I wanted to see Wicked since I was 9 and I first heard the song Popular sung by Kristen Chenowith. I became obsessed with it and my best friend went to see it 3 times but I couldn't afford it. Last year, for my 13th birthday, my parents surprised me with tickets to go see it on the West End and I was totally ecstatic. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is really an underrated classic. A live-remake should do it justice for the underrated classic, by fixing its story and draw its power in its source material.
And there's one director who could nail the live-action remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Alfonso Cuaron.
And there's also actors and actresses that can nail these characters:
Quasimodo - Eddie Redmayne (aided with a practical makeup and prosthetics)
    Esmeralda - Alicia Vikander
Judge Claude Frollo - Richard E. Grant
    Captain Phoebus - Oscar Isaac
    Clopin Trouillefou - Lin-Manuel Miranda
    Archdeacon - Anthony Hopkins

I think Tim Burton should direct the upcoming remake, and that Jim Carrey should play Clopin.

The studio cast recording of Hunchback is much better than the movie. There are many more songs and there is much more to the story (with the annoying gargoyles and goat removed). It is still a Disney musical production but never made it to Broadway.
