- This group routine marked 17th straight victory at All Japan Inter-College Championship.
[Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics] Men’s rhythmic gymnastics (MRG) is a sport invented in Japan nearly 70 years ago. There are two variations of MRG, individual (where gymnasts perform solo with one of four apparatus) and team, which focuses on tumbling, flexibility, balance, and synchronization. Today there are nearly 2,000 men’s rhythmic gymnasts active in Japan, from junior clubs up through top universities.

I think the anime is loosely based on this and the anime is created to promote men's rhythmic gymnastics of Japan
Tbh it's not surprising to see this, the anime is probably created to further promote and develop the Men Rhythmic Gymantics (group division) in Japan. And seeing this high level of performance isn't a joke specially the last tumbling pass that section requires utmost trust and proper execution of skills at the right timing.
obviously almost every anime sport will be based on real life such as yuri on ice :))

@@mcmanpa They are athletes who have taken their athletic prowess to the next level. I say this is art but not in a way that excludes athleticism, but in a way that has gone beyond even that. They are sportsmen still but ones who have transcended sport into art.
I wish this was more a global thing than just a Japanese one so it can be included as an Olympic event.

i think its not actually an official liveaction of the anime. but we can assume that it was inspired by this.

Real life Bakuten!! The school names, the outfits and the choreographies all matched! And they did the most difficult choreography like misato and futaba as well😭
Я недавно досмотрела это аниме, и как же это всё похоже. Их хореография такая сложная, а синхронизация меня поражает. Я тоже заметила схожесть их костюмов, а ещё там был трюк где два парня с противоположной стороны делали сальто и один был выше а другой ниже. Но это детали четверо парней. Как же меня заворожила эта хореография, пришли приятные воспоминания об аниме😌

Synchronized floor-ex for men? YES, please! This is an entirely different discipline from what we see in the Olympics and it's fascinating/mesmerizing/amazing!
This is one of those sports that is better watched in real life performance compared to the anime Just WOWW
It's INCREDIBLE in person.... the atmosphere is totally electric and you can feel the tension. Nothing like the sound of bodies hitting the spring floor at full speed!
They're so perfectly coordinated that some parts of the routine look like one guy got shopped into the video at different angles. SO amazing.
Every ballerina in a corps de ballet needs to take notes. You always see that one trying to stick out and become prima. These guys show the beauty of being perfectly in sync.
I was shocked seeing this performance after finishing Backflip(the anime) weeks ago. I was so familiar with the music and the steps I felt as if I'm watching a live action. This performance really is better in real life. Anyways, I feel very proud watching them perform! They're so talented and flexible. I don't know how gymnastic is like but in my eyes they're doing awesome. This and the anime gave me some motivation to do productive stuffs and start moving around cause for the whole month since January I've only been on my phone, on the bed and sleeping so thank you. Such a wonderful and beautiful performance.

Actually, they do train to breathe in unison according to their movements. Before they start their practice, 6 members on the team try to synchronize their breathing first, then start moving. You can hear how they breathe at a certain point of their movement

Wow! The beauty of motion and rhythm made me think of Ballet! I think this takes much more athleticism than many other sports!

I didn't realize that rhythmic gymnastics included a Freehand option (i.e. without an apparatus of ball, hoop, rope, etc.). What a joy to watch! Additionally, I firmly believe that, as far as gender equality has come to include women, I think the same should be offered to men and how they wish to showcase their 'masculinity.' Sadly, the sports in which men compete limit themselves to what would be deemed a socially acceptable display of masculine energy. The notions of grace, elegance, and poise that are associated with female energy should not be limited to women. Men should be able to display these qualities in a sport, too! Figure Skating might be the only opportunity we see this in an Olympic setting. Olympic Committee, I hope you remain more inclusive and offer Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics as a competitive sport! It's wonderful to watch. The same could be said about Synchronized Swimming even! Let men and women both have the option to be as tough, as gruff, as feminine, as masculine, as they wish!
Mixed duets in synchronized swimming might be a part of the Olympics by 2024. But I would love to see both male and female groups as well as mixed ones, like, can you imagine! And male rhythmic gymnastics should definitely be a part of the Olympics too. Ideally, there shouldn't be male-only\female-only sports at all.

First i can tell u that in woman rithmic gymnastic exists the option of no apparatus for juniors... basically thats how u start and its your first taste of competition. Second... although I agree with your opinion and I would like to see man doing rithmic gymnastic this is not. Its a combination between artistic and aerobic gymnastic. Rithmic Gymnastic is more close to ballet than artistic gymnastic. That doesn't change the fact that they're entertaining.
I think it's better if everyone should just remove that feature in their eyes that tells them this is masculine that is feminine, u included.
@@nikkohime8064 this specific sport is unique to Japan, and they happen to call it rythmic gymnastics. It has nothing to do with the normal women rythmic gymnastics.
I love the fluidity, the synchronization, the air they get on those flips…it is awesome
I have no idea how this got on my recommended list but boy am I glad it did. It was riveting! The music perfectly complemented their moves and I was just thinking how difficult it must have been to perfect their gymnastic moves because if any one jumped too high or too low, not only would it ruin the aesthetics but also the timing. Knowing just how much time and hard work went into the routine just made me appreciate more how effortless they made it all look.

That was a perfect combination of athleticism and choreography. Not only were the gymnasts insanely talented and precise, the moves were fresh and recalled both ballet and street dancing in places. Absolutely breathtaking.
