Norwegian song writer, Alan Walker wrote this song. He has such deep respect and admiration for his fellow Norwegian, Angelina that he invited ten year old Angelina to perform at an outdoor concert in Norway. Angelina performed two of Alan’s songs, “Sing Me To Sleep” and “Faded”.
It was dark. I was not aware it was an outdoor concert.

I really love Angelina's live performances. She's so comfortable on stage, and her arrangements really allow her incredible voice to shine. No autotune. No dancers. No flashing lights. Just a young woman with a microphone, reaching out to touch people's souls.

What I find so remarkable is Angelina’s behavior. She may be eleven years old in this performance, but it’s her unbelievable level of maturity and professionalism that is most striking for me. I feel like I’m watching a fully grown woman, in a child’s body, singing as though she is a decades old seasoned professional. I have never encountered anyone like Angelina in my life.

11 years old! We are listening to her soul. If you go to the Opera Theater and listen to someone singing in Italian and you start tearing up without having a clue of what they are saying it's because you get wrapped up in the moment. When we listen to Angelina it's like we are going to the Opera Theater and we get emotional as soon as we walk in the door. The sound of her voice touches us with waves of love in it's purest form and we may listen to her with tears of joy in our heart, or with tears of sadness, or with eternal hope everything will be okay and most of all our heart lets her know we love her very much. I say this over and over again but it's so important, she sings 'for us' and our hearts know that. What other artist who we admire do we think about at breakfast, or during the day, or in the evening, or when we are ready to go to sleep. When did this evolution begin? The moment our heart first heard her voice.

Angelina knells down gets a drink of water like any of us would do, brushes back her hair, stands up to the mic opens her mouth to sing, once again like anyone, then outcomes a voice no one has or can equal. She is stunning.
Angelina is the most humble artist with all the gifts of superstardom in abundance. In my opinion, her version of "Faded" far surpasses the original in emotional performance and vocal beauty.

this is a Robby Burns poem arranged by the composer Nico Cartosio for his album Melting this was all instrumental except for 1 song which he asked Angelina to sing, I think she was 12 years old or may be younger, this is something total different from anything else she has performed

This was the concert when she totally slowed the song down by half a step and really made it her own. My gosh, her voice completely melts you as she sings. She, of course, did this song right after Sing Me To Sleep, at Alan Walker’s Coming Home LIVE in Bergen, Norway where he does this gorgeous orchestral concert in 2016, for her at first time at singing this song when she was just 10. She also did this song at Muse in South Korea in 2017, I think it’s the second time on film, and she kept close to the original time when she sang it in South Korea, although she was with, I think, just Egil Clausen at that time. Finally, she completely Re-Angelina’s the song here at The Prøysen Festival, just completely amazing! All of this when she was still just 11, or comparable to a fifth grader, talk about breaking your brain. 🥰
Yes, the one for Alan Walker was first and was very good although her voice breaks at one point. She was 10 years old and I think she was going through a bit of a voice change as children do at that age. It was still excellent. Next came this one at Prøysenfestivalen 21 Jul 2017. After that came Sandefjord 12 Jul 2017 which was very much like this one, but the audio of the recording on Mery's channel is not as good as this one. Then came Muse in the City Festival 2017 - Seoul, South Korea. And yes, Egil was there and accompanied her on most songs, but not this one. There is a recording that has had the audio and video both cleaned up and may well be my favorite even though she's using a backing track instead of a live band, but she is interacting with the audience, smiling and waving and I like that a lot. The last one I know of is Larkollen 19 Jul 2017.

Hi Y'all from Georgia , Deb. A.J. sang this song previously when she was only 10. The original artist is Alan Walker ( another famous Norwegian composer and musician ). Alan Walker invited ANGELINA to open his streamed - Alan Walker is coming home concert with two of his most famous songs ( Sing me to sleep and Faded ). Not bad for a 10 year old.

A small crowd of very lucky people were incredibly lucky to witness such an assured, relaxed and professional performance from the young Angelina (and a great band too). From the Prøysenfestivalen in the beautiful Norwegian countryside. We are so, so lucky to have a record of it. One of my favourites, thank you!

I have watched this and her Alan Walker concert songs many times. When she singing at at the AW concert. I am mesmerized every time., to the point that nothing else exists around me. I try to close my eyes and just listen but I just can’t take my eyes off of her for the two songs. It’s a combination of her voice, her outfit, her arm movements and facial expressions, along with the orchestra and the atmosphere. I do believe you will be left speechless. ❤

Suggestions for your next reaction. MARY’S BOY CHILD, the audio only version recorded a month before her 12th birthday. CRY ME A RIVER, the one with the small jazz band, not the one with the military orchestra. That one is good, too, but not as intimate. Use the one that’s says “audio enhancements by pa1189j”. Also from that same concert, LOVIN’ YOU. I’m sure others have recommended that one, too.

Hey Debbie, wherever possible I try to promote this legendary concert (part of Proysen Festival 2017) - especially "Lovin' you" and "Cry me a river", both songs go very well with the great jazz band Angelina is accompanyied here - but not this song.
“Faded” is a very famous EDM track (more than 3.3 billion YT views and 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, its music video is #14 most watched music video on YT) by world-renowned music producer and DJ Alan Walker. Alan released an acoustic version of the song titled "Faded (Restrung)" in early 2016, intended to be performed with piano and strings, with all EDM elements removed. So a jazz band isn't the perfect accompaniment.
There is a recording with more appropriate backing that is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. To describe the emotional impact of this performance as twice as high as this one from 2017 is a very understatement. It's the first act of the final concert of Alan's 2016 world tour and Angelina performed "Faded" and "Sing me to Sleep" there accompanied by a full symphony orchestra (mainly but not only strings) and the composer himself on piano.
You could say 10yo Angelina is tiny and sweet there in 2016, but here at Proysenfestival (part of her 2017 summer festival tour) she is as tall as her adult backing singers and the overall look leaves no doubt that she is in the lead.

It's so flawless and so easy for her at 11 years of age is mind blowing. Her tone is wonderful still, at this time the voice starts to mature of age and changes but still her tone was impressive, like a lullaby.

You still need to see her do the two songs she was asked to open Allen Walkers concert when shecwas 10 years old,, this was her second song at that concert.. You can look up Allen Walker or Angelina Jordan singing "SING ME TO SLEEP" and then "FADED" if you have the time it's worth starting from the start with a long build up I think the whole thing is like 8 or 9 minutes but she is worth it,,, this was a large live concert with thousands attending and also live streamed to millions AJ had no nerves,, however most didn't even know she was sick with a sore throat and a 102fever but insisted to go on....

The songwriter of this song Alan Walker(who is an extremely talented Norwegian artist as well) has said that no one can sing his songs better than Angelina. Also, he was just a teenager when he wrote this song as I believe he is only about 8 years older than Angelina. For a country with only about 6 million people, Norway has some amazing artists. But in my opinion, Angelina is at the top of all that incredible talent. Another fantastic reaction on your part as well.

The year before this, when she was TEN, she opened the concert for Alan Walker (a Norwegian musician/songwriter/producer) for his "coming back home" tour of Norway. She sang two originals of his, and "Faded" is one of them! The other was a beautiful lullaby-type song called "Sing Me to Sleep." You really should go back and react to those as well! Blessings!
