The active window issue isn't surprising. Back then the idea of switching from a game to another program and back wasn't considered typical. Some games could handle it, but a lot could not. Alt-tab was always rolling the dice.
Indeed! Although I have been recommended a game called Ground Branch which is apparently pretty similar. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! OpenRVS is fantastic!
This game is so good. It's a shame Ubisoft dropped their ball with Rainbow Six Lockdown completely changed the direction away from being a solid tactical FPS to became a generic action FPS. When Lockdown came out in 2005, it got a bad reviewed and then SWAT 4 came out in a same year and blew Lockdown away
Lockdown was soooooo bad! I remember coming from black arrow to lockdown... Everyone...and I mean everyone I played with on the older Rb6 games went straight back to black arrow after about 2 days.. Lockdown was a cod wannabe.. Vegas was slightly better... Not by much imo.
It reminds me a bit of the first ghost recon, which is difficult and less tactical because it was released earlier than rainbowsix, but with the mode heroes unleashed it gives +400 missions and a lot of gamemodes to play
Iron Wrath can be installed manually (just drag and drop in the mods folder) without the complicated installation process seen on the Internet. in my opinion the reaction from terrorists is faster on modern system. In 2005 i only played on Elitie.. I didn't remember this so fast. Is there patch?
Since you haven’t tried out Elite, let me tell you this: it’s absolutely ridiculous. The terrorists are human terminators with nanosecond reaction times and pinpoint accuracy, it turns the game into more of a coin toss than a matter of tactics and strategy. My recommendation: turn up auto-aim, two can play that game, also try to find some elite proven mission plans, these or get the Raven Shield 2.0 mod, it adds new visuals and rebalances AI too, personally I wish there was a version that only contains the gameplay rebalance. *edit* There's also the Elite Counter-Terror mod, which also modifies the AI with no other extras, it's worth a try.
An ok tactical shooter but the reflexes of the terrorists and their ability to instantly shoot you in the head can make it more frustrating than fun. That and even heavy armor is pretty useless as it still takes about 1-2 pistol shots to go down.
The game is great in every single aspect, except for the AI. I did R6 and Rouge Spear with all their expansions on Elite using the Black Ops 2.0 mod (you couldn’t even play them all without it) and it was still easier than Raven Shield was.
