Sports Psychology Coach Thank very much for all the outstanding content you make. As an athlete I really appreciate it them, there is no other way I could've learned about stuff like this. It really is helpful for me. That being said I think you missed a topic in this video. The topic is the subconscious mind, see, your subconscious mind holds all your believes, memories, and experiences. You should start learning about it -- it will be your greatest discovery, as it was mine. Thank you 😊 keep up the great work❤️
This is embedded in verbal persuasion. But like I said, verbal persuasion without action will not lead to sustained confidence. You need to set goals and practice to build lasting confidence.
@@masteryblueprint_ I agree 👍 but does confidence affect chocking under pressure? If not how can we prevent it. If you touch on this topic that will be great, and pre-comptetion, especially since I have upcoming soccer tryouts in 2 months. Once again thanks.
Yes, feeling confident is the antithesis to choking under pressure. Best way to prevent it is through building confidence and preparing as best as you can. You can also meditate or practice breathing exercises to help you control your emotions before your tryouts. I will have video on this in the future, but these are the most important fundamentals.
I know I have some talent in sports like football and basketball but in game I lack the confidence to preform at my full ability and fall prey to the belief that everyone else is better and more capable than me and to the fear of humiliation from others. Thanks for this great video, you just go
Yes, or in other words: 1. Previous accomplishments 2. Effective coaching and having a role model 3. Self-talk 4. Developing the ability to regulate your thoughts and emotions
What if you have literally no experience in the sport? I’m trying to start playing sports because I’ve always been a dork but I’m so old already and everyone around me has years of practice. I have a decent physique so that’s not my problem but I just don’t have practice and I feel like I’ll get humiliated if I start now.
@@choppablessme1887 I normally train soccer players through private sessions, but I would be happy to answer some questions you have to the best of my ability and teach you foundational sport psychology concepts. Send me an email about yourself, your sport and what some of your goals are if you are interested. However, please keep in mind that I am not a licensed sport psychologist, so do not take what I say as professional advice. Also, for deeper topics regarding mental health and overcoming fears or trauma, consider seeing a licensed psychologist an learning cognitive behavioral therapy strategies.
Awesome video, only found your channel today but its easily among the best I've found on these topics. I used to compete in an elite competitive level and I had very little self confidence, most of my ability to grind it out and get better involved extremely lofty goals and a lot of negative self talk (I'm nothing if i dont accomplish this etc.) Anyways long story short I eventually burned out and didn't adapt enough which I think confidence was a major part. The willingness to adapt by breaking down parts of your game and build it back up is hugely important and the inevitable injustices or setbacks can be fatal without having that great foundation of confidence from yourself or a supporting cast. The concise breakdown and methods to improve these pillars are excellent, thanks for making this video.
Hey thanks for the video bud I am currently 15 and 6’3 I have extreme god given talent on this sport called cricket for eg I can bowl with both hands but I lack self belief sometimes I play so good at training sometimes astonishes the coach itself but underperfrom I’m matches I promise to work on it and be the best the best the day I transform my game from training to the match you’ll see me as the most successful on your TV sets adios

Great video
You’re an athletic genius, you are really helping me become the best.
Most certainly far from genius, but I'm glad they are helping!
Do you think you could train an athlete individually? What would it take for you to coach my mentality.
You’re too humble lol, respect.

I don’t need a motivational coach. As in my sport, it’s individual.
