Skyjay's ability blows me away with incineror. It doesn't make sense. He's out here beating (or nearly) top players that use close to, if not, top tier characters. He's connected spiritually with incineror. Lol
Every other smash character: *Can you do -* spacing, shield pressure, short hop, grab/attack/dodge as rock/paper/scissors, 2-frame, RaR, DACUS, low-percent combos, securing kills at high percent Ridley, Ganondorf, Incineroar: *Can you do -* this move that does 35% in exactly one hit box, DI out of combos, bait and punish, shield dashing. (Edit: oh look, they’re the worst 3 characters in the game… I wonder who else plays like thi- Zelda. Players are too impatient to play these powerful gems.) That’s it. That’s all they do. Their fundamentals are less in number but they are the hardest ones. Oh, and for the record - Ridley isn’t a multi jump, floaty style heavyweight. He is just *Big Jigglypuff With A Knife*.
I mean, all of these players are around the same level. They all have insane knowledge of their characters. The problem with a character like Incineroar who gets underplayed is that you have to solve a lot of their meta by yourself. I think Incineroar has the basic tools you need to win in this game, but recovery is really tricky. At least it is not as bad as Chrom's.
It’s also the fact that he’s a different breed of incineroar. He knows matchups incredibly well. Like look at his set vs fatality from a while back. He landing Baird his shield but lands behind him to avoid falcons out of shield options
16:39 that's tough for skyjay. He went for side b since it covered ledge roll, standard getup, and getup attack and Gluttony just choose the only option that beat that which was jump. If he went for bair, he would have won or maybe even nair or fair could have killed at that point. Skyjay just lost the coin flip aganist Gluttony but great match still. really close there that came down to the wire.
@@ahgottemggs438 Totally agree. Both knew he was looking for it, and I'm surprised Skyjay actually did it. Having that a threat is just way stronger than actually doing it.
Honestly the Side B wasn't even a bad option, if he waited just like a quarter of a second longer to do the side b, it would have caught Gluto and would have been game. Definitely overcommited there for the high risk high reward but that's just how it goes, really entertaining set tho
Glutonny traded way too much with Incineroar. If you're trading with him, you're losing big time in terms of percentage, and Incineroar only needs a few good hits each stock (12:46). As an example on trading, when Gluto opted for upthrow nair instead of upthrow upair at 14:55, nair2 wasn't true and he traded with Incineroar upair. Incineroar LOVES to trade a 12% upair with a 6% Wario nair. Since Incineroar has great frame data and since he gets such high value off reversals / escape options (frame 3 revenge / frame 5 invincible lariat, and just any stray hit will do big damage), I think you need to keep the combos simple and true.
Fun fact about super heavies that is relevant: They recover a few frames faster from attacks that don't send you into tumble. That makes untrue strings more dangerous against Incineroar because he has Nair/DL at frame 5, Revenge at frame 3 and Cross Chop armor on frame 4 for combo breaking.
@@leifpeterson4850 The Side b absolutely would have killed, Wario was at 115 at the ledge lol. If Skyjay waited just a quarter to half second longer, he actually would have caught Gluto and won the set, pretty crazy tho
@@johanruiz3422 true! But I also feel like there's quite a few people who got spooned into elite especially lately. I shouldn't be getting multiple 3 stocks on people without gimp kills
Skyjay doesn't even play Incineroar the way the char is intended to be played. He uses way too few specials. If he played a different character he'd indubitably be a top threat in Mexico. He plays like he'd be a great Mario or Mii Brawler.
LOOOOL Incineroar has some of the laggiest specials in the game. Every single one has almost a full second of end lag. His normals on the other hand are well above average. Learning to play Incineroar without spamming his specials is how he is meant to be played. Sit down. You have no idea what you're talking about. He already is one of the top players in Mexico
@@TyphonCH (1) By your logic, Shulk just straight up shouldn't be played by anyone because his moves are all laggy. Lag is a balance mechanic, same as range and damage. (2) I never said "spam" the specials. There's a large gap between how little Skyjay uses them and some wifi shitter spamming revenge into Alolan whip. (3) If he picked up a character that fit how he wants to play the game, he would be on par with Chag and Maister. Right now he's like Javi-Waka area. Not a top threat, as I said.

I think it would have whiffed ledge roll with that timing
Wario was already in the air when he activated it. It was a big mistake.

Tech wasn’t possible, he just BARELY missed wall collision
He could have DI in and tech, but as Esam explained, you can't change DI with kill screen, that was a marvelous interaction i gotta say

Thank you! That explains why my low percent strings get reversal'd by Incin and Bowser
Why does this video have an ad every 45 seconds
Skyjay creo que le faltó hacer más uso del down B. Aunque no sé si Glutonny fue muy rápido y no le dió tiempo a hacerlo
An ad every minute... Are we jokes to you?
Literally down to the last hit. Could have gone anyway, but like some comments state Skyjay lost that coin flip
Skyjay is my hero
One thing i hate is incineroar users spamming side b, skyjay doesn’t depend too heavily on the move but that side b at the end was the culprit there
