64 countries have used the P-35 Hi Power for military and police. It fought on both sides in WWII. There are several versions that have detachable shoulder stocks that are NFA exempt
I rarely come across one in 40 S&W. One day I'll find one for a reasonable price and buy it. I do have exactly the same gun in 9mm I bought new back in the mid 90's. The two tone finish was called the "Browning Hi Power Practical" It has gone through thousands of rounds of every type & weight of bullet. manufacture, and case type and has never malfunctioned. It's also more accurate than most of the people that have shot it. Everyone that shoots it wants to buy it. I bought a Cylinder & Slide matched hammer and sear for it many years ago & it now has a 3 1/2lb crisp & smooth trigger. This + the original adjustable sites allow for very accurate long range fun.
This is what I wanted exactly, but couldn't find one, so I bought a Ruger which is an almost exact copy of a high power.. and I have been happy ever since.
I know the 9 Minimal Fan Club membership will have a complete melt down over this but the BEST possible improvement anybody could make to the John Browning et al design was to go with the far superior .40S&W. If I were blessed to find a pistol like yours in .40S&W I might even consider using one of my beloved "JM" Marlin or '99 Savage rifles as trading material. Maybe.....
Nice pistol, I didn’t know they made it in 40 cal, honestly you don’t really see to many pistols in 40 these days. That thing is really accurate too, nice shooting.
I own one in 40 but not two tone great pistol great shoot great video thanks Paul do you have the case and all the original paper work and range bag that came with it
I didn't know the also chambered the Hi Power in .40cal ,more power just less rounds , its always a trade off. It always surprised Me that the US military didn't make more use of them during WW2, although the Germans did (and apparently those that did unsurprisingly enough loved them) of course they had captured the factory that made them so who can blame them . Thanks Paul , catch You next Time . Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well.

You should see how that nickel plated S&W 9mm of yours stacks up against the Hi-power, they were competitors back in the day👍👍👍😁

My brother had bought one in 9mm in the late 70's. I don't remember it having a safety on both sides I only remember it being on the left.
