Clemson waited for the ACC’s response to the FSU lawsuit. Smart move on their part! FSU and Clemson are in a league of their own. They both belong in either the SEC or Big Ten. Go NOLES, and Go Tigers!!

Penny is putting in her two cents worth about leaving the ACC!

I believe Jason is correct, Clemson lawsuit is about media rights and Clemson waited for updated CFP revenue sharing. I would interject this caveat. The ACC champion is guaranteed a top 4 seed and a bye. Why would Clemson leave the ACC to fight other programs for a conference championship when they own the ACC. Clemson wants to be able to market their branding for a greater share of revenue and that is why they asked the judge to look into the contract that ESPN and the ACC brokered. If ESPN renegotiated contracts that opens the door for Clemson to invalidate the contract with the ACC. It does not mean they want to exit just that now Clemson can directly negotiate the media with other networks just like Notre Dame has with NBC. I do not see Clemson leaving the gravy of a guaranteed bid into the CFP

Clemson doesn't run the ACC lmao. Also Dabo is running your program into the ground. Y'all are screwed

@@pnut3844ableOh, a Dabo hater. Clemson has a top 5 2025 recruiting class. Clemson has a top 5 rated roster. Clemson graduates 99.9% of their FB student athletes yet Dabo is running the program in the ground. Dabo has the 1st of it's kind PAW Journey to give his athletes intern positions in off season. Clemson has the 1st of it's kind branding institute which helps the student athlete market the NIL brand. And Clemson does not want to run the ACC. Clemson want to run their rights to their media, which is the format of where CFB is trending. Clemson is ahead of the game, perhaps you should catch up. When Clemson wins this case, you will see FSU amend their suit and you will see other institutions follow Clemson's model.

Losing 30 plus million per year means a less competitive program compared to the SEC and Big 10

But you're missing the point... even if they do win the conference and get that spot...they are making WAY less than the other conference champs. They CANNOT make %50 less than what South Carolina make every year! So your logic misses the point. Not to mention... you say "Clemson owns the ACC"... ok this is what you think... but if FSU is out, Clemson owns NOTHING, because the reality is Clemson & FSU own the conference. FSU is out one way or the other... so Clemson is out also.

@@rlhaff3560The CFP which is owned by ESPN will need to broker a deal with Clemson directly to broadcast their game and not with the brokered deal they have with the ACC, so, yes Clemson would force ESPN to restructure their revenue sharing formula which give 50%+ to the SEC and BIG10. And a judge may rule in their favor because of what ESPN did after Clemson signed the Grants of Right. But remaining in the ACC would give Clemson that leverage, they would just broker a deal to share revenue with the ACC for wearing their logo. Too easy.

Agree college sports is becoming an episode of South Park ... Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb
I don't fault schools leaving a conference for significantly better pay or sports environment. Seems stupid IMO since this is mostly about bad broadcasting contacts from ESecPN and ACC leadership. Thanks for shinning light on this crapshow. I hope we get to see discovery on what a true charlie foxtrot this is.
I unsubscribed from ESecPN a couple years ago and I'm becoming less and less interested in college sports as realignment continues.
I completely understand if Clemson and other teams leave the ACC. However, I will care much less about Clemson sports if they are just one of dozens of lame teams in a sec or big10 megaconference. The extra free time is actually nice as I watch less and less college sports.
