It was overwhelming and powerful in person. I took my two daughters and my mom, it was astounding and magnificent. If you ever have the opportunity to see it in person please do. It's such a beautiful memory to last a lifetime.

This is such a beautiful musical. My husband took me on a date night to see it and it was amazing. The beginning with the circle of life brought tears to my eyes. Everything is amazing, with costumes, scenery and music, this show is great for all. It definitely is a must see.

I've seen this twice and I could LITERALLY see this a hundred more and never get sick of it....such incredible talent....the costumes, makeup, the actors...everything was so amazing. I still give props to the giraffes.
I saw this on broadway several years ago - the costumes, the singing, the set etc..it’s all phenomenal!
I was fortunate enough to see it three times! I saw it once in New York when I was 10 and twice when it came to my town at ages 12 and 16 respectively!
It’s my favorite Disney movie/Broadway musical ever!

It's all over the world, and they have one team that travels from city to city. I saw it twice when it came to Edmonton, Canada. I really hope to see it again :)

This is one of the most visually astounding plays ever. It’s so amazing how the animal heads and the people wearing animal outfits and all the garb just works. Who ever dreamed up the costuming is a genius.
Julie Taymore. She won the Tony Awards for best costume design in 1998 for what she did.

It saddens me that I can only hit the 'Like' button once....I have watched this performance at least 100 times, and still can't get enough ( I get teary-eyed every time) I mean, the Giraffes & Elephants... are you kidding me?!!1 SO profoundly beautiful, I can hardly stand it!!💞💕
I saw the musical 3 times in the early 2000's. I saw them once in LA and twice in San Francisco. With the original cast each time and the original and amazing Rafiki every time as well. One of the times was with my autistic daughter and her friends for her Sweet 16th birthday.They perform in smaller theaters to give the audience the BEST experience and to benefit the theatres themselves which I fully support. When the life sized elephant and giraffe came trodding from the back of the theater through the audience, I grabbed my heart as it moved me so. My daughter and her friends LOVED IT! There were tears everywhere. They STILL talk about it. She's now 33.I'm awestruck each time I see this performed as I go back to how I felt then! IF you are reading this and you haven't seen it, I urge you to try to see at least once performance. It will change you and stay with you forever!
The Lion King "Circle of Life" performance moved me to tears. I could not understand what in the world was wrong with me until I read others experienced the same emotion. I initially saw the performances of "Circle of Life", on Late Night TV and also on the "2022", Thanksgiving Day Parade. I plan to see the Broadway Production this year. Thanks to all involved.

I love how they included the last chorus with the key change from "King of Pride Rock" from the album. It changes from B flat major to D flat major.
Correction: I didnt check the actual kry they are singing in but the key change sounds like the same interval jump as the original recording. Its a minor third up.

In 2003 in Charlotte NC I saw the Lion King for the first time and fell in love with the show. I would go to work on Monday and book airline tickets to go see it in NYC and London the following year. 27 performances later it still takes my breath away. Next year for my 57th birthday were going to Columbia SC to see it and I can not think of a better show to have my boyfriend experience as his first Broadway show.
Saw the musical many years ago at the Lyceum in London. Never expected to get this emotional from this intro number but it did. Tears started streaming from my eyes as soon as they started singing. It was so beautiful and magnificent. Love how they put together this one in our modern world. ❤️

I seriously have to see this on Broadway! I saw the touring production in LA at the Pantages in 2001, but I really want to see it again and in its original place.
Fantastic! Having only watched it from a far seat at a West End production decades ago, finally here we get to see in close up the intricate details and beauty of the puppetry, costumes and make up of each character and creature here!

When she was dancing on the observation deck from the tower, I would have loved it if they had shown Simba from there, with shots of the cast underneath the observation deck, on the groundfloor looking up. It would have been so good. Then, I also would have had the shots of all the animals coming together, 1 shot at a time.
Mom took my daughter and I to New York by bus to see this many years ago. When it came to Providence I took mom and my daughter - mom was suffering with Alzheimer’s and I wasn’t sure we would get through the entire production, we did with me crying through most of it because mom was totally enjoying it. Mom passed in December. What would I give to see this again with her………

Wow this is beautiful and I have chills. Can't imagine what it's like seeing this show and can't imagine what the atmosphere feels like seeing this show in person.
It came to my city on tour once. It was absolutely amazing. The drum beat corses through you and you feel like crying. At the closing note everyone explodes with applause.

It’s like nothing else. If I had to choose only one show to limit myself to forever, I’d pick this one.
Seen this twice already. Going to take my 11 year old daughter to see it now that it’s back on Broadway.
I think the 21st century needs more of these street perfomances. I would pay to watch a show like this outside.

Seeing this live in early June 2022 was a dream come true. It was amazing. I will definitely see it if I get the chance again.
Idky they couldn't have had Broadway shows outside in the park where the audience was 6' apart. I love going to see Broadway shows in NYC. I am going to go broke catching up on all of my musicals.
Saw this two nights ago for my birthday, at Minskoff Theatre. Absolute dream come true, and this opening number made me tear up! Everything from the acting, to the singing, dancing, costumes, and storytelling are so perfect in this production! Can't wait to go back and see it again!
