Hot take: Master league is a place where ridiculously strong legendaries should be able to battle eachother at nutso power levels. We have premier cup for the normal pokemon - which I'd love to see available more often.
I agree that legendaries should be able to battle at full power, with good movesets in the Master League, but I think what is being alluded to in this video is that some non-legendary pokemon are purposely given non-competitive movesets because if they were given decent moves then they actually could compete with the legendaries. Of course, he mentions Ursaluna, which could be top meta, even among legendaries, if it was given shadow claw, which its pre-evolution learns, but there are many other pseudo-legendary mons and some regular mons, like Rhyperior, which could be competitive with better moves. It wasn't so long ago that Hisuian Avalugg was seeing play on some ML teams. There are many good options; it just feels like a lot are intentionally held back so that people continue to buy lots of raid passes.
@@erickauppinen2157 well obviously they are just going to push out the raid passes. That’s what makes them money and at the end of the day they’re just a company, they’re going to do what makes them the most profit. Specially with idiots like me that did over 300 necrozma raids. I think other legendarys should have a play in PvP like Rayquaza, Deoxys or Latios. Hate that some are just for PvE (raids)
this would be a good take if the master league wasnt dictated and set around a small handful of legendaries . ever since lando with sandsear storm its been terrible

@@hamedsafi7715 Surely, Sandsear will get nerfed. It’s worse than Breaking Swipe ever was. My hot take was that Breaking Swipe never needed to be nerfed and it was a huge overreaction to try to nerf Steelix when water types were about to make a huge comeback with Greninja and Poliwrath coming around the corner.
Kinda miss when old ML, at least pre Sandsear Storm. I really hate Landorus-T, because since it's part flying it invalidates other ground types. Like, running Rhyperior or Groudon is so hard because of Lando. Main ground types rn are Landorus-T and Zygarde-C.
Dragonite also used to be really good, but it's pretty hard to use because Palkia-O. Palkia just farms it down in shielded scenarios.
Best non legendary right now, imo, is Hisuian Avalugg. But of course that mon is only in raids, and hasn't been in raids for months.
Really hope some non legendary ML mons get buffed. Ursaluna with Counter or a Rock Smash buff. Garchomp with Dragon Claw/Breaking Swipe OR a Sand Tomb buff. Gholdengo with Metal Sound (if Metal Sound gets buffed).
For Tyranitar, I'd rather them not buff Smack down but instead, Bite. Either make it 4 damage and 3 energy (Same as Dragon Breath) or nerf the damage from 4 to 3 and buff the energy to 3. So 3 damage and 3 energy (Water Gun clone).
TLDR: Buff some non legendary mons, just give Ursaluna Counter or Shadow Claw FINALLY.
Shadow dragonite gets one shot by a stone edge from landorus. Normal dragonite survives the stone edge and forces landorus to go for a sandsear storme to nock out.
More helpful comment: Play Beldum Community Day Classic on Sunday so we can defeat Xerneas more easily, in about 10 days when it returns to raids.
Kings Gambit is coming and that's a non-legendary answer to the Necrozmas. And Ursaluna is one move update away from doing the same
I've been using quick attack Ursaluna , it's OK can't decide between Ice Punch , Fire Punch , Thunder Punch 😵💫😵💫😵💫

@@raider_reaper_4194You mean tackle? Honestly I wish Ursaluna learned quick attack at least so it could have some energy generation (it doesn’t learn it in the main series unfortunately). That said, I feel like lick is such an obvious move the fact it doesn’t have it yet feels like intentional sabotage. I wouldn’t give it shadow claw cause that’d almost certainly make it completely broken and require finally nerfing shadow claw.

I maxed a shadow pokemon for the first time in this rotation as well (my 15/14/15 Excadrill). Paired it with my hundo dragonite as the lead and rhyperior as the safe swap. Honestly, my greatest enemy was lag and fps drops -.-'

Why didn’t you use hisuain avalugg? It’s defo the best non legendary imo, you could also try running Bewear, as it’s the hardest answer to dawn wings
snorlax is a good answer to dawn wings while still doing good against the rest of the meta.

I’ve had some limited success with gyarados, can handle palkia, landorous, and ho-oh and can still hit the necrozmas for super effective with crunch. Usually have to invest shield in those match ups tho
I’d love to see a cup that mimics the main series game letting you auto-level mons to 50 and only bring 1 legendary.
Or adding in a 3500 cp and under cup would be great.
No H-Avalugg? Might be tough to build a team supporting it with only non-legendaries, but easily a good focus. Hoping for a Gholdengo buff though, definitely has potential
I personally use non legendaries pretty often and I do win on fully legend teams. I've been positive sets running shadow chomp, shadow gardevoir and skeledirge. I swap out gard for giratina o but you can still win for sure!
ML is the league I always prioritize my play and my dust towards; I have a lot of level 50 legendaries I use, and occasionally use non legendaries as well. However, the thing that makes great league so boring and undesireable to me has now happened to master league. It's a very compact meta and your team composition has to be based solely on "how do I counter X Y Z?" It didn't used to be like that and it's highly annoying. Need a serious nerf to mudshot or sandsear storm and need to be able to elite TM roar and spacial on our mons
a good safeswap could be alolan muk for the dnite and another dark type in the back
My master league go to team consists of 98%dragonite in the lead. 96%haxorus as the safe swap with counter-dark pulse-breaking swipe and 98%metagross. Only haxorus isn't lvl50. But this team I've used for the last 3 seasons. It does really well for me but a togekiss will destroy my team if it's the lead mon against me.
I think they should bring master premier at the same time as open master league. My friends have started playing Pokemon Go and trying to get into GBL. First thing I said to them is just keep away from master league, it's so unachievable these days with the remote raid pass change but they can build no legendary pokemon from the community days.
I personally have most of the top legendaries, feel like it was actually a good investment doing the remote raids pre the remote raid change

