BG3 is the only game my friends and I have played where we were planning our next run in the middle of playing. For us, it has been the best game ever.
I've been gaming since the early 80's and BG3 sits at #1 on my all time greatest games list, and is now my most played game ever as well. I'm in the middle of a run now and have no intentions of stopping after it's done.
There are actually 3 copies sold in Vatican. There were 2, and now Douse said that they sold another one, which begs the question: is it the father, the son, and the holy.... you know, these guys xD Another one, ofc, is Pope doing embrace or resist Durge run?
The "feature" that apparently you can't mention on their forums. "Gosh and tarnation! How did that get there?" I don't think Larian has a very high opinion of WotC and Hasbro right now.

The only RPG I’ve played was Skyrim Elder Scrolls, and I really enjoyed the freedom within the game and how large the world seemed (until I got stuck in a certain part of the game and have never figure out how to get past that point). I’ve been thinking about getting BG3 for a couple of months now, and am wondering if it’s worth buying now since I think it might still be on sale (I checked last week)
I paused just as I was entering Act 2. I had 80 hours in just act 1 doing quite literally every single thing I could find in playthroughs. Sometimes multiple times to see how it plays out differently. Save scumming. I know I'll never do another playthrough no matter how much I love the game. I rarely do, I just have so many games but still. I'm about to pick it back up as I'm finsihing up my Dragon Age Origins and Half Life 2 Episodes up shortly. Playing Red Dead Redemption on PC too.
WotC pissed off the TTRPG community and then layed off the D&D team that advised Larian. Sven being a good person said he wanted none of that. Not to mention: the team wanted to work on new projects unrelated to D&D.
@@DWlsh43 I would lean more towards DoS 1 for the combat though. The armor and shield system was pretty rough. As much as I appreciate how challenging the game was it made elemental surfaces way too hard to use. And the teleport spam from both players and enemies was too much.
Yes, mods add longevity and help sales. Good on Larian to paying attention to that and working with modders. Hopefully, Bioware pays attention to everything Larian did right and applies those lessons to Mass Effect 5.
Bioware sadly has shown it is incapable of doing anything like Larian. Bg3 is the true heir to BG1, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect. Bioware prefers politics to computer games.
Bioware will learn nothing. After Andromeda, Anthem and even ME3's god awful "traffic light" ending, Veilguard isn't an accidental misstep. *It's a trend.* Natural progression of studio's decay
and it was $60 with no MTX or DLC. it's still surreal to look back and see it win GOTY. neil winning best performance. and the slew of smaller awards they got. such a work of art man. the only game i'll *happily* clear space for
the part that made me fall in love with the game was talking to Shadowheart and she gave me something personal about herself, I asked her to be honest in the future about such things, to which the said okay to. and ever since that conversation talking to her, she ACTUALLY tells me about things she didn't previously. Most games I've played the character seemingly forgets we had that conversation and still doesn't open up. I LOVE that detail.
the part that made me truly fall in love with it and actually start playing it was when Veilguard came out. I had it since it first came out and never played it before. Its one of the best fantasy games i played in a real long time

While it is interesting to theorize, specifically dark fantasy from Larian is the least likely given their overall whimsical style. Although they never shied away from serious topics, even in DOS1-2 (especially in DOS2, given that DOS1 has been written for like 3 days at best), but the artstyle and overall tone were always with a great deal of whimsy. Out of all their acts/writting act2 is the least Larian act ever, it has linear map design, overall linear story in it, albeit with great depth and branching and RP options, it has completely serious tone and there are places/spaces on the map devoid of content to fit the tone. Act3 of BG3 is basically the ultimate Larian game in both tone, design, writing and so forth. Unless they completely change their design philosophy and writing, I don't see them ever doing dark fantasy.
I hope a better ending for Karlach is added. Most possible endings for her are tragic, and she deserves to be able to live in Faerun without her engine exploding.
Dude! Like, you can get Wyll out of his pact, you can raid the fucking house of hope, there's no in-story reason why you shouldn't be able to get into Zariel's house and fix Karlach for good. i mean sure, that's a lot of content to be added and whatnot, so i can understand if the devs aren't willing to put that amount of time into the game, but i found it rather unsatisfying that you can give any companion their "Happy" ending, except Karlach.
