I am in the soft South East. This is just an average day for our Northern comrades but Southerners make such a fuss. Hardly any sites are working but I need the money. My wife needs more shoes.
I have found out that biggest issue on cold is work boots. I was a bit cheapskate and bought winter boots with steel toe guard and steel nail step guard. Next time i wont be and will buy boots that has composite guards, i have heard that those are much warmer.
Steven If you can get a base layer for £6.00 go for it. Nobody wants to pay over the odds but I tried some cheap ones recently and the fabric was heavier and it tended to ride up and leave my lower back exposed. Don't forget that work clothes and safety wear (as described on the invoice) are tax deductible.
They are rubbish though, wouldn’t even bother getting the snickers stuff either just get merino wool ones from an outdoor shop. Be around £50 per pair. Anyone who claims £4 cotton ones work haven’t done anything physical in the cold. They are fine for walking the dog though. It’s all down to breathability as well, there is not point wearing them when you start sweating in them as well.
Honestly used snickers for 10 years plus. Not so sure the quality is the same recently with its new owners but in all fairness the customer service is flawless, rang with an issue not expecting much to be informed a replacement pair will be with me soon. They do get some stick though 12 hrs 7 days some times.
Okay this one is to protect.... what about a first aid or emergency help at a work place? Lets say you have a nail nailed in your hand or the well protected part of a body to sit... what to do? Broken hand bones bleeding head or an eye is hurt... thanks for thinking about it! Kind regards from Switzerland
E Slater Yeah I think I saw you when I was in Yorkshire a few weeks back. The thing is we have laws against that sort of thing down here. It frightens the horses.
Don't rate snickers Roger, last time I wore one I got covered in chocolate and peanuts! Working outside today, 2 storeys up on the North Norfolk coast in shorts and tshirt!, been here since summer as someone pasloded my boots to the deals!!
Hi Lewis Let us assume this lot cost £400.00. Trades in the London area earn anywhere between £150 and £280 per day. Assume on that money you pay 40% tax on everything over £45,000 and every item I am wearing is tax deductible. You either spend it or give it to the tax man and the tax man won't keep you warm.
lucky for them!! i wish i was up london way im only on £70 lol never a truer word spoken .. the tax man certainly wont keep you warm lol in all honesty id give anything to stay warm the few day! snow has been crazy .. any tip on keeping your feet warm ?? :)
Plasterers runabout in t-shirts in this weather, on a price. Hard as nails.
This video is definitely not sponsored by snickers :D
The snow is just great at the moment! Clocked -13c in south east this morning
Where abouts are you based?

True. We are doing something on boots and should have added that point. Ass you spend more they all tend to be lighter and composite
Go to Primark, they sell base layers for £4 - £6 e.g long John's , fitted top etc ,
Steven

haha that was funny and brave mate , been outside from Christmas only my 2nd day off have also been layered up 👍
Bloody hell roger you must have about £400 quids worth of gear on, I’d be scared of ripping them
That’s a lot more than 400 ahaha
What work.are you doing in weather like that
Depending how much it is below 0'C you can do pretty much all construction works what you do in summer also in winter except exterior painting.
I am doing a bit of first fix carpentry and then the fascias and gutters. I am not going to strip the roof until the snow goes.
And best of all it’s freeeeee
Yes we are giving this full set away in our competition
Hope you wash them first. ;)
Ha! They will of course be a new set in your size not mine. No sense giving mine away I would have nothing to wear
Great, I could do with some new clobber as I've just worn out my SNICKERS Duratwill trousers.
Roger getting his kit off. Who would have thought! lol
Roger just to let you know you can get all this from Snickers
Thanks Fodenmann
I have to admit, I forgot to mention it.
LOL nice one Roger
I thought Roger was about to go the Full Monty! haha
We are trying to gain viewers not lose them.
hahaha
close to x-rated lol
Get some nuts !
Fuck going to work mate... Day off in that weather...
How the hell do you work in that lot. Call it a day and get down the pub. Only dead heroes!!
That's about £400 worth of Snickers gear you can get cheaper and just as good elsewhere.
U sure you can’t get better than snickers
shame about the price of snickers though, i`ll happily stick to the more than adequate scruffs that i wear daily.
I'm from the North, we don't need "layers" we just get on with it, bollock naked.
E Slater

Kids in Iqaluit Canada go to school with 2 layers, like a tshirt and a hoodie at -50c.
That, or emigrate to Australia 🇦🇺
Good idea but it softens you up too much

Well North Norfolk that's a nice sheltered spot so you don't need to wrap up. How is the ice cream van doing? I bet he has a queue all day long.
Nah business not too good for him at the mo he's run out of hundreds and thousands!
your wearing more than a weeks wage in clothes lol
