    It’s August 2023 and I’m here, rewatching for inspiration. Back in September ‘22 when you did BBBE I began to make my cup of coffee with an egg. I also made it in a measuring cup. I’m here to say I’M STILL DOING IT! Lol!! I make my coffee with 28 oz of water. But only 1 a day. I used to drink around 3-18 ounce coffees a day. Also thanks to you both and this challenge, I’ve lowered my sweetness threshold, I’m conscious of my cheese intake and I eat mostly meat now. Thank you for all the inspiration and love you spread through the PHD.
    Like a pebble in water, the ripples spread out spreading support, love and inspiration.

    My total cholesterol has been phenomenally high my whole life and I'm 66. A couple doctors thought it was genetic (my father was Finnish and supposedly Finns have high cholesterol...), but they still put me on statins. When I learned about clean eating, when I started paleo about 5 years ago, I told my doctor I wanted to try controlling it with diet. He agreed. My cholesterol did actually go down for a couple years, but it was still over 300. I started keto in April 2018 and it stayed high, even going up. He finally couldn't stand it anymore in 2019 and asked if I would do an aortal ultrasound to check if there was any blockage. I did it, and it was totally clear. Absolutely no plaque whatsoever. He realized that I am simply a cholesterol-making machine, but it is strictly flowing through my veins and not doing any harm whatsoever. I don't have any other indicators that I might have a heart attack, so he's fine with my numbers, even though they are still out of this world (total cholesterol: 480, HDL: 93, triglycerides: 81, LDL: >350, CHOL/HDLC RATIO: 5.2 and non HDL cholesterol: 387 as of August). So I'm sticking with BBBE and not worrying in the slightest about my numbers!

      They are fantastic numbers. Your TG/HDL ratio of 0.87 (should be under 2) shows you have mostly large fluffy LDL, the good stuff that doesn't stick to your arteries.

      I see statins wreak people... plenty of research saying they do nothing and that high cholesterol isn't bad!

      Ive heard of hyper responders. If they eat a done of fat (like 3k or 4k calories worth per day, their blood cholesterol goes way down. Apparently, since they get tons of dietary cholesterol, their liver stops making so much

      I wish my hubby’s doctor would just chill out about his numbers! He has NO genetic predisposition to a heart attack so why in the world put him on a statin?? (He’s 67 so I got him to try cutting his dosage in half. That’s when his numbers went up and his doctor threw a fit.) Sugar is the culprit anyway, not meat!?

    My Dr. saw my cholesterol levels. Of 199 as of last year, he prescribed a statin right away. I left confused and picked up the medication. I email you him to send me for a recent Lipid test and I told him i had lost 34 Lbs. I walk 2 miles every day for 5 days a week, my blood pressure was 123/66 and I have been doing Keto. I got my test results back and my cholesterol was 143, so i emailed my Doctor and I told him I was not taking the medicines for cholesterol and I refuse to take it, to many side effects..I also heard Dr. Berry on a video on cholesterol, I trust him and will not take medication and keep doing what I am doing now.

    Last year I was skipping breakfast, just having a cup of coffee, then I would do lunch and dinner. That lasted for a couple months but then I started being insanely hungry in the morning and I couldn't ignore it. I started having breakfast again and the scale moved.
    I like your "God first" approach, he led me to this way of eating and it's been 2 years of learning so much!!

    I just recently found you two! You are a joy! I try only to eat if I am hungry enough for a meal. Been keto 5 years and ketovore since Dec 28th 2021. My doctor is fairly good about me eating this way. We have an understanding...I know she feels she needs to prescribe a statin but I told her that doesn't mean I have to take it. She smiles and nods. I still have a ways to go but God is good!

    Great numbers both of you! FYI, Dr. Cywes says HDL 75 and above, Triglycerides 75 and below, so you are good there. Fabulous remnant cholesterol! Glucose wonderful, insulin terrific! A1C is awesome! I'm still working towards those goals, I've a long way to go. Yay for pants that now fit! 0 carb looks good on you both. BBBE rocks! Dr. Berry rocks!

