You did a great job with your scraps, etc. Years ago we camped in Mammoth and visited Mono Lake. It was basically a mud hole then and the controversy surrounding the reservoir and water from the lake was in full force. I’m happy to hear progress has been made in restoring the lake. I don’t remember a visitor center or walk way when we were there so they may be new since I visited. When we went, you could drive on the lake but we didn’t because even though we had 4 wheel drive, we didn’t want to chance getting stuck. After seeing your pics and hearing your story, it makes me want to go back and visit again 😊
