Just want to clarify something. I've been getting comments about Jumbo Josh being turned into a bear in this reimagining/rework. I keep being told he's a gorilla. Aside from this being a rework to fit the story I'd come up with, as far as I can tell from the games him being called a Green Gorilla was more of a nickname. If I remember correctly from the second game, there was a video of him being molded out of a clay type material and injected with givanium, so he's more of a gollum really. Either way, he's a bear in the reimagining to fit the new story I came up with if I were to rework the game based on the first game and its opening text. To fit the security toy storyline, it made sense that when redesigning the characters he'd be a giant teddy bear. If anything, Opila's the only one that stayed the same species for the most art(I just made her a flamingo/ostrich mix). I made Banban and Banbalina cats based on their silhouettes. And I based the story off of the opening text. I hope this clears any confusion up on the choices I made.
@@kwijibo114 And I made this video when it was still the first three or four games, so that information wasn't anything other than a nickname and he was still a blob of green clay that was injected with givanium. Not to mention, again, this is a reimagining, a rework of the first game going off of a line of text. It's not meant to be a one to one remake. It's a challenge to see what you could do with the same general idea.
A bear fits what you're going for way more anyways, a kindergarten would be full of teddy bears and bear toys so having a big bear guy as a protective role works better than a gorilla
Yeah it's weird, he was made with gorilla genes, that's why they call him a gorilla, even tho he looks like... well to be fair, he kinda doesn't look like anything really. Uh, the version from the games, that is.
The Jumbo Josh fight could be a tutorial to sneaking about and making noise. Like, maybe Josh is a security guard/bouncer as well as a receptionist- he’s built to take names and toss out troublemaking adults. If he catches you, he charges over to you, hugs you real tight to hurt you before tossing you outside the building. Thing is, due to the tampering, he’s perceiving any adult or any loud noise as a trouble to deal with. So in order to take him down, you have sneak around his line sight so he doesn’t catch you, make a loud noise that he perceives as a threat , hide so he doesn’t catch you, and then when he’s distracted, whack him in the back and shut him down. Or if you wanna keep him behind the desk, distract him by drawing his line of sight with a thrown item, sneak behind the desk, and wack his butt
Garten of Banban is something that I think is possibly the most funniest thing on earth because I cannot tell if the devs are being serious with what they’re making or just completely dumpposting on us
Tbh, banbans a game that just exists. Like it's not doing anything it's just sitting in the corner of the room with everyone just knowing it's there. There's like 6 games now and they honestly said "Follow the original story we had? Maaaaaan screw children!" and drove off the road to do whatever. But I like the take you have on Banban. But now people who want to do a take on this game in terms of story has two paths, either go off the rails or follow what it was originally
Yeah and they made you redo the mini game from chapter 2 in chapter 3 so you couldn’t refund it on stream because it would make the gameplay be 2 hours so you can’t refund the game
Yo that suggestion that you play as a mom using her handbag as a weapon kinda made me wonder: maybe that could he an additional mechanic? Like throughout the course of the game you can collect items, and all items collected increase the weight of the bag. Collectable items include lightweight yet useful items (ie, first aid supplies, batteries for Rover etc) to useless yet heavy items (ie, rocks from the playground, heavy toys etc). The heavier the bag, the harder it hits, however a heavy bag also makes running and hiding a lot harder, so you need to find a balance!
The characters look cool 6:20 I really like the designs bitter than the old it looks like something classic from the 80’s. But there’s so many characters in chapter 7 it’s hard to believe the game got this far and the bros never gave up what I know of right now they believed and they did it after a year finally getting good the good stuff might have went down in chapter 6 I’ve seen not many people like it but they did a nice job on the 7th game. We always believe in ourselves no matter what happens we will always believe even if people hate on the game or other things ignore them try to block them all over.
Ngl, I would've gone to like a TV Studio setting for my Re-Imagining of Garten of Banban (much like the Banana Splits horror film that nobody wants to remember) and the Toy Car mechanic is not a bad idea though, but I think that the camera would pop out of the hood as we use it. The designs are based Drago's (as seen in the link below) since the in-game founders would've had a lot of money to create a large studio for a large cast of mascots. ruclips.net/video/PXLpjIu5Izw/видео.html
Garten of ban ban could have a good story but it’s clear the brothers don’t know how to write a story that’s interesting. They’ve kind of just stopped to popcorn moments with crazy action, there’s no narrative cohesion. Also what happened to saving our kid? And how the hell is this mom still alive?
While it’s not going to be a direct Banban remake, I am recycling this idea and redesigning the redesigns and renaming the characters for a game using this idea. I’m working on multiple projects so it’ll take some time, but I’m giving hame development a shot now so maybe I can make it happen to some extent.
@@Sam-oz6qn I'm not the best with coding, but I'm slowly learning how to put games together. As for modeling, I use to use blender, but haven't in a while. But I've been messing around with the 3D options in Gdevelop, so maybe I'll give it a shot
I mean, I've answered someone else who said this already, but this is a rework and a reimagining. I'm following the story of the opening text, not the lore given on the sheets of paper. So in my version, he's a teddy bear, which would make sense for the story I came up with.
The problem with these redesigns is that it fundamentally moves the designs of Banban's characters towards a furry/anthropomorphic mammal aesthetic that is ubiquitous across media including mascot horror. What makes the original designs of the Banban characters stand out, and ultimately memorable and iconic, are the fact that they look so bizarre and unlike typical anthropomorphic animals. I think while the Banban games have been deeply flawed at several levels, any attempt to fix them needs to incorporate the aspects that that made the series survive and catch traction.
The whole point of the reimagining was to completely change it though, that's the point of a reimagining. I was loosely basing it on the first game and mostly focusing on the opening text and the general idea of a parent whose kid is trapped in this place. The choice to make them more like traditional mascots was intentional for the sake of the story rework. They were meant to be characters kids would see and recognize, especially since they'd be security toys. I even say that in the video. This wasn't an attempt to fix the games by any means, it was a reimagining. It was seeing where I could go with the general premise of there being these mascot characters of some sort in this kindergarten/daycare and being a concerned parent going to their to save their kid. I wanted to see what I could come up with. I thought that was very straight forward considering how many times I said "my story" and made it clear it wasn't meant to be me remaking the game.
Banban always makes me laugh, like the concept is it's a giant billion dollar research lab working in some giant empty abyss to make clay golems and bring them to life... and they look AWFUL. Which means whoever on the science team was crafting their bodies is just the worst at sculpting , they can build a multi-million dollar research lab hanging over a pit but they can't hire a single art student? It's bonkers.

I have no issues with that, but in 7 it is outright said that despite not looking like a gorilla, he is essentially a gorrilier gorilla.