@@thomasmann4536Apparently, they did have a happy ending possible for Karlach originally. It was a quest that took place in the upper city, but the upper city content was cut, including the quest to completely fix Karlach’s engine. I hope they add this possibility back in in a future update.
@thomasmann4536 as someone whos been to Avernus, I can assure you... theres no reason to defeat her. Just let her be. Shes doing the good work down there.
the modding community will come to your rescue ! ... with larian "accidentally" realeasing dev tools keys , ai like eleven labs to mimic voices etc or even just cut paste sound bites from character lines , you'll dfienitely have no shortage of content . for ex - shadhowheart marraige mod content was made entire using ingame lines , and it absolutely feels authentic.
If they are making two games, one BG3 like and on new thing, I hope the new thing is a sci fi. Imagine a future where they got one fantasy and one sci fi RPG from them like Bioware did with Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
I always dreamed of a sci-fi space opera where you can actually play as aliens. We got dozen playable races in both BG3 and TES, but sci-fi? Only hoomans.
@deptusmechanikus7362 Huh. Now that you say that, I never realized that. Any sci-fi game I think of (Mass Effect, Starfield, any 40K game) is all humans.
It's almost like making a game with a solid story that allows player choice to meaningfully affect the endings, actually sells. Looking at you Bioware. SMH
It's the dog's bollocks. I've said it before; I'll never live long enough to play it all the different ways you can. I'm only on my third run and haven't even used a mod yet. I love it! 🙂
Would've been an awesome expansion - but hey, we still got modders! I'm hoping for someone to do the Skyrim thing & just develop entirely new zones etc now that the modding toolkit has been unofficially unlocked. Dunno if that would be possible but hey, one can hope
Why do we need to have this tribalism? It's perfectly fine to like both games. I have 600 hours in BG3 and 200 in DAV. They're both great, and very different, games.
I finally got my husband to play it with me and we are already talking about our next run. A certain recent disappointing game release got me to fire it up and mod it a bit and that got my husband into it. We are having so much fun with it. We both tried to romance companions and were both shot down. We are still giggling about it.
@@WeeWeeJumbo What I meant by this comment is that in the future big companies and devs will tend to be more open to mods, creating games basically as bases for players and modders to create personalized experiences to their own taste and perhaps already launching the games with toolkits and support for modders. Mods have existed for 30 years, but always on the margins. Often seen as bad things especially for Chinese companies. This will change when the market realizes that mods immortalize their products, generating more numbers and recognition for the title and the business.
Amazing what happens when a studio takes its time to craft an amazing game that doesn't have any MTX bullshit attached to it while also supporting its modding scene in ALL platforms, not just on PC. I recently started my 3rd playthrough, this time with mods, and it's still got me hooked, maybe even more so now since mods just keep adding more new stuff to it.
I've tried modding in toolkit, it ain't easy if you're trying to build something comprehensive like a new class using the limited resources the game has. I am still determined to continue!
@@TrancerDesigns People said the same about a non Bioware(lol) BG... for all we know, and we can hope, this IP is blessed. Hasbro are horrible and is the reason Larian left, I hope that changes for the new studio tho.
@@SavageDragon999 it depends on who Hasbro hires to make it and they said their gonna take their time looking for the right partner, Owlcat or Obsidian (eh they make good games but are now owned by Microsoft which isn't ideal, kinda curious how Avowed will turn out though) could be good but we just have to wait and see what happens, not to mention it could be difficult for Hasbro to find another partner with how things went with Larian
Good luck to them, honestly. They think that it is purely money dependent, with a billion investment in new games, so truly, good luck. My only wish is that they don't use characters from BG3, but you know they will, just for marketing/luring, because they literally own them as part of the IP (can use in any of their materials/products, like MTG for instance, how they see fit and with any canon they decide for them, just like BG1-2 characters)
I completely understand when many people do not like it, because of Turn Based combat. Still, for me, it is the greatest game I ever played. And I say that, well seeing the many flaws it has. Sometimes I even get mad about some things -- but still this game is without competition for me.
@@MrHulthen I do not think, that everybody must love this game, but it is always great to meet people with an open mind. I always liked turn based more and for me BG3 also was the very necessary revival of the genre. That is another part of its success: As much I see, more turn based games are coming out this or next year, as much I heard.
