- Time to change that brake light.
This video will show how to remove and replace the taillight housing on an Audi A6 between the years 2005-2011. This model has undergone a few minor changes over the years but for the most part has stayed the same. This video was filmed on a 2011 A6 with a 3.0 liter V6 engine.

This video is so awesome. I thought I had to replace the whole taillight as I thought since it was led so was the reverse light but apparently not thanks to this video saved me almost 500 bucks for the taillight lol
Glad it helped you out! Hopefully you bought a Sylvania bulb - they have some trick LED bulbs that fit for reverse lights...
Thank you so much for this video. We have a 2008 A6 Quattro; only other tip I'd give is that we had to go out and buy a metric socket wrench set as we borrowed a set from a neighbor and it was in inches--didn't work. We also peeled back the gray material where the bolt was to get at the bolt easier when it was ready to be hand turned for removal and replacement.
Did you replaced entire light?

Great video, BUT what about the inner housing, I see no one making a video on them except for the easy ones that have a easy access to. My trunk has a full cover and one must remove it to access the inner housing; the problem is that there is no indication where these tabs located and fear to damage them.

Why do tail light covers fade on the trunk part but not the light covers attached to the main body, it’s a mystery as surely they are made from exactly the same plastic and by the same company.

@@shiestyc-lt6xc I found the way. The cover of the trunk must be separated on the part where the lamps are located. Be carefull to not lose the hooks that attach the cover back.
@@edwardserrano4601 do I have to take the whole cover off or just a little bit and is it just clips that hold the cover on?
@Shiesty C Only the sections of the cover that are underneath the lamps. Using a prying tool is better for that purpose.

I did it and i lost the big plastic screw
My light does not move after removing screw and plastic plate....
same with mine, its because its back pressure from trying to move the inner side out first. Use a plastic mold to push out the outer side a little and then pull the whole thing out evenly and it will slide right out. I had the exact same problem, I thought it was jammed in here but it wasnt.
