It's not only in my opinion the only true highlight of the entire TV show.
This manner of singing and this VOICE are two of the reasons to be an incurable fan of this outstanding young lady ... :o)

I really don't understand why hasn't any major studio tried to make her a worldwide superstar in the last 10 years. She has the voice, looks, charisma.

What a lovely reinterpretation. Stunning
I was looking today for the best version of this song, I stopped searching, I found it. This is the best version I have heard due to it tried to cover the same song arrangement that Eva Cassidy did, not anyone can due that; that has to be thanked to this girl. However, I must say that this is way far from Eva´s version, Eva was unique angel, and as such, she is now in heaven. Yohanna had to support on pauses in order to reach Eva´s notes, when Eva did in a perfect melted way with an extraordinary ease, no pauses. Eva´s version is also much more touching and none ever is going to equal her.
This is not at all one of the best cover versions of this song. I dont know about recorded covers but I have heard at least ten far better cover versions of the song. Even In my home land Hungary I have heard better versions from singers who are not known outside my country.

Songbird is not an Eva Cassidy song, it was released in 1988 posthumously on a Cassidy album. It was written 10 years prior by Christine Prefect (Mc Vie) and it was released with the Rumours album by the band Fleetwood Mac .

This is Eva Cassidy's rendition of Songbird. It was originally sing by Christie mcvie/Fleetwood Mac who sang it differently. Eva changed this song so wonderfully and now everyone is singing her version & getting kudos as if they had sung it this way first. No one does it like the late great Eva Cassidy!

Her last name is Jónsdóttir, mostly everyone in iceland or from iceland that is female has their last name ending with "dóttir" - it means daughter.. so she is the daughter of Jón.. which in english would probably be John.. so she's John's daughter.. basically..

She's so beautiful and talented but unfortunately very underrated. She could become even more successful in Europe and other parts of the world with the right material and some heavy promotion, she's up there with Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys imo. Beautiful performance!