It's a bit more than that really, many were shut off due to some political influences that were likely introduced to the game which is somewhat apparent as they were added very late into development out of nowhere. Regardless of how true that actually is there are some things there which for some people really upset them which is too bad because while I have my own views as well and dislike for some of it I do not really see much of what people attempt to claim. Starfield for example added the pronoun thing which was a last minute thing and entirely useless yet people had full meltdowns over it, I thought it was clearly stupid and there was no reason for it to be there because its never used after that so whatever, but I sure as hell didn't have a meltdown over it. Actually I didn't really care, I was more upset with how mediocre the game was in general in terms of story, and gameplay etc and the dlc isn't much better really.. Something that baldurs gate 3 does amazingly well and there's so much well crafted content and I still find new things 700+ hours later, I also love pathfinder wotr and I really wished it was a coop game as well but sadly its not.
@@yulfine1688 Currently everybody seems to find something to hate. Particularly the trend to over-politicize game reviews is a trend that turns me off. I literally just finished my third playthrough. And while I'm taking a break to play other stuff, I'm still thinking about 3-5 new characters I want to replay as. This game is just so damn good.
I'm just insane I guess, finished my 8th playthrough and logged in 770hrs this year alone… I may have a problem, my Steam year in review will be pretty impressive that's for sure (or sad depending on your point of view)
Here me out. A game recap recorder for initiative so you can watch your fights playout like a little scene. Idk i think thats a not super hard thing to do that would add a whole new level of playing the game.
I started playing on March this year with 1k+ hrs. Mods made up for 700hrs of the time. And making my own mods + testing mods does also add the game time a lot. (somewhat like Skyrim)
The fact that they not only squashed bugs or polished up the game via these big patches but used them to add new content they really didn't have to add (the epilogue-party, SH's new interactions with the pets at camp, etc) tells it all, I think. This isn't just another business-venture for Larian, it's a labor of love. Which kinda, sorta explains very well why they recently announced they wouldn't be doing BG4 - I guess you can't blame them for wanting to do something else after being this heavily invested into BG3 for so long. I still hope for a new Neverwinter Nights or Icewind Dale from them, but I've no idea what the rights-situation is with those titles and the AD&D-license in general, so this is probably not going to happen. Anyway: Played very heavily for months after release (never was even aware of BG3 during early access). Then I let it rest for quite a while getting back to my usual flight-simming routine. But about a month ago I caught a *nasty* cold (felt worse than my C19-infection) and needed some sort of "comfort-food-gaming", which meant starting another run in BG3. Needless to say, I'm already on my second run now (my eighth or ninth in total), even though the cold has thankfully subsided - and I'm once again totally immersed in the game. And I'm not even using mods... :) Yeah... BG3 really *is* something else and more than deserves all the praise and awards that have been heaped upon it.
I have nearly 900 hours in BG3 and loved every second of it. Many playthroughs and one multiplayer and i still have so much fun with it. What a time to be a gamer❤
I’ve been playing since it came out. Finished another yesterday. Starting another tomorrow as a Monk. Never played that Class before. 😊 can’t wait to play their new Games. To see their new characters and stories!
You know what’s funny? WoTC is planning on making their own D&D video game. Not whatever project sigil is…they want to make an actual BG3 successor so they can keep all of the profits. 😂
I think it's difficult for them to reach BG3's level in terms of greatness. Even without having information about the game, it is already expected that it comes from a place of greed and not pure love like Larian...but let's wait and see what comes out of this.
This was on sale recently, a few days after Veilguard's release, it was priceless seeing them more than double DA's player counts. I wonder if they did that to rub BW's nose in it, haha. All joking aside it's easy to tell this was a passion project, so it's not so strange it's a gem.
The modding culture for BG3 is fantastic and will continue to be robust indefinitely. You didn't even mention that people are working on mods for new areas and campaigns. It's so exciting.