    I fired my primary care provider over my cholesterol numbers. She took one look and wanted to immediately prescribe a statin. I refused and ended the appointment. No one batted an eye when I was 300+ lbs with a 195 cholesterol, but at 190 lbs and a 350 cholesterol, suddenly it's an issue? 🤦🏼‍♂️
    As Dr Berry has said, cholesterol is a meaningless stat if you're metabolically healthy.

      i'm going to my primary care in two weeks. I've lost almost 17 lbs and feel so much better. Two yrs ago when i went to my doctor he put me on a statin but he doesn't know yet that i never took it. About a yr ago i discovered keto and like I said have lost 17lbs but have been eating a lot of eggs bacon ect. but very little sugar. Very curious to see my numbers and what my doc has to say. I feel better than ever before so will he still be my doc in the future...that remains to be seen!! :)

      I had the same response (having lost 60 pounds, normal BMI). I offered to be a CAC and score was 0 (perfect). EVEN, when I was VERY ill with 104 fever in the throws of COVID, he brought up the "possible need for statin" but not assistance for the COVID. I was floored. Needless to say, not my doctor anymore. PS, hadn't been sick at all for 2 years before COVID and haven't been sick anymore 14 months later.

    Why feel guilty? I get it that it’s been ingrained in you…BUT, in the end…we are each different and just have to do what works for us personally. I got waaaayyy too caught up in “you should be doing this”…”you shouldn’t be doing that”…omad, fasting, track macros, don’t track macros…blah, blah, blah, I’m over it! As soon as I stopped obsessing about ALL of the things I mentioned, is when I started having consistent success and feeling good physically and mentally. I’m now 40 lbs down and have never felt so motivated. I feel like a weight (literally) has been lifted. Just do the best you can and don’t sweat all of the millions of details, details, details! Guess what? Just lay off the carbs… it’s that simple, and it works. Lol and God bless❤️ (sorry for rambling) 😘 xoxo

      I decided a few years ago to do research about health subjects and decide for myself how I wanted to eat. Lost about 20 lbs with intermittent fasting, and have kept with it. I am a retired RN, and have refused to take statin meds, even when my Dr wanted me to take them. I take responsibility for my decisions.I have been on this earth a long time, and now make my own choices. Lost lots of trust in medical doctors since COVID, and other things.

My last results were cholesterol reading of 300 as well and my Dr prescribed a statin this was before I started keto 6 or so so months ago. I started on them not knowing, and began to feel weird! Brain fog, super sensitive to the sun and just crappy feeling. So…. I quit taking them! No, I didn’t tell him yet but I also have not gone back to him. Please give me some hints as to HOW to find the right Dr? Do I just start calling? I feel soooo much better at this time, being on Keto for a while and know I’m not excited about seeing the same Dr again.

    The more technical cholesterol numbers are much better indicators of problems. They are: lp(a), LPA activity, and quite possibly the most important is oxidized LDL. Those seemingly are directly related to seed oils consumption. I'd love to see those labs. We know butter, beef, and your eggs are probably really safe. Bacon can be high in linoleic acid though (I've seen it about 10% omega 6, which is not ideal but >>> chicken). That combined with your omega 3/ 6 ratio could give you a very strong indicator of metabolic health IMO

    Just discovered your channel! Great information! I also listen to Dr. Ken Berry. Your comments about your lab results was very helpful. I have a great doctor who is supportive of Keto dieting but has not embraced the keto interpretation of cholesterol numbers. She put me on a statin but I am not happy with taking a statin at all! I stopped taking it a week ago. When I see her next week I will ask her to do a test of my arteries to show if they are becoming clogged or not. She is actually on keto but told me not to use the heavy cream. I think I know more about keto than she does! I don’t want to offend her but I will let myself down if I don’t take personal responsibility for my health and what I believe to be best for me after listening to Dr Berry and others. I guess I just needed to vent! I am subscribing to your channel. 🤗😍

    Is this diet going to be sustainable due to "inflation" and "food shortages" our Country is currently facing. It is projected those two events are only going to get worse over time. What happens if a person cannot continue on this plan?? I suppose the weight will come back and all that goes with it. Any suggestions???

    • @2krazyketos
      @2krazyketos  2 года назад +1

      Yes, I believe it is sustainable. You have to decide what your priorities are. The weight will only come back if you go back to eating heavily processed sugar and grain foods. If you stick to a whole food diet, you should be able to maintain good health and weight.

