want to see if I have video of it while I was on the train. Thanks!!
R&N saying nickel plate road 😊😊💙
765 Won Hands Down
425 was better at blowing though. Seems like they had more experience
Why? Because she's bigger?
@@kackdackel9170 no, is the whistle cord and how the engineer pulls on the cord
765 won whistle battle
