My grandfather, Will J. Harris wrote the lyrics for Sweet Sue. I've heard many versions of this song but this is by far one of the best!

Is there a way I can download a copy of this? I would love to add it to my collection but I'm old and can't figure out how to do it. I'd ask my 9 year old granddaughter but we're quarantined! Where are you located and how did you become aware of this song? Just curious.

We all come from different musical backgrounds, some of us grew up listenning to Jazz thanks to our parents, others knew it along the way. I can't remember when I first heard this song in particular, but I know it must have been a long time ago. It was a really popular song in our country, among Fox Trot dancers, which my parents were back then.
This arrangement is the one of the Mills Brothers we love so much.

Hola Checha. I would love to communicate with you through email. How can I give you my email address privately? I still receive royalties from this song believe it or not. My grandfather was a prolific lyricist who wrote many songs but all but Sweet Sue and one other are now in the public domain. He originally started his writing career for Yiddish Theater and there is a poster of his song "Yonkel the Cowboy Jew" hanging in the Ellis Island museum. Sweet Sue was written for an actress, Sue Carol Ladd. She was originally from Chicago and my grandfather knew her well. Let's continue our conversations through email. I am thoroughly enjoying our correspondence.
