      That’s what you do when you take over a company. You take the time to properly vet what it is you’re buying. Evidently PSA didn’t. That’s on them.
      How do you promise a rifle for the summer of 2023 and still can’t get it out the door in late 2024??? They could have built one a day by hand! That would have been 500 they could have sold.
      DK Production Group is going to be selling these, albeit for a lot more (like $6000) but somehow they are able to produce them. I heard they got the original molds/presses.
      With all the modern manufacturing processes PSA has I’m super disappointed they couldn’t figure this out. But worse, they lied. This could have been an epic product for them.

      Which company do you represent. PSA is killing it! @@chuckcribbs3398

    • @MandoWookie
      @MandoWookie 2 месяца назад

      @@chuckcribbs3398 making each by hand is absurd. The base problem with the STG is the same as every late war German wonderweapon. They are actually pretty shit guns. What was tolerated as acceptable in a last ditch war effort wouldn't be acceptable in the modern market, unless it was under $300. Add on top of that, modifying the design so it's not using absolutely crap mags, ammo that barely exists, doesn't bend in the reciever if dropped wrong, doesn't eat it's own mainspring, or wear out the inside of the spring housing, function in a modern available cartridge with AR mags is a big order. It shares precisely zero parts with any other gun, you don't want it to share parts with original guns as those were crap, and also nearly unobtainable.
      That other company making accurate guns for $6000, tried importing them years ago through PTR. And guess what? They were excellent repros, they also were utterly shit. And no one bought them because they $6000 of shit with only shit mags and shit ammo available.
      It's like buying an Italian cap & ball replica gun and being surprised it cap jams, misfires, and is dirty. That's the authentic experience!
      This gun, has the unenviable position of not being 'accurate' enough of a reproduction for a lot of people( who want it detail accurate but modern gun reliable, an impossible contradiction) at any price, but will inevitably be more expensive than what a regular buyer would spend on a neat but otherwise impractical showpiece( ie the 'only if it's under $300' people, aka PSA's largest demographic) because its going to end up costing $2k at least.
      And 'modern manufacturing' only gets you ahead when designing modern stuff designed around it. Turning out a gun designed around using nearly nothing but stamped parts, crap castings, bad springs all made from whatever pot metal wasn't being rationed for important things like planes, tanks, & artillery, in whatever building not currently being bombed to hell, is inherently full of desgin workarounds & compromises that any designer would not make if any other option was available and you can't just change one part of that without it unbalancing the stack of cards. Using stamping for every one of the dozens of parts in the fire control assembly? Not happening. Using a block of lead as your critical headspacing component? Oh hell no!
      People aren't going to spend $6000 on a gun originally expected to have a service life of 3 weeks, a production time of 6 hours, unless they are autistic Germans who get orgasmic bliss from wading through the red tape to even own a gun, for their collection that all cost similar because if its that hard to get you might as well.
      Whether HMG or PSA try it this gun likely going to fail no matter what.
