Getting Started with Ethereum Gold - Smart Staking Contract/Yield Farming

Hi, my name is Jason, and today I am putting some money into the Ethereum Gold smart staking contract, for the first time.
I am not a financial advisor, and this is not financial advice. I am documenting the journey of my own hard-earned money into a smart contract, which is claimed to be a secure way to earn money while holding your ETH.
Ethereum has a lot of potential to appreciate in value, and so Ethereum would be a very profitable coin to stake medium to long term. In my opinion, this is key. In my opinion, this doesn't work as an investment without the significant appreciation of ETH over time.
The problem is, Ethereum was not written to be a proof of stake coin. Rewards are NOT automatically given for simply buying and holding ETH. That is where the Ethereum Gold smart contract comes in....
