You can't compare money directly converting like that. You have to take into account the cost of living. Here, a 2 bhk apartment is rented for Rs. 15000 per month. So, 60000 is 4 months' worth of rent. 60000 is an entire month's salary for most people. Directly converting it to US dollars won't give you the true sense of how much the actual value is.

Ma'am. You need to educate yourself about purchasing power of currency. You don't compare it with exchange rate. Just to give you an idea indian economy is 2.1 trillion dollars on exchange rate parity but over 11 trillion dollars in purchasing power. By that logic. It's around 500 $ Stay blessed all of you
@@ankie7454 India is 3 Rd largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity and 6 th largest( will be 5 th this year after passing britain ) in terms of gdp.
@@amittripathi626 yeah purchasing power parity means how people of a country afford to buy things is teue that we have low gdp per capita but in terms of ppp we have high ranking and they just cant convert rupees into dollars and predict the actual value
If you want a fair comaprision , consider the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) of the Indian Rupee. For example , an article you'd get in the US for a dollar you'd get here for around INR 20. So a bottle of water for Rs 200 comes to about $ 10 ; which if you ask me is quite expensive. Also the ticket prices come to about $3000 for 4 tickets. The exchange rate is not a true reflector of how money works around here.
it is more expensive because of conversion rate .even the minimum wage in America WOULD BE 5500 RS in India ..only Upper middle class people earn that much money in a day..only the rich can go to these concerts
Direct currency conversion don't make sense.. here in 20rs(0.25$) you get water bottle of company which is best among bests... Cost of living is very low here as compared to USA but still it is very high if we don't compare with USA..
U have to calculate the amount vis a vis the purchasing power parity(ppp) of the people, since the cost of living varies vastly in different countries. It's called THE BIG MAC theory. A big mac burger costs around 5.5 USD in the US,and 240Rs in India. The exchange rate is 1USD=71Rs. But if u equate the price of big mac in both the countries, the actual rate of exchange will be around 3 USD and some change. So u gotta equate the PPP of the countries to get the actual value of exchange. For eg, an indian citizen can have 3 meals in a day with just 100Rs,and that's around 1 dollar snd 30 cents. But someone in the US can't,with a dollar and 30 cents. Cost of living plays a huge role and hence foreign exchange rates cannot be equated to understand the economic situation of a country
60,000 is like really really expensive dude , I think most Middle class families have an average salary of about 60,000 a month. So yeah it's really expensive.
