I could never roll my Rs in Spanish, still can't do that now. It's probably going to be my hardest issue for correct pronunciation of Sanskrit. There's a gene for that, and I don't have it. However, I'll do my best. Thank you for these videos, this was better than any other beginner videos so far for helping me learn Sanskrit, and I think that's because English is your first language though you speak others correctly as I used to when I was younger. 🙏✨💛
Hi, you're a good teacher. Thanks a lot! I practice my English, I learn to pronounce in Sanskrit and I just started last year to study astrology. Ummm, so happy to meet you 😃 Bitcoin is a BitBigdifficult for me at the moment.
Just came upon Simons class and so excited! I am a student of Ayurveda and have been wanting to take a beginners Sanskrit. How might I find the workbook?
Yes. And lesson 3. Just search RUclips for it. You can email simon@spirittype.com for details on how to get the whole 12 lesson program, with workbook.
29:13/34:03 DIPTHONG is really from classical Greek "Hoi Dipthongoi" : the dual vowels said together, or 2 vowel sounds pronounce neither separatetly nor blended as one vowel, but said in a certain ratio'd interval of time from the voiced-in-voicing out mouth. The butter (or peanut butter, or jam, or...? is neither totally absorbed in the bread, nor totally separate from it: the butter definitely alters the bread in taste, affects it to a degree of change, yet the bread is still bread. So for the Latin Dipthong AE or Greek AI: A is the butter taste to the bread as E or I. The same somewhat for the other dipthonged vowel combinations. The cracker is dipped into the sauce, or enters the soup completely absorbed. In buttermilk, the butter is not on the edge as still butter, but completely absorbed in the milk: so EU is not the dsame as UE or UI, etc.
Phoneen (Φωνήεν) is Greek for the letters you can pronounce without using the tongue. A e i o etc Dipthong is also a Greek word but its been a long time since I was in school
Hi John, Sanskrit Without Stress is not available as a book/dvd anymore- please contact me at simon@spirittype.com for details. As for my other books, they should be available from top bookstores and amazon to order.
Wow amazing.. The Ananda part is funny, but i don't know why its Uh when its actually ah, like in account, because there is another letter in the vowels which is Uh (its ah, aa, eh, ee uh, uu, the 5th letter, & when it comes to pronunciation then the example should be the precise), some where some one used "but" is an example and many unmatched words, i hope they see the point of using the right example, because over the time every one will have their own version...if it's not learned in its nature, also actually pronounced aanandha (da is pronounced as in Dharma, and the end also sound like aa only) but people writing in english Da and pronounce like in Amanda or double, at least in the western because the indian language all have the sanskrit influence and super close to the number of letters, vowels and consonants are super close. so they understand naturally the letters with the sounds and the meaning what people trying to say when it combined in the sentence, There are 4 das, and 4 different letters in sanskrit,... and everything is in the pronouciation in the mouth (there are 6 places in the mouth that used accordingly for sanskrit) that can't understand when we hear them until we learn and practice like a daily language, because english doesn't have that system of pronouncing but we still able to give right example as it has all the letters needed. Even learning english is not easy and my first language is not English, so if the context not given right, its easy to misunderstand the words and the meaning, like Wear and Where, However, Just need the right words for the example for sanskrit and any language.. all, i hope whoever teaching takes some time to find the right word than just going with what is available, but only people who grew up with it know the difference in pronunciation that match the right example, because any language is learned over the time correctly only when used daily, but i hope over the time the sanskrit don't loose its original and hope everyone using whatever from mother India gives some credit while helping others and not just taking for granted.
Hi EntreLinhas, He replied to someone else a few months ago saying "This course is no longer in print... please email simon@spirittype.com for details".