I’d love to see them turn Belly Drum into a psycho cut clone and give it to snorlax and ursaluna
Gyarados lead seems better than Dragonite. Can deal with palkia, landorus or necrozma. You also need better backline, rhyperior hasn't been good since the nerf on breaking swipe. Snorlax good with proper alignment but loses most neutral matches.
So, I can continue not even considering even playing Master League. Got it-thanks.
Something that I'd love to see but think is extremely unlikely would be cups with 4000 cp limit.. Still some level xl legendaries, but mostly only part of the way powered up and some would even have to stay just under 40.. Most pseudos would also only get to around 45, but other non legendaries for the most part would become much more viable at 50

the meta is so bad for master league felt like there was so much variety pre lando buff with sandsear storm the ground/flying subtyping with great coverage with stone edge and only weak to water and ice which are terrible mons outside palkia-o is OP. kyogre is good but so alignment dependent feels so risky to use in this meta i used to have fun using mine and other mons like zekron, raquaza, groudon all pretty useless to use. non legendaries i like to run gyrados, dragonite, ttar, and magnazone for some extra spice. yvetal would be a good pokemon if it could have a better fast move and get a better dark type charge attack
I’ve been having fun with my shiny shadow metagross as lead and perfect shadow seasler and perfect shadow dragonite
I think it’s to a point where something has to change there is already very little viability for having one non-legendary Pokemon in ML even worse a full team. The biggest reason is the new exclusive moves just do way too much damage for them to handle. I feel like the only way to solve this is to always have ML premier or create ML Remix to always be an option to open ML. If we think about it this problem is only going to get worse with B/W Kyerum, crown form Zacian/Zamazenta, paradox Pokemon, and whatever forms xerneas and yveltal get. The other thing I’d like to see is moves added that impact speed or move turns so some Pokemon could raise the amount of turns their opponents fast move takes. I’d also like to see the switch clock be played with maybe shortening it for some cups and even limiting it to only 3 switches at any time for some

I honestly wish Master League was far more accessible to F2P players. I would love to run legendaries but almost all legendaries are only viable in master league.

I lost to a Garydos Tyranitar Gigalith team. I think it might be worth trying out with super power'/com day gigalith and both had smack down I tried it out and faced a magnezone but only had 2 battles left. Waiting for tomorrow. It was after I dropped elo because IM STUMPED.
That was absurd how you threw like 5+ Breaking Swipes in this video and didn’t see a single debuff.
They should never had giving Steelix that move...
@@Denizozzzy003 breaking swipe feels like a cool legacy move for Rayquaza, but giving it to another dragon (Haxorus) is okay-ish but then 3 other non-dragon type pokemon is dumb.
Like Rhyperior already had legacy Rock Wrecker that only it has, so why give it Breaking Swipe too when it’s got Surf/Superpower coverage moves
@GGDAWG7 cus giving it to other non dragons with less bulk which helps them with move coverage and giving them more of a chance to live. Even in the main games does this.
Like look at electric Squirrel and the electric toad. They only have electric moves if you give them move covers then helps them do more things then getting walled by a ground type.
@@Denizozzzy003 oh yeah I’m fine with Haxorus, it’s just like what you said though, giving it tanks that don’t need that. Rhyperior already had good coverage moves but BS makes it more comfortable against DNite so I’m also okay with it. Helioisk I suppose is understandable so it has a fighting chance against dragons, but Steelix already is a Swiss Army knife of debuff moves.
My main gripe then is it feels like a Rayquaza legacy move (Yeah it has Dragon Ascent but cmon it’s a legendary) and it was given out like candy. The nerf def feels like it hurt Ray the most because now there’s like no turning a Dialga matchup without the debuff.
I have a hundo shadow dragonight still working on leveling up but so much fun to play with

Imo opinion the issue isnt legendary pokemon..the issue is the XL candy rate....fix that and it makes ML more accessable as a whole
In my opinion master league is fine my team consists of 2 legedaries and 1 non legand snd its fine anyways otherwise legendaries would be useless as only terakion and ray are good for raids

It’s too hard to have level 50 pokemon double moves, ESPECIALLY legendaries. I basically just got all my pokemon level 40 and now I can’t use them.
I'm getting pretty tired of GBL. Hit legend every season from season 3 to season before last. The lag and RPS has become so bad I don't enjoy it anymore.
11:40 Solar beam from ho-oh does 139% damage to a rhyperior. Also, I have enough legendaries powered up to play Master League, but it just isn't fun anymore. In half a year the meta has gone from the most balanced (small but balanced) to a stale meta with zero creativity in team buildning.
Same for me i have a total of 22 000 battels

Depends on your rank. I’m currently around 2000 and in that range pokemon selection does vary but I know peps who are at high ranks and there the meta does prevail
