For those who don’t know me I’m a Guatemalan based in Denver Colorado. I started making music after going to a festival called Semana de Musica Avanzada. Were I saw a video on how the Guatemalan Electronic music had started. I had 0 musical training or experience.
So I decided to get Ableton live and a Midi Keyboard and figure it out. Soon after I figured out that it was not going to be easy. I saw music as a way to express feelings, emotions and connect with people.
Now 10 years later I have released in labels like Global Underground, Babiczstyle, and Moody Recordings. I have been able to releases alongside artist’s likes of Robert Babicz, Xpansul, Jaceo, Jonas Tempel, Ben A and Rick Wade. I Love blending gritty organic sounds with Latin instrumentation, celebrating My Latin roots and bringing that uniqueness to my production.
I served as Mentor for Redline ArtCorps a network of programs that support the arts at under-resourced schools in RedLine’s community of Five Points. By establishing strong connections between art, education, and the community, ArtCorps increases student’s opportunities for creative engagement in schools, allowing for a more rigorous and well-rounded education. I mentored Evan to learn how to produce music and channel his energy into music.
During my period with Redline, I understood that passing down knowledge has more impact and that Is why I decided to start my RUclips channel journey and help people interested in making music in a non-technical way with videos about music production based on my experience and mistakes that I've made in my music production journey.

Thanx for a great video .. ! I A thought , if I send a fully finished song, mix and mastered , why would I want a label to release it :)?
If you are a guitarist, songwriter you might want to send it to a publisher so they can find you the right placement. They could send it to a label for a big artist to pick it up or try to place it in tv or radio. But, they need good quality to do so.

Hi Mayen! I'm all prepped to start sending demos (and that's on you, thank you so much!), I only have one doubt: I have 4 "best" songs, and I can't seem to be able to choose 3. Would it be too bad to send the 4 of 'em?
(One of them is the most commercial, hit-material, one of them is a regular favourite of my friends, the other one is the most inventive, and the other one tends to hype up my audiences the most.)
Do you think the 4 showcase different styles?

@@SerenaKaos it’s different when you are a singer and songwriter than making beats or electronic music. The record labels will explore the different styles to see how versatile you can be. If they make sense together and are different I

Hi I am planning on sending demos to record labels in Taiwan and I'm wondering if I should record myself sing using a dslr camera or go to a recording studio? I'm on a strict budget right now.

love your content. if my music is on point how long does it take a major label to respond with yes ? and what should I do if there is no response what is the right action for me (I will say again if my music is 100% unbelievable by many people thoughts)

@@rapyourbeat9997 I would suggest for you to grow your social media following. When big record labels look at artist they tend to not want to start from 0 to build an artist. Since it’s a business for them it’s not all about the music. They want to make sure they get their investment back. I think you should start with Tik Tok and insta. Are you doing any shows?
Yes i do but not that big of reacting kind of shows and if i want to biuld fanbase they should be fans that loves what i mainly do which is pop music right ? Cant i just start with a distribution deal or i have to distribute it my own and sucrifiece with my first song ?
@@rapyourbeat9997 I think by building your fanbase with teasers and cool little 20 dec vids you can get them to share your music. Then if you choose to release something you can use BandCamp. Or do a follow per download of your track.
So I have a question, how would I find a way to contact the label. I’ve looked all over Atlantic records and other labels but just can’t find a way to send demos to them. I also only don’t have any friends that are really into music like I am, I only have my iPhone mic and a Yamaha keyboard that has different sound settings. I am writing my own songs, and have showed them to people and they tend to like them. I just really don’t know that’s my problem. Also is posting covers on RUclips a good way to get noticed by a label . I’m already posting covers although all of them are not my best. I’m sorry for this lengthy comment I just really don’t know where to even start with really trying to get a labels attention or even a deal with them, plus I can’t even afford better equipment to work with until December ( mainly because we don’t have that much money and good equipment is expensive ) and I guess as a side note I’m only 14. Again sorry for the long comment and if it is all over the place.

Mayen Music sorry for not replying I was in school. I’m creating music in the pop genre, it’s not up yet but I’m going to put it on sound cloud when I record it, I might not be able to put it up right away because of all the background noise so I have to record at night

To be honest, I don’t think is a good idea, because they will not spend time or money clearing the songs for your album if they decide to sign you.