    I had a cardiologist tell me once... you need to do labs BEFORE starting then wait at least 6 months before doing labs...because when you "lose weight" quick like keto does at first... you release alot of extra "cholesterol" and it's not bad per se...but it skews your numbers... so if you are "settled" and then started doing bbbe your numbers could potentially be a little higher than they might have been a week before you started...but it's not "bad" it's just stuff being released into your blood and not put of your system yet.... good job guys!!!

      My MD told me the same thing....he also said that when you first start... your fasting blood sugar and A1C numbers will seem high until you burn through stored fat and your liver and pancreas begin to "heal". I did blood work every three months over the course of a year...and every time I could see improvement in my numbers.

    If she really presses the issue and I fire her, I don't know where to go because I feel like all Dr. In my area are like her. Her heart is in the right place but she just follows the book.

    I agree about the food guilt, or they imply if you DON"T intermittent fast, you will do so eventually. Also, in the show notes after the live next week, will you show the lab codes for the suggested labs? I think it would be helpful.

    I am new to your site. I heard Dr Berry and Neisha speak of you all. I love the positive, happy, faith filled vibe! Thank you! I will be trying the BBBE, starting tomorrow. (Need groceries) what other labs would you add? Should I do labs now, binging for 1 month now on SAD, or wait a month?
    How do I find mayo recipe?

      Go to Ownyoulabs.com. You can get them cheap. I’d do it now and at the end to see the improvement

    Hi Joe n Rachel I love your channel but I’m very disappointed cause when you pointed to the top of the screen for the mayo recipe, nothing happened, it wasn’t there so could you please let me know how to get it, I’ve already looked through your recipes and can’t find it, stay safe, Carol from Scotland xx

    THANKS for doing the lab work!!! After 3 years of eating low carb, my numbers are in the 300 club with the low triglycerides and high HDL so it’s really clear that this WOL produces these results.. You say find a medical professional that understands. Well good luck with that. I have not been able to find one doctor that isn’t totally freaked out by my LDL. You guys are AWESOME. Ask Dr Berry about the sweeteners cause I love my stevia, monk fruit. Should we try to cut them out?

    Food is life. Food is medicine. Why would I limit when I can have the nutrition my body needs? Our ancestors ate tons when they killed it and fasted when they had no food. They didn’t fast for a diet. Im on the carnivore diet and I eat when I’m hungry.

    Hello Rachel,
    I am trying to find out the type of strainer that you changed to from the Nut Bag that you mentioned in one of your comments in your video when you made yogurt in the Instant Pot. I just saw that video and I am excited to try it as soon as I can get the strainer. Thank you and keep making and sharing those great videos.

    Little confused...why are you eating more then 1 to 2 meals a day? Protein still raises insulin. Thought the whole purpose we were eating this way was to reduce insulin as much as possible? Plus the more often you eat the more cravings you usually trigger...

    • @2krazyketos
      @2krazyketos  2 года назад

      the point was not to reduce insulin, it was to eliminate other foods. It’s also not the same as sugar or carbs raising insulin. Also, if you watch the series, you will see we usually only eat 1-2 meals a day. And its fine to eat 3 meals.

    My doc wants me to get blood work done and I’ve put it off because I guarantee he’s going to want me on cholesterol medication and ignore the fact my weight is consistently 30lbs lighter the last three years and my glucose is no longer in the pre diabetic level. I’m intrigued by what remnant cholesterol is…

    • @2krazyketos
      @2krazyketos  3 года назад

      Remnant cholesterol is also called VLDL. Dave Feldman from Cholesterol Code has a post of his website that shows you how to manipulate your cholesterol for a test

    I feel much better since starting Keto 13 days ago. I’m down 11 lbs but my Fasting Blood Glucose has been between 135-140 in the past 3 days since I started testing. I know I’m still obsess and Type 2 Diabetic but I expected lower numbers based on our menu and how many calories we’ve been eating. So I’m going to wait a couple of hours after waking and test before we eat breakfast.

    Keto and IF are 2 separate things. You can combine them if it works but you don't have. You can intermittent fast without eating keto. Make your own rules as long as it works for you
