chuck miller I had the same issue. Luckily there’s a garage right down the street that has a SOLUS. The guy had no idea such a procedure even existed until I showed him this video.
Thank you for sharing this video. You just saved my ass a bunch of time and heart ache. Totally forgot about calibration after the replacement of the sensor. And who would have thought to look in the body control module should have been listed under ABS TRAC and after repair. O well job done car gone check in the bank.
Did u replace this because the car wouldn't shift out of park? I have the same car and it's stuck in park. If I mess around long enough with he pedal and shifter it seems to release some times
The dealer wanted one hundred and sixty dollars to install this part. It took me two hours to install the part. I am really hurting today- I have bruises on my back and my shoulders really hurt. The installation was really hard due to its location.
If it's only off by a blond one, slightly bend the metal peg that drives the rheostat lever. Use a small box-end wrench (like 1/4 or 5/16) that barely fits around the peg to give you leverage. I don't know about disconnecting the battery.
We have a 2007 Lucerne and the cruise control works randomly....it seems when you hit the brake pedal (just a tad) it will work for a few minutes then go off..... does this sound like it needs a brake switch (the brake lights work just fine)???
I have a 2006 buick lucerne...I am having problems with the brake light staying on after releasing the brake pedal...so what I been doing is taking my foot with the shoe on and reaching behind it to release the brake...Would I have to replace the brake light switch? or should I say the one working on it...Could you please get back to me soon cause I am taking my car back 11/4/2021...
If I had the money, I would have had a shop work on this. This was a pain in the butt. I am not meant to contort my body to get to the part. Very difficult for a 64 year old fat man.
Thanks for the great video! On my same car the 2 side brake lights are normal, but the upper/3rd one sometimes stay on. Anyone had that? Switch replace? Recalibrate? Thx.
You're showing where its going, not how you took it out & put it back in You're showing when its back in, not telling people step by step how to install it. L😢ll
So if u have to calibrate the switch after replacing it who’s to say it didn’t need calibrating before and not having to replace the switch. I replace my switch and brake light is still stuck on. what a pain in the ass high-tech piece of shit idea . I looked to bend the bracket a hair and it was mounted to solid ... and to top it off GM put the screws in backwards so you can’t get to them without taking out the fucking gas pedal ... this should be a safety recall not to mention I have to replace the led center brake light that stretches across the entire length of the truck lid. .... ps if your cruise control doesn’t work it means your brake switch and break lights are stuck on!!!!
Man, you're a life saver. My Lucerne was doing this, and this was just what I needed to see. thank you!

Great video. You explain things very well and don’t waste time. Thank you
Thanks for the video Mac! No more crazy lights on my 08 Lucerne.

Does the switch part you installed also control a parking brake pedal that will not set or fully release at various times?
Is there any way to calibrate the BPP sensor without a scanner? Will disconnecting the battery do the same thing? Thanks in advance for the help.

p39483 hey! Would that damage anything?
Thanks for the video. Have you had any heat issues on the passenger side by Chance?

Thanks my friend 👏👏👏👏

You don't have to calibrate the new switch. 🏴☠️
