Awesome video. I have done horseshoe and railroad spikes that are just dying for some creativity. Excellent videos. Now onto finding your How to Video.
Unfortunately no...it's been like -10 below here, and feels like -30 in the garage (minor exaggeration may have occurred ), but am putting in heater soon....THAT being said, i DO need to get some work done
I've had a a pile of horseshoes stashed for a special project for what feels like forever ... I don't think I'm going to miss eight of them. They're all fullered, which is nice, but also have toe clips and nails still in which means another hour with the grinder I suppose. Thanx for showing your design and technique.
Hello Barbie. I know this video is a couple of years old, but just getting back into welding after a couple decade break. ;-) Just got a Lincoln 180 and love it. Love your ideas and projects and easy explanations. Thank you for all of the great ideas. Kevin.
I’m so happy to hear you’re getting back into it!! Welding is so unlimited as to what you can do! The possibility makes me happy! I’ll be making new videos soon!
I enjoyed the video I also make horse shoe projects, nobody wants to buy them so became other designs and gifted. I enjoyed making my kids names and giving as BD gifts. I use TIG myself. I made coat racks, boot scrapers and picture frames shape of flowers. Will keep watching I like the ideas you have.
Bruce Kennedy thanks for taking the time to watch! If you ever share your art on Facebook or Instagram tag @barbiethewelder so I can see! I have projects that start out as one thing and then end up being something different too!
I made one for my wife following your example. My wife loved it. I was going to post a picture of it with this comment, but I guess that can't be done. Anyway, thanks for teaching an old dog new tricks.
Nice work, I've been making horseshoe art for a couple of decades, but I have always created with used ones so they are more unique. I sell them through creator and makers markets and give a warranty with them. For finishing I use a high heat BBQ paint that I bake on in an oven, then spray with a clear coat made for car rims because it doesn't discolour or crack. Inside or outside, the finish will last for a minimum of a decade.
No guard on the grinder, I take it you have not had a cut off wheel come apart yet. Probably have a guard one once that happens. It hurts just to warn you sometimes down to the bone.
derrick felix Thank you! I am using a Lincoln 140C MIG welder with .030 wire. Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch the video! Hope it helps!! 💙👩🏭
+Lobo Nino unless you have the same welder and wire and material thickness my settings won't help you. I have a how To mig Weld video where I explain how to tune in your welder.
Don't know offhand what my welder is. All I can remember at the moment, is that it's a Miller, about the same size as the welder in your training video. I am running .030 wire, and I am planning on getting the same type of horse shoes as in this vid. I just like how smooth your welder sounds.
I made one this afternoon for my GF who's starting her 3rd week in the hospital. It cheered her up. 🙂
And you got my wife to watch a welding video. Inspirational. Thank you ma'am. I appreciate you taking the time to make this.
+ShootSaturday awesomeness!!!