It's probably not as easy for photo mode by the one simple fact... past act 1.. i dont think there are ceilings in most places? It being a mainly top-down kind of game. I've seen someone playing with a 1st person mod and specifically at moonrise... looking up was a bit of a nightmare. Obviously, the game wasn't meant for that. Thus, the lack of ceiling. That's just my thought on it. I can't wait to have it in the game, though!❤
The 100 mod limit actually made me so sad as a console player. It literally deleted ALL 133 mods I had installed, and now one of my character files can't be loaded without all of the mods I had attached to it. I know 133 mods seems ridiculous, but I never had all of them enabled at once and different ones were applied for different playthroughs. But everything I had either improved game function, or added more customization features.
In about ten years time we will randomly hear that background music and it'll immediately bring us back to the first few times we played the game and we will get so nostalgic.
Every time I play through the game, I find entirely new ways to handle situations, to fiddle with the way the story plays out, etc. My most recent with 2 of my buddies? My drow rogue loves taking her blades out. We got to the grove right away, my teammates left me alone for 5 minutes... and apparently Khaga is the first person to react with immediate violence rather than trying to calm down a weapon draw... SOMEHOW at like level 3 and me dead as hell inside the room, we defeated the druids... and then still rescued halsin. The only one, oddly, who didnt like it was Karlach even though we literally never talked to her yet? Even wyll literally stayed with us but Karlach said hell no. It's okay, her head is in my backpack, she's with us in spirit!!
Larian has shown us consistently that they’re a cut above the rest with how they created a game fans want. And its continued with mod support. Showing they understand that what keeps games alive past the year mark, is mods.
I COMPLETELY believe that the Vatican itself would buy a copy. They would want to play it to see what's in it and the effect it may have on the spirituality of the world/their people/society/etal
I was waiting on mods to let me play a Bladesinger Wizard. After it came out, I bought it like overnight, enjoyed the hell out of it, and never looked back!
Baldurs gate released on my 22nd birthday. You imagine the satisfaction I got when I bought it for myself with my money and sang "i don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22" at the top of my lungs.
I’ve honestly been super impressed with the stability with mods. It was rough on load times prior to the last patch but whatever magic Larian did fixed it. I have over 160 mods on Steam Deck and my game runs BEAUTIFULLY. I’ve played over 100 hours with them too at this point. Super impressive.
I am usually into scifi over fantasy but BG3 was definitely the exception and I am bummed that we won't be seeing Larian doing another one but I hope whatever they do next is just as epic!
4:30 Any feature is simple to implement if you do it rushed, with low quality, and little creativity, just like Bethesda often does. But if you truly pour love into what you're creating, with quality, creativity, and attention to small details, then it takes time to make these things. I imagine the reason why BG3's photo mode is taking time is because they're following the second approach. I don't think it will revolutionize the industry, but I do believe it will be a very, very complete photo mode.
BG3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 are the only RPGs where I've actively enjoy replaying or starting up new runs w/out feeling like it'd be a drag or mentally preparing to go through the same long game again. Between the insane amount of freedom and variety, it makes each run feel fresh and never dull. I actually finished my first run of BG3 with my partner and another friend of ours that we started on launch day last year, and finished it like a week ago. Always excited to see play and see more and create a fun journey I never thought was possible.
Mod support is a really important thing. It was a big part of the success of games like Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Baldur's Gate 3 alone is already wonderful. Mods make the game to some endless playable experience. I expect even a total conversion mod some day, like Enderal for Skyrim. So it remains exciting with BG3. :)
There’s also a lot of sales going on at the moment (like Black Friday sales) which are now letting players interested in the game to finally get it at a cheaper price.
Something i have always really liked about Larion, and the reason that they are maybe the best company in top end gaming. They have always hevily supported, even encouraged modding. They also listen to and take into serious consideration what their player base wants. Dont care what they make next, i will buy it
You can also thank EA/BioWare for basically shoving Veilguard players towards BG3 lol. After 100 hours of play time, and finishing Veilguard, I can't wait to get back to Baldur's Gate. BG3 was and is everything that us long-time fans of BioWare used to love in that company and the games they created.
I love this game it's so in depth and well thought out. bought it on PS5 on launch and finished it then my husband platinumed it and I bought another copy for PC and we play on LAN constantly in offline mode so even though he doesn't own a copy we can play on PC together. The updates have been very enjoyable and we are playing a modded campaign together and added more mods half way through with extreme ease and no hiccups (other than Volo being permanently stuck at the Act 1 camp party.)
