I know you won’t see this but 6 years ago when you tested this my grandma had just passed away and I wouldn’t talk to anyone I couldn’t find my words under my grief I had lost my self bunny. You made me laugh and i laughed so hard I cried. Not just cried but sobbed because I had been pushing it down. You help me find my smile and I started watching everything you had made and slowly I came out of my funk. I’ve been a fan ever since I have your make up and I did the wreck it journals with you. I used to work at a store that sold SodaStream - the colleague that sold the machines told me that if you mix two parts cola syrup with 1 part ginger ale, you get a flavor that is pretty much identical to Coca Cola!!

The mistake you made when pouring the syrup into the bottles is that your not supposed to pour directly in, you need to tilt the bottle. This is explained in the instructions
Never pour the syrup straight in. It will overflow every time. Pour it at an angle down the side. Also there aren't lines drawn on the inside, they are tiny ridges molded into the plastic that are hard to see. I use pumps. Much easier to measure and less mess. Bed, Bath & Beyond I've found is the best place to get flavors, canisters, accessories, etc. Used to try and pick things up on Target runs but they are always out of stock when their selection isn't big to start out with.
I’ve been using sodastream for about 20 years. I’ve never liked the added syrups, but generally love sparkling water, and that’s what we use it for, instead of spending $$$ on Perrier and San Pellegrino. Living in Switzerland, the tap water is so good, it’s silly to buy water in bottles. Not to forget the carbon footprint of all these sparkling waters being transported all around the world, when your tap water is equally as good.
that's a good point! yeah here in america, especially in big cities, tap water is *not* very good lol, due to older pipes. a lot of people have a brita filter, and refrigerators that automatically filters tap water in it are common.

The flavour bottles tell you to pour it slowly in and down the side, then put the lid on and gently swirl the bottle. at least they do in the danish flavor bottles. The flavour bottles does come with fill lines in the cap, and the 1L mark is for the big bottles and the 0.5L mark is for the small ones.

So what you can actually do is order in bulk with the “syrup stuff”. Rather than just buying the flavors through soda stream if you look up different syrups there’s probably options online! Also, a little bit of history, soda was originally created as a medicine where people thought that carbonated water with sugar or ginger had healing properties. People started to like the taste so they altered it to taste better. The first forms of soda came in soda fountains at your local pharmacy where a worker could give you a glass of carbonated water with your choice of syrup. It’s really interesting because soda stream kind of goes back to that idea of taking carbonated water and a separate syrup and mixing them to make your soda, rather than just having it all pre-made in a bottle. (I learned all this from a book called “the world in six glasses” it’s pretty cool)
Carbonation means specifically using carbon to input bubbles. Beer naturally develops fizz bc of the fermentation process. So technically beer isn't carbonated. But like white claws??? Truly??? Definitely carbonated

I think especially with everything that's going on right now, people have been drinking more than usual, the media keeps making jokes about constant drinking like it's a good thing... so it would be interesting to hear your perspective.
I've got the same thought about drinking. I don't avoid it to be cool it's just through experience. I tried the drinking thing in college and all 3 times I turned into my mother being all panicky and paranoid lol. It just made me feel bad physically and I don't enjoy not being in control of myself. I am a very bubbly person by nature so it has the opposite effect on me. Most people I know use alcohol to overcome anxiety and thankfully I don't have that issue. Some people get pissy with me about it but I don't care if other people drink as long as they're responsible. Since my personality is similar to Bunny I wonder if it's the same for her I'd be interested to know!
I still love my Soda Stream. You have to add flavors really slow. I often use "water enhancers" like Mio, or the powdered drink singles like Kool Aid. Occasionally you can find IBC singles in Root Beer, Cream soda, and Cherry cola. Always use less flavor than recommended. Regular extracts work well too, but you have to add a little sweetener usually. Orange + Vanilla is my favorite.

Ugh I love my soda steam. I bought it at the start of quarantine when my la croix and seltzer consumption was absolutely absurd- like 2 gallons of sparkling water a day. The cost of la croix was overall more than the cost of carbon dioxide canisters
I've had mine for about 15 years. When I got mine I was told that more cola syrup and less carbonation = pepsi and more carbonation and less syrup= coke. Love mine. Diet tonic is my favorite. Sugar free syrups don't overflow as much.

I was gonna say, they're all still at Target, walmart, ect. but WhereTF did you get cream soda? I swear it's been discontinued. I can only find it online for crazy expensive prices.
I bought one a few months ago and I'm really loving it. However apart from the cola and the drops, i'm just using regular sirups I buy in the supermarket. Even the Ice Tea sirup or just orange. It's not a perfect match but it's really good to my taste and honestly better for my wallet. All in all, i live on the third floor without an elevator so not having to drag soda bottles up the stairs has been awesome.
I do not drink my tap water where I live, our towns water tested (not long ago) high for toxins like lead, so I need to buy bottled water. This might help with the 5 gallon water jugs we buy at Sams that we get refilled. FIZZ!

