You are right. Start-stop damages the car more than long distance drives. It's like planes. Their life span is determined by how often it takes-off and lands. last longer. Long haul planes last for about 40 years

Your stay was short, You didn't visit Hout Bay and drive Chapmans Peak, it is a few kms after Camps Bay. Also if you want to see the most well known picture of Table Mountain then you will see it from Bloubergstrand which are also not too far. Glad you enjoyed your stay
