Celebrate the solstice in Stone Age style with these two animated holiday classics, starring America's favorite pre-historic family. Your first course of holiday cheer from Fred and co. is 1977's A Flintstone Christmas, in which Fred and Barney must save Christmas when Santa sprains his ankle. There's one big problem, though - Fred promised Mr. Slate that he will play Santa at the Children's holiday party. Can Fred and Barney deliver all the toys and still make it back to the party in time? And your second course is 1993's Emmy® nominated A Flintstone Family Christmas, which gives viewers a glimpse into the later life of the Rubbles and the Flintstones. Awaiting the return of Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm (now married with children of their own), Fred and Barney encounter a criminally inclined "caveless" youth. Fred and Wilma attempt to instill values in the boy, only to find themselves with a most unexpected Christmas gift.

I’m 24 years old now and I watched the Flintstones On tape in the 2000s when I was a kid, I love the show because I loved all the adventures. Fred went through although a grown-up now I always love this show. It played a role in me growing up as a kid.

And I'm recognizing the voice of Stella Stalactite was done by Didi Conn who played as Stacey Jones on "Shining Time Station". I got into it because of the Thomas stories right in the middle of it.

Only the true meaning spirit of Christmas that can change Stoney’s ways.
Some misunderstand a lot about The Flintstones. The concept had always been to spoof or satirize modern life but in a stone age setting and so tackling the holidays, this one being Christmas, in a stone age setting, is a perfect fit. "The modern stone age family", as the lyrics point out in the theme song, describes the concept of the cartoon. The taking of something current or modern and placing it in a stone age setting is the entire point of the Flintstones in the first place...so it isn't "stupid" if one understands the point of the Flintstones series.
ACcountryFan I’ve always loved them so much as a kid. I liked the way they live and acted it was such a great 60’s show along with the Jetson’s.

This is basically the last we see of the 'original' canon Flintstones. I read somewhere this special was a last grasp attempt at a proposed revamped Flintstones series. With Stoney being Fred and Wilma's new adopted son.

@@1810jeff I remember an episode of either The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show or The Flintstones Comedy Hour where Fred freaked out because he thought he'd found a single grey hair, but in the end, it turned out to just be paint.

This special was an intended pilot for the new version of The Flintstones that never came to be.
Had this recorded on a VHS tape when I was a kid, it was a swedish dub and I can still hear the swedish voices now 30 years later watching this. Time flies.

Just found out about Stoney, at least in this timeline, the original timeline, since at this point Pebs and Bam were married with Chip and Roxy, Stoney becomes their adopted son.
But then the reboots happened. But at least the original timeline got a proper ending with the Rubbles and the Flintstones becoming grandparents and in Fred and Wilma's case, deciding to have another child ❤

Fantastic Christmas cartoon this is, oh wow does this bring back memories and I love it.
I also remember a time when we we all use to go to the mall and to the stores and just go there and grab the stuff off the shelf and pay for it and leave. Those were the days, now probably 60% of the stuff you have to buy offline today. not just that but have the Christmas stuff like the cartoons and a few Christmas movies here and there they don't even play like they used to, which by the way stinks.
The fact that Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism, and Hinduism all exist together in the prehistoric times opens SO many questions about the Flintstones
You could say that about almost any cartoon.

At the time we were trying to get Rosie Perez for the social worker .This special was pretty much a Pilot which had 6 scripts written already .I still to this day think the Turner merger may have stopped it .Dave Feiss of Cow and Chicken did this storyboard and Mike Takamoto and I Julian Chaney did the design Work .I did the Social worker and the detective,and the Santa Line up,The religious figures Mike designed Stoney and the shots of baby stoney terror rising Bedrock as a baby .