The fact that BG three sold the game for 80 or $90 Canadian not like stock or two for example 150 Canadian if you want the full version is what is amazing to me. They don’t even do the greedy thing and try to make as much money as we can instead, they just made a really good game and sold it for average price sort of average, but whatever it was worth it.
Italian here: Vatican City isn't only the Vatican as "The Pope and his cardinals" but also Swiss guards, employees, permanent residents, their spouses and children. There are several hundreds citizens. So those 2-3 copies are probably in the hands of very ordinary, not clergy people :)
I've been enjoying Baldur's Gate 3 so much more than I ever thought I would. Unlikely be enjoying it for quite a while after this! I will say, with how well Larian Studios has done, I'd trust them if there was ever a chance to make a BG3-style Delta Green RPG. Would probably be difficult but I'm so interested in the universe that I'd be willing to wait for it
If I could use one phrase to describe BG3, and why it has consistent player numbers, it's "player agency". With the exception of Myrkel, saving the Emperor, Orin, and the Netherbrain, everything in the game is optional content. You can choose to play the game anyway you want, and for the most part your choices affect how the game plays out. You're playing your story. To compare to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, in FF7R you really have no agency. You have to play out the story as the developers intended. You're playing someone else's story, not your own.
I'm sure it helped that there have been so many games that have bombed miserably recently pushing people back to games they do enjoy (older games). Hopefully Larian understands what the players want (since they gave it to us and saw the response so it should be obvious) and try to make their next games with that in mind. I'm not saying it has to be some epic hundred different endings game but just some thing along the same feel as their success with this game, romance-able companions, different paths, ability to be evil, ect. As for not making another BG game, you can make some thing similar with your own story and monsters if you want to keep making that type of RPG; you have the fandom's attention and they will follow even if it doesn't have a long known copyrighted name. It would honestly be funny if they made their own world/lore for the next game and it does even better than BG3.
This is my 4th playthrough and I still find new things i havnt seen before. Not many games can do that. And modders are doing a really great job by adding new loot and stories
Hoping when he says he isn’t working on BG3, he’s actually working on Icewind Dale 3. It really seems like a natural next step. Also, I’d definitely shell out money for an expansion such as Lae’zel and party going after Vlaketh.
I've been a casual gamer since the early 90s and this is easily my favourite game ever, closely followed by Divinity Original Sin 2. I've got 600+ hours on it and plan to do more playthroughs. It's just that good.
I never thought another game would trump my love for Souls games. Was still playing on Elden Ring and back to Dark Souls series when this came out... never played a turn-base combat game that i liked... and this game quickly became my favorite game of all time. And its such a plus you have free movement with the controller. So those who dont wanna play traditionally, dont have to.

If they take the cinematic stuff they brought to bg3 and brought it to DoS II and it's superior combat system.....good god that game would be good
@@DWlsh43 I would lean more towards DoS 1 for the combat though. The armor and shield system was pretty rough. As much as I appreciate how challenging the game was it made elemental surfaces way too hard to use. And the teleport spam from both players and enemies was too much.
A 100-mod limit sounds insane at first - however, checking my list, I am now at 97 mods.
yeah 100 mods isn't many
yeah, the 100 limit is awful. I currently have 386 mods (ofc some of them are just patches) and that limit would kill me
Mods are like crack but it's still free after the first mod 🤣
98
I have like 250, so yeah a limit of 100 is laughable.
I'm approaching 2000 hours and I didn't even play early access. Plz send help...
I feel u man. reached 500 h today
Whew! That must mean my ~1100 hours are totally within the norm... :D
810 hours n not stopping 😅
Y'know, 2000 hours is about 2.74 months.
Healer or rogue? I can play both to help your next play through
Yes, mods add longevity and help sales. Good on Larian to paying attention to that and working with modders. Hopefully, Bioware pays attention to everything Larian did right and applies those lessons to Mass Effect 5.
😂
Bioware sadly has shown it is incapable of doing anything like Larian. Bg3 is the true heir to BG1, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect. Bioware prefers politics to computer games.
I don’t wanna kill your dreams but most of the good developers and writers left Bioware.
