A.i got the 2nd largest applause during the nba 75 ceremony only to MJ
The people loved him the most cause he was just the realest with a genuine big heart
Y’all need to get AI on the podcast..
Man, AI is still my absolute favorite player of all time
How long have you been watching the game
Iverson was like the Tupac of the NBA
That's Real
Good comparison 👍🏾
Maybe. But Pac had a lot of haters too. A lot of people were jealous of him because he was getting all the ladies lol. Plus he wasn't afraid to call people out. AI was a nicer person in that regard, or less willing to get into that drama (after his arrest before he entered the NBA). Pac was wild. In terms of being unique and having that impact on pop culture stylistically, then yeah they're the same
@@GoGetYourShinebox lol what bro ??? Iverson was getting into shootouts and fights all the time in Philly lol yeah he was loved but it’s always gonna be haters …
@@phillybul215 I dunno about shootouts. But it’s well documented that Pac was constantly in trouble with the law. AI did his before he entered the NBA bit but stayed clear of too many legal problems afterwards. Tupac straight up had a death wish lol boy was wild
🤣 I’ve seen Iverson like 5 times at TGIF’s in Charlotte. He lives here now. Saw him so drunk one time they were carrying him out like Adrian Broner after losing that fight that time 🤣
Horrible tipper at tgif from our experience
Here is why people loved Iverson so much:
1. He was an average size guy doing Remarkable things giving EVERY average guy HOPE!
2. He was from the hood and refused to change his mind and look to be accepted by whytefolks which ALWAYS will get respect in the hood!
3. He played ball the SAME WAY WE Played ball in the hood which FURTHER gave US hope and HIM respect!
4. His STYLE! He was like NO other! He was a trendsetter!
If you try hard and fail the city will still love you …that’s what Ben Simmons didn’t understand…just try hard bro win or lose just play hard
TGI Fridays was on city line Ave was Iverson spot …called club Fridays
AI is all-time!
Dion waiters to bro we need tht plane story fashoo!!!
Yo PG me n my friend flew down from Canada to watch u guys play the nuggets and u didn’t disappoint, played a great game. Next time I come down u should stop the car to sign my stuff 😂
He actually would I took pics with him once at a hotel back in Indy dude is super nice
ai and mj are my favorite athletes ever
I feel like I learned a lot about life from AI, he always emphasized his gratefulness and humility. He was definitely a superstar and rockstar, fully assured of himself about that, I don't think he realized his fans thought of him as an even bigger rockstar and superstar than he thought of himself.
He put philly on the map...what you talking about..he is relatable
Getting Matt Barnes on a basketball podcast is like getting 21 Savage on a feature
But where did all his money go.
I was a 10 year old Mexican kid from Cali and while everyone was obsessed with Kobe and shaq in La I was rockin iverson warm up suit iverson head band and wristbands only kid with iverson shoes I even had the documentary 😂 I wanted cornrows but my parents wouldn’t let me they said “you’re not black” 😂 idgaf tho I was gonna be AI no matter what. And as a 33 year old man I still buy iverson gear and shoes 🤷🏽♂️ my 🐐
Sorry in advance for the lame question, but when Matt Barnes mentions "Chuck", who is he referring to?
Man Just Seeing this it’s like finally someone tells the Truth Ai Dominated his Era his way that’s why he was loved truly unmatched Best Players Dominated their Era MJ Iverson Kobe Lebron he needs to be in the convo of top 5 and stop disrespecting that man He deserves even if he don’t say it himself Paul George u already know my brother let it be heard!
*AI would be in the hood. He was a regular at a North Philly strip club called The Piccadilly. Off of 30th & Allegheny*
I love AI as a player, but now after basketball to hear him talk he always sound sad to me
Ikr
AI probably had the biggest impact on the NBA right next to MJ. Everybody wanted to play, fly and wear the shoes like MJ. But all the players and fans wore the braids, tats, sleeves, clothes like AI.
Everyone says that but how
PG Please Read🙏🏽🙏🏽
Again, another 213 led domination!! That’s how Clipper nation knows how the 213 can lead🙌🏽👏🏽💪🏽!! PG, you are playing at an All World level right now and getting everyone else on board to play true, high intensity, defense first, unselfish juggernaut offense, Clipper Basketball that’s going to Hang the Banner, allow you and the 213 to put on the goggles in the locker room, Break the Curse✝🙏🏽, and get all four of the 213 into the Hall✝!!! You and the rest of the 213 are leading this team in the right direction…upward☝🏽. Mamba Mentality💪🏽! We certainly aren’t peeking yet, not until the end of June💪🏽💪🏽🙌🏽! Keep up the intensity on the defense first as well as spreading the floor and the ball on the offensive end, making defenses have a difficult time to guard all the offense of weapons we have💪🏽. We can’t rest on our laurels or get complacent. Clipper nation is liking what we’re seeing, and we know this is the year for us to win the Chip with you, and the rest of the 213 leading us to the promised land, ascending to NBA greatness and making history!!! We got this!!! Lets Go!!!
