*Halina Lukomska was born in 1929. She graduated from the State Higher Schools of Music in Poznan and Warsaw. Then she completed her vocal studies in Italy with Giorgio Favaretto and Toti dal Monte. During her numerous concert tours she won an international reputation of a distinguished singer. Her repertoire includes the works of the early masters (Monteverdi, Bach, Haendel, Mozart) and of the 20th century composers (Schoenberg, Berg, Webern, Strawinsky, Boulez, Szymanowsky). She has been performing them with famous conductors: Claudio Abbado, Ernest Bour, Zubin Mehta, Igor Markevitch and others. She was married to the Polish composer Augustyn Bloch.