Bioware will learn nothing. After Andromeda, Anthem and even ME3's god awful "traffic light" ending, Veilguard isn't an accidental misstep. *It's a trend.* Natural progression of studio's decay
Weird to read after the abomination Veilguard was.
and it was $60 with no MTX or DLC. it's still surreal to look back and see it win GOTY. neil winning best performance. and the slew of smaller awards they got. such a work of art man. the only game i'll *happily* clear space for
You can argue with how great it genuinely is. And you can replay it over and over again without getting bored.
the part that made me fall in love with the game was talking to Shadowheart and she gave me something personal about herself, I asked her to be honest in the future about such things, to which the said okay to. and ever since that conversation talking to her, she ACTUALLY tells me about things she didn't previously. Most games I've played the character seemingly forgets we had that conversation and still doesn't open up. I LOVE that detail.
the part that made me truly fall in love with it and actually start playing it was when Veilguard came out. I had it since it first came out and never played it before. Its one of the best fantasy games i played in a real long time
There is no need for arguing because it's unanimous 🙌
Really? I would think would be boring second time going level 1 to 12
@@joshpeck9266 That's the thing... I haven't gotten to level 12 once because I keep restarting over and over whenever a shiny new mod comes around. That's how good it is lol
I still haven’t played BG3, 2025 is the year for sure that i’ll play it. A couple of friends have been bugging me to get it to play with them.
You really need to play it on pc it is amazing
I actually envy you
It's definitely worth it, but the combat takes some getting used to

Me, too. Gosh, I wish I could play it again for the first time.
But my hubby didn't play it so far, and we are right now dowloading it for console to remedy that. Can't wait to watch him playing it for the first time 😁
It's so worth it. Easily one of the best games I've ever played.
I'm hoping that Larian makes a true dark fantasy game at some point in the future.
They could do Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 3. *not so secretly praying they will* 🙂
I have over 1000 hours of PLANNED PLAYTHROUGHS. No game has made me love it so much. Its phenomenal
I will send Astarion
I hope a better ending for Karlach is added. Most possible endings for her are tragic, and she deserves to be able to live in Faerun without her engine exploding.
Thats why you should just kill her early and never worry about falling in Love.
@@kimosterhout3242 oh snap! Dont give me hope :D
@thomasmann4536 as someone whos been to Avernus, I can assure you... theres no reason to defeat her. Just let her be. Shes doing the good work down there.
To think Larian is saying they have something even better up their sleeves!!! The future of CRPG gaming looks to be very good.
Im in love with BG3 and was heartbroken when we found out there wouldn’t be a dlc or BG4 by Larian.
Likely the same reason bioware quit working with wizard of the coast 20 yrs ago, they're very demanding and hard to work with
@ Its really sad it came to that but i understand it at the same time
the modding community will come to your rescue !
... with larian "accidentally" realeasing dev tools keys , ai like eleven labs to mimic voices etc or even just cut paste sound bites from character lines , you'll dfienitely have no shortage of content .
for ex - shadhowheart marraige mod content was made entire using ingame lines , and it absolutely feels authentic.
@ wow that would be amazing
Have you played DOS2?
I heard it is a sci-fi type new game from larian
@@sizablekoala6879Halo 2 is the only one that comes to mind where you're the alien, I count it even if it isn't the full game
I think one of them could be in the Ultima universe. Swen said Ultima 7 was a huge influence on BG3 and you can see its legacy
I love it! 🙂
I'm still not over the fact that they won't do an Avernus expansion.
(Yes, I know, I should be over it, let me be stubborn)
Would've been an awesome expansion - but hey, we still got modders! I'm hoping for someone to do the Skyrim thing & just develop entirely new zones etc now that the modding toolkit has been unofficially unlocked. Dunno if that would be possible but hey, one can hope
Lol, fair enough.
I was bummed they didnt make a Hunt for Vlaakith extension
I think I've seen a modder on youtube actually bild Avernus for future storylines! It's on its way.

I finally got my husband to play it with me and we are already talking about our next run. A certain recent disappointing game release got me to fire it up and mod it a bit and that got my husband into it. We are having so much fun with it. We both tried to romance companions and were both shot down. We are still giggling about it.
I was disappointed by Veilguard too. 😂
I got my husband to start playing it with me too. A lot of fun although I realize I need a bigger tv for the co op mode 😅
Modding is the future of gaming. The problem is the corpos that will try to monetize on top of the great work done by amazing ppl.
