some of the best solo work from frank ever !!! I know steve was on this too but frank took it to a new level ...his work his band. period! once again awesome work
But seriously though....What on the face of God's grey Earth were the Zappa Family Trust smoking when they decided *not* to include this track (and multiple others!!) in the official DVD release of the concert?!??! A few of the omitted tracks were included as *Bonus features* (why???)...but they didn't even include this...possibly the highlight of the entire show!! Does anyone know why they decided to *butcher* the concert like that?? Talk about a waste...
I have been wondering the same thing! Now that the vault's contents have been digitized, they should simply release everything. I would pay a considerable amount of money for an actually complete Zappa collection. They could do it like Neil Young does on his website archive. Knowing that there are so much more gems, we might have to wait for another decade to be released (if ever), is constant pain.
"The Torture Never Stops" was put together in '82 for Honker Home Video. The same year the show that was broadcast live in '81 was shown as a rerun, with "Sinister Footwear II" edited out. FZ maybe thought that it wasn't good enough to keep. You know, being a perfectionist.
