I thank you so much for sharing all this with everyone, the industry is horribly secretive in Australia and it’s very hard to learn when no one actually shares processing steps, methods, tech and such.
Hello @Zero! I can help you. I am a ROCK rep covering SE Asia and I am happy to coordinate a call with the guys at ROCK to answer your questions. Just email me at galeforce@galeforcedrone.com and we will help you get educated.
Young Man, it’s truly a pleasure watching, listening, and learning from you. After 45 years of corporate/VIP flying with my last 30 years in Gulfstreams, I had quad-bypass in ‘19. Presently waiting from FAA Med Branch to see if they will reissue my First Class Med (my AME believes they will) but last year I got FAR 107 certified, my PI license, armed security license, and am trying to break into the business here in middle-Tennessee. If only I could become your understudy for a few months!!!! God bless you - keep up the great work because you give many of us hope!!!
We do data labeling for point cloud data and I always find your vids very informative! Yeah, you should definitely get skillshare to sponsor you, and create a course on the platform. You would probably earn six figs on your skillshare alone. ☺️ Keep these videos coming!
Great video! Is this the deliverable you offer to the power line authority? Or is there reports that can be generated based on distance from power lines?
The transmission lines are on top and the distribution lines are below on the same tower. You can see many of the distribution lines are not colored red.
I was planning on getting my part 107 for RE and roofing inspections but there’s so many Lanes with drones. Now I wanna save up my chicken ($$$) and get into the LiDAR side of things. Thanks.
Hello Indiana. Thanks for showing us how you work things. I want to go your way, but I am confused lidar, rgb, rtk. My question is ... could you make a tutorial how do you connect livox avia for a drone with pixhawk ??? I would be very grateful.Q
I was just talking to a friend that works for a local power company. We chatted about how drones can help his team, but my question is how do people afford this type of drone to provide this service?
Charge a fair value to the end customer. If you don't run a profit, a real profit, you can't sustain a business and grow to service huge clients. First things first, you're in the right place learning. Harrison is an awesome resource to the drone industry, and my company is considering our second lidar unit, and of course we're excited about the R1A and apparently now the R2A!
Great video Harrison. Pretty informative. I have a question that i am struggling to find a clear answer to. If you can help i would be very gratefull. I live in South Africa and for some reason the survey industry here is hush hush and nowhere can i find any info on surveying with drones or surveying in general. Long story short, i was exposed to surveying in school and was always fascinated by it. I was actually lokking forward to a career in civil engineering but my parent did not have money to be able to send my for further studies in the field, so i joined the millitary. Now 18years later the drone industry is booming and including drones which is another one of my passions. I guess what i am asking is, is it possible to start a surveying business with drones and what do i need to learn and where does one start setting up your own business. I have sufficient funds for the hardware and training but i would like to know what i dont know. Please can you help me?
I'm kinda lost on the post processing, do your software use CORS RINEX files to adjust the data from the GNSS? It would be great if you make a video explaining this process in detail. Greetings from Colombia.
I fly an M200 similar to yours with the z30 for a power company inspecting telecom towers. The transmission and distribution teams want us to fly their lines but I don’t see how to do that if I play by the rules of line of site, flying over private property and vehicles. How do you handle that?
good job My question is, can the program calculate the number of trees or the number of electricity poles? I have a project and the goal of the project is to calculate the number of trees in a very large area of land. Please help. I suggest making a video Thanks for the useful information

Thanks for the great video. Great demonstration of the capability.
Thanks Rick!
Very cool info. I'm a journeyman lineman starting a drone inspection business. Fyi- those are distribution lines not transmission lines.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out the rest of the channel!

Nice video Harrison, super excited about the cost of lidar platforms coming down - and nice work sharing your processing approach !
Hey Indiana Drones, great expertise you have, you should do courses so people can learn how to do what you do
This is a great idea! Ok 👌
@@IndianaDrones I sent you a email
Thank you for sharing your amazing work!
Nice looking video, thank you for sharing
Full tutorial, please!!!!
That is fantastic. Can there be a quantitative representation of distance of trees/foliage to wires?
Thanks for the video ! Would you mind giving us an idea of the actual processing time to get this dataset classified ?

So rad
It will be nice you test the Tripltek tablet with your LiDAR on the M210
Great video. Thanks!
Nice work, Like the OG hat, keep up the great work!
Very good info
Glad it was helpful!
00:34 the frequency of the sound and the tone of the drone sound are matching well in the first flight of the vide.
realy cool! we hope some day we can work with lidar tech on brazil

The classification process is complete autonomous? Do you know if the use shape and color or what to classify?
do you use LiPlan for the flight planning?

Depends on a lot of circumstances! Check out the new discussion going LIVE on my channel tonight to learn more about Making Money with LiDAR!

Get an exemption. You're critical infrastructure.
Great Content, Keep it up!
nice videos you make :), I was wondering if it is possible to use a LIDAR upside down under a bridge or inside a large warehouse etc?
Is everything just running on WGS84 and EGM96 ellipsoidal from the RS2 or are you having to translate to other coordinate systems like state plane?
The system captures data in WGS84 /UTM ellipsoidal height then the rock cloud can reproject into grid, site coordinate and orthometric height
good explanation. Nice workflow! how many ppm you get?
good job

Is a Trimble R8s compatible PPK with the lidar system and can you covert to state plane in the desktop or online software?
Hello Indiana Drones! Am I allowed to use your data on my academic research??
Go for it!

Sir best lidar solution rock2a vs dji l1
ehich is better the L1 or the rock 2a in measuring distace of post per post?
We have new and updated LiDAR technology now! You should check it out and write to us... www.rockrobotic.com/r3-pro
Are ground control points not sufficient or do you have to run a base station? Our survey outfit currently works on a network base station. Thanks

So you pay a monthley fee and still have to pay 100 token each costing 20$ right?
What could you expect the costomer to pay?
Enough to earn a valuable profit!
Looks like a fairly easy process. Thanks for sharing!
So this job was $2000 just to process? How does one quote that into a job if you are unsure the total area size before you start.