So, what Bethesda is doing now with paid mods. Wait till EA starts sniffing around.
Bethesda is trying desperately to commercialize modding and control it.
the future? there were mods 30 years ago
Why was I already sure this would point to Bethesda...
My dream of having an Asimaar in BG3 became true😭
I've tried modding in toolkit, it ain't easy if you're trying to build something comprehensive like a new class using the limited resources the game has. I am still determined to continue!
Hasbro is working on BG4. I saw an article about it a couple of days ago. I respect Swen. He has done a great job.
BG 4 is gonna fail.
@@SavageDragon999 Yeah, I'm skeptical of a non-Larian produced BG4.
Same. I was one of those people, but BG3 still somehow made me a fan hah

I'm only at the beginning of Act3 😂 Love that you can stop playing for like a month and come back to it like you never stopped.
I'm just insane I guess, finished my 8th playthrough and logged in 770hrs this year alone… I may have a problem, my Steam year in review will be pretty impressive that's for sure (or sad depending on your point of view)
You cannot play it through just once.
You just can't.
How easy would it be for Lariant to do a Pathfinder game?! Man... what a blow that would be to WotC!
Here me out. A game recap recorder for initiative so you can watch your fights playout like a little scene. Idk i think thats a not super hard thing to do that would add a whole new level of playing the game.
Imagine if larian and obsidian worked together
This is currently all i play no other game has had me this hooked in a long time
I started playing on March this year with 1k+ hrs.
Yeah... BG3 really *is* something else and more than deserves all the praise and awards that have been heaped upon it.
Maybe I can restore the Empire there, Commander.

BG3 was absolutly a blast. So many hours i spent there. I cant remember the last time i poured so many hours into a game.

I’ve been playing since it came out. Finished another yesterday. Starting another tomorrow as a Monk. Never played that Class before. 😊 can’t wait to play their new Games. To see their new characters and stories!
I just wish more physical copies were available!
A video I'd like to see is "What *should* Bioware learn from Veilguard in order to make Mass Effect 5 worthy of the franchise?"
They should learn that they should return to the Origin. Only good game in the franchise.
You know what’s funny? WoTC is planning on making their own D&D video game. Not whatever project sigil is…they want to make an actual BG3 successor so they can keep all of the profits. 😂
I think it's difficult for them to reach BG3's level in terms of greatness. Even without having information about the game, it is already expected that it comes from a place of greed and not pure love like Larian...but let's wait and see what comes out of this.
doubt that will happen because they have screwed up so much recently they show little promise on making a good product at all...
Baldurs gate 3 is that GOAT. First thing I did after beating honor mode was immediately go into another playthrough. Each exp has been different.
A few days ago I heard that it’s nomination season for the best game of 2024 and I said, “Baldur’s Gate 3 is the best game of 2024.”
5 full runs, 1 evil durge, 1 Laezel Honour run. 1 Gale, 1 Wyll. Fantastic game.
I'm just thinking of the unholy amount of pictures I want to take of Astarion.
Lol no. Pope just wants to see if he can get a piece of Thaniel.
All other game developers should be taking notes on how to make a game after bg3. The world wants more co-op games like this.
The said Pope playing as Durge in pure evil run :D
Sven seems like one of the last few people that actually is doing what he wants to do and kudos to that right
I still play the game it is just good
There’s also a lot of sales going on at the moment (like Black Friday sales) which are now letting players interested in the game to finally get it at a cheaper price.
And don’t forget that with the mod toolkit being unlocked, modders are working on their own campaigns with custom maps and characters
Surely your Skyrim mod list must go higher. Currently I load 231 into Skyrim.
I can only imagine the pope going full throttle Dark Urge playthrough. Probably thinking "I can finally act on my urges"
Italian here: Vatican City isn't only the Vatican as "The Pope and his cardinals" but also Swiss guards, employees, permanent residents, their spouses and children. There are several hundreds citizens. So those 2-3 copies are probably in the hands of very ordinary, not clergy people :)
Although my next game might be Metaphor: ReFantazio. It's a bit more Persona-y, but one of my friends is VA in both
If you were a gambler, you can almost guarantee that Larians next game will be a masterpiece!
Awesome stuff. Yes, love the mod showcases.