Kari Carlson that’s why I think the old one is better because you can control how much carbonation and how quick you gonna put the CO2 in..we have the old version at home and since the beginning we poured the sirups first and it was okay...wouldn’t do it with the new version though!

I've had my SodaStream for about a month now and I've learned if you pour the syrup while the bottle is angled and the syrup runs down the side it doesn't fizz over! 🤗
Just FYI, beverages like Perrier and San Pelligrino are ~mineral water~. You wouldn't be able to recreate them unless you have a mineral spring in your backyard. :) But yes, this product will take care of all your ~sparkling water~ needs! :D
As a lifelong Texan, there is linguistically no difference in the way we hear or pronounce the latter part of the words “commitments” and “peppermints”. Other parts of the country may have a different linguistic style between the two words, but it’s just part of our accent here! 😉
I have this. To keep it from overflowing when you add the flavorings, tilt the bottle on an angle and slowly pour it in. Having the bottle standing straight up is causing the issue. Love you!!

Hold the bottle at an angle when filling and pour the syrup in at an angle so it doesn’t overflow

10:03 lol Bunny! The 0.5L and 1L on the bottle of the instructions mean the amount of water you have in the bottle! So 0.5 liters and 1 litre! Love you!
It actually mean how may lids of syrup to flavor to add, . 5 = half a lid, 1L is 1 lid full, etc

Bunny - you said in the past that you're not into alcohol. I would be so curious as to why you prefer being sober, how it affects your social life etc. If you'd like to make a video about this. I think especially with everything that's going on right now, people have been drinking more than usual, the media keeps making jokes about constant drinking like it's a good thing... so it would be interesting to hear your perspective.
I've got the same thought about drinking. I don't avoid it to be cool it's just through experience. I tried the drinking thing in college and all 3 times I turned into my mother being all panicky and paranoid lol. It just made me feel bad physically and I don't enjoy not being in control of myself. I am a very bubbly person by nature so it has the opposite effect on me. Most people I know use alcohol to overcome anxiety and thankfully I don't have that issue. Some people get pissy with me about it but I don't care if other people drink as long as they're responsible. Since my personality is similar to Bunny I wonder if it's the same for her I'd be interested to know!
I still love my Soda Stream. You have to add flavors really slow. I often use "water enhancers" like Mio, or the powdered drink singles like Kool Aid. Occasionally you can find IBC singles in Root Beer, Cream soda, and Cherry cola. Always use less flavor than recommended. Regular extracts work well too, but you have to add a little sweetener usually. Orange + Vanilla is my favorite.

Ugh I love my soda steam. I bought it at the start of quarantine when my la croix and seltzer consumption was absolutely absurd- like 2 gallons of sparkling water a day. The cost of la croix was overall more than the cost of carbon dioxide canisters
I've had mine for about 15 years. When I got mine I was told that more cola syrup and less carbonation = pepsi and more carbonation and less syrup= coke. Love mine. Diet tonic is my favorite. Sugar free syrups don't overflow as much.

Yes the regular pop flavors exist! O/N Walmart stocker here, you might try typing in the walmart app or website, Soda stream flavors. I know there is a Dr. Pete flavor that's the doctor pepper dupe. Cherry cola, orange, mist, rootbeer, all the things. They run about $5.88 a piece

Some carbonated water DOES have a scent - like tonic water that has quinine in it so it smells vaguely bitter
Tonic water and carbonated water are two different things.

I bought one a few months ago and I'm really loving it. However apart from the cola and the drops, i'm just using regular sirups I buy in the supermarket. Even the Ice Tea sirup or just orange. It's not a perfect match but it's really good to my taste and honestly better for my wallet.
All in all, i live on the third floor without an elevator so not having to drag soda bottles up the stairs has been awesome.

I do not drink my tap water where I live, our towns water tested (not long ago) high for toxins like lead, so I need to buy bottled water. This might help with the 5 gallon water jugs we buy at Sams that we get refilled. FIZZ!

You can NOT put the flavor in before the carbonation. That would cause a huge explosion. All a go for pouring it down the side of the bottle.
Kari Carlson that’s why I think the old one is better because you can control how much carbonation and how quick you gonna put the CO2 in..we have the old version at home and since the beginning we poured the sirups first and it was okay...wouldn’t do it with the new version though!

I have this. To keep it from overflowing when you add the flavorings, tilt the bottle on an angle and slowly pour it in. Having the bottle standing straight up is causing the issue. Love you!!
