We were here from the 5th to 9th August 2024 and love this cathedral it’s one of my all time favourites I found it hard to believe that it took 7 centuries to build lovely cathedral inside and out love this music too 👌👍
@@EngPheniks these churches are for anybody who wants to go in but they are still Catholic. They are the setting where the OLD and New Testament come alive through the Scriptures, the paintings and the sculptures and are built with the Spirit of Beauty, Truth and Goodness. The PRESENCE of our Lord is in the Tabernacle and the Holy Mass is given daily. Those who come in and do not know that ,are invited to taste and feel the Spirit.
The bell which we here is not the St.-Peters-Bell ("Decker Pitter"). it is the second greatest bell with name "Pretiosa", founded in 1448. The third bell is the "Speciosa", founded in 1449. Best wishes, Erwin Hoheisel, Eppstein (Germany).
Wooooooowwwww... This Bass comes from a depth were only Balrogs dwell..... Never heard anything more 'majestic' and B I G 😳 Literally 🌬 blown away 😀 Greetz from Germany to all humans out there seeking inner truth.....
El sonido de las campanas sobre todo las más grandes , me emociona de forma increíble, para mi es una oración al cielo y a Dios, una plegaria en forma de sonido.
y'know, when people mention about the bells of Cologne Cathedral, they automatically picture the biggest bell i.e the Petersglocke or Dicker Pitter. but to me, the Pretiosa is what grabs my attention. It in fact used to be the biggest bell in the Cathedral and even western Europe before the Petersglocke was then casted.
@@EngPheniks imagine if they were able to complete cologne cathedral in the middle ages (in an alternate timeline) they would have had the space to cast a 20 ton bell in the 15th century. (fun fact in strassbourg they cast a 20 ton bell in the 15th century but it cracked only 5 years after it's casting)
🤓👆the bells you hear are the Petriosa (G0) Speciosa (A0) and the bell of the three wise men (B0) (in dutch pitch system) the bells of notre dame of Paris are a chromatic sequence of 10 notes from the bourdon note of (Fis0)

Germany has some beautiful Catholic Churches 😍
They certainly do . Unfortunately they have a few strange bishops too. They have the tendencies of Luther .
Not some. Many !
These churches are meant for not just catholics. It's the people's church.
Many of the most beautiful Lutheran Churches are ex-Catholic churches.

Best sounding bell in the tower
Thats the pretiosa bell, second largest in the cathedral

OMG!!! And not played too fast .
the bell sounds give my vibes like something in coming for me, i should run lol
WOW 😲
The bells sound a lot similar to the bells of notre dame 🤨

@klokkenfan ☝🏻🤓 I said they sound similar and not the same🤣
@ lol, oops 😂
In this clip is the Pretiosa ringing and not the Dicker Pitter
yes, the narrator sounded as if he gave reference to the Pitter. but what actually sounded here is the Pretiosa
Does anyone else hear a song being played by the bells?
would be great if the bells were still rung manually but sadly they are not
really?
@@EngPheniks they are rung by motors
@@toastedbutter4316 sad to know that generations these days aren't physically fit enough to pull the ropes of big church bells. Obesity has taken over.
@@EngPheniks there's nothing to do with fitting, it's better for timing and precision if the organ controls The Bells, and not human strength
@@EngPheniks They are rung by motors since a long time. They recently renewed them. For accuracy and convenience reasons it makes sense.
