Another reason to use Lr Cc. Lately what has kept me with Lr classic has been easy access to the Ps tools I use; especially the new AI tools. This really opens up the cloud version.
Yup, and I suspect that it’s only going to get easier and more functional. I believe that Adobe is far more interested in building out LR than Classic. Not saying that they’d nuke Classic any time soon, but it’s not easy (and it is costly) to have to manage two product lines that do basically the same thing.
Hey Brian, another brilliant tutorial, and guess what I tried it out on one of my photos this day 8/10 in my phone. Amazing and i can upload it to my social media Photography site. The things you can do on the fly am so happy. Thanks again.
Hey Brian, Unconfuse me. The Desktop LRC workflow entails opening an image in PS Beta. Using the Generative Fill feature to ad or remove and then the image is saved back to LRC. This automatic round trip ensures that the new file is saved alongside the original. I am uncertain whether LR can interact with PS Beta in the same manner as LRC does and as such requires using Firefly. While utilizing the LRC/PS Beta combination, any edited files will not be automatically accessible on my iPhone or iPad unless they are part of a synchronized collection. Nevertheless, if I am editing a photo within a synced collection, the round trip process guarantees that I will also have access to it on my iPhone. Regarding the LR/Firefly process, is it achievable on Safari, or must I install Chrome?"🤔
You're pretty much correct, Ron. LR can send photos to PS, but only the production version. As far as I can tell, there is no way to tell LR to send photos to PS Beta. Now, that's really only going to be an issue until Max, when I'd wager that Gen Fill will be added to the production version of PS, at which point LR will be able to replicate the workflow you outlined with LRC. As for my mobile LR/Firefly process, you can absolutely use Safari. I only used Chrome because that was the browser on my home screen at the time.
Can you please answer the question. Does Apple iPad Air 3 model support latest Lightroom mobile update like Lens Blur or Generative ai functions . Because i updated to latest version but i can’t find this functions ? If not supported i would like to know why ? 3GB Ram is not enough or A12 Bionic chip is not powerful enough? Or both at the same time ?
Great video / tutorial. Is this type of content included in your Lr Everywhere course? Does the course get updated as new features are added to Lr? I’m considering purchasing it for two reasons: 1) Your teaching style and 2) I thought I knew Lr but watching your channel has made me realize how much more there is to Lr!
Thanks so much for the kind words and interest in my Lightroom Everywhere course, Dave! I don’t cover anything about Generative Fill in the course, but there is tons of content on how to use LR on desktop and mobile devices. And I do update the course as new features are added. It has been updated three times already. 😁
@@brianmatiash Thanks for the reply. One more question before I hit the “Buy” button…Does lifetime access to the Lightroom Everywhere course include future course updates?
Hi, Brian. I hope you answer questions. Your videos are terrific and I watch them all. I signed up for the paid version of firefly and it is wonderful. I have one problem however. When I upload, I do not get the option that you get to upload at actual size so I am getting low resolution images back.. what am I doing wrong? Thanks and keep those lessons coming!
My pleasure, Martin. Are you asking whether you can apply generative fill to an image using PS for iOS? If so, then that is not currently possible… at least not as far as I can tell. For now, it seems that we’re limited to the web app (which is plenty capable for these purposes).
Hey Brian, any workaround with the fact that firefly exports at max 2k x 2k resolution? Is quite frustrating to import HD images and have low quality exports. Thanks.
I think it is a matter of time when Adobe creates separate Firefly app and avoid all the confusion. AI info should be engraved in meta of the jpg so we can separate AI involvment in the future.
A separate app would still require exporting a copy of an image from Lightroom (assuming we're using the same workflow). The app would just replace having to go to the Firefly website. Also, why does AI manipulation have to get engraved, but not any other kind of editing or manipulation? If I swap a sky using a layer mask, should I have to include that in the metadata? What about if I apply a tone curve adjustment? What if I use the healing brush to remove dust spots or a random person in my scene? I get why Adobe is doing it at this stage with Firefly, but I don't think I'd be so quick to call for any sort of mandatory enforcement of transparency for personal use, which is currently the only way you are allowed to use Firefly per Adobe's terms.
Sorry, have no iPhone nor iPad, I have an Android and I'm very satisfied with it. I wonder why you only speak about those apps while so many rely on Android. For me, that's s a bummer and a reason why I will not buy the new course.
I would think it'd be more concerning for someone to teach something using a platform or OS that they're unfamiliar with. In my case, I don't own Android or Windows devices, which I clearly indicate on the course product page. I also indicate that virtually everything I cover in the course should work with Android and Windows. I have absolutely nothing against either Android or Windows. It's just that I've been an Apple user for as long as I can remember. Nothing about the course or this video should make you feel singled out. Speaking of this video, I am certain that Adobe has an Android version of Lightroom and that you have Chrome installed on your mobile device. Given those two facts, you can follow this workflow 100% without issue, assuming that you have a valid Adobe CC account. So, please help me understand what the actual problem is?
@@brianmatiash You certainly have a point. As I follow your videos on RUclips, it sometimes happens that the Apple and Android versions differ, for example, are housed in different menus. Of course, I understand that you exercise all due care and my comment is therefore only the statement of a fact and not an annoying comment towards you. I love your videos and after some trying I can do a lot with them, but it's still difficult, also considering that English is not my native language. I'll watch some more videos and see if it's not too bad to order the video.
If it becomes a standard tool in both Classic and Mobile, absolutely. The workaround while an option, I don't see using it as often as I might if it were native to Classic and Mobile.
I absolutely love how you keep everything so simple and easy to follow! Thank you for the amazing content!
That's very kind of you to write - thank you so much!

Right?! It’s pretty amazing stuff!

Brilliant thanks. Could one use iOS Photoshop to perform the removal? Must confess I haven't experimented with this.

No worries at all. I’m here to help!
Thanks for the tip.....
Sweet, though I am hoping that Adobe will make GF a part of LR in an upcoming update soon. Still, not a bad workaround solution for the time being.
Agreed. It would be nice to not have to go to PS just for GF.
Hello
Could I save a PNG file on iPad using Photoshop? I try to searching on RUclips but I couldn't see any this question
Hey Brian, any workaround with the fact that firefly exports at max 2k x 2k resolution? Is quite frustrating to import HD images and have low quality exports. Thanks.
Works well, but it won’t give me the option to upload to Firefly in full resolution… shrinks the file to 3mbs.
Why to crop just open original photo in photoshop and this one and mask bottom part
Is there a way to stop it from lowering the quality when saving to photos
