Just a suggestion: if you are old like me, I write the colours used on the back so if i don’t use them for a while I don’t have to guess the colours if I want to add some more colour around the edges or on the sentiment .
Something I do is first pick 3 coloured pens or pencils randomly or blind. I then grab scrap papers and card, buttons, ribbon, flowers etc in the same colour scheme and some stamps I haven't used for ages. I then just create cards, tags, etc using only those colours - with the addition of black, white or metallics. It's amazing how many ideas you can come up with. 🤔
What a brilliant video. Lots of useful ideas. When I lose my mojo I just watch some of your videos. It soon comes back. 😂 Thank you for everything you keep doing 🥰
Hi Natalie. Your video couldn’t have come at a better time as my mojo has definitely done a runner and, as I suffer from depression, I’m in a bit of a rut at the moment. I can’t thank you enough for making this video and what came across the most is how much you care about helping people enjoy their card making and want them to find joy and fulfilment in what they make. I love watching your videos as your passion and enthusiasm are so evident in the way you explain things so well and I’ve learnt so much about card making through your teaching. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to share all your knowledge and ideas with us card makers 🤗 xxxx
My pleasure. Thank you so much! Sorry to hear about your struggles. Crafting has been a lifeline for me in my own journey through mental illness. Sending hugs. x
@@nbcascards Thank you Natalie for your kind words. I’m sorry to hear that you too have had your own struggles with mental illness and that crafting has helped you through. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care xx
Another fantastic video!!! My number one recommendation for anyone needing their mojo restored is to watch your videos! Seriously, you have such a wonderful way of explaining steps, offering alternatives and encouraging your viewers. All done in a relaxing atmosphere where I feel I'm crafting alongside a friend. I started making backgrounds after watching one of your previous videos and just looking at them gives me all sorts of ideas. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🩷
I had just taken a break from making cards for Christmas because the card wasn’t going well. I made a cup of tea and turned on your latest utube upload. It was so appropriate I had to laugh. 🤣I love your suggestions - my go to is to step away and go outside to do something more active and often when I come back my ideas flow smoothly again. 🤗
Natalie, This was so very helpful!! You are so inspiring!! I do almost all of what you shared !! I may take one or more of those ideas!! I do think we put a lot of stress on ourselves!! We see so many videos of people makes these perfect cards and then we think ours have to be the same!! We forget about just having fun!! Thanks for reminding me to just have fun!!!!
“Well, that looks bizarre. I don’t know what I’m going to do with that” is the story of my ventures into making backgrounds. I’m not what you would call “visual,” so experimenting has gone more awry than come out looking avent-garde. Your videos showing how YOU make backgrounds, therefore, are more than inspiring: They provide much-needed road maps to making cards that really coalesce. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making your videos, Natalie! 😊
Smashing ideas and a super reminder to lower expectation. The idea to prep things is great for me as starting from scratch I feel overwhelmed. Thank you 😊
Hi Natalie, Thank you so much for this video! It has already helped me get my mojo back and I made 4 cards just yesterday. Your video inspired me to bulk stamp a bunch of focal points and sentiments using all the stamps I haven't used in a while with my stamp positioner. Then I pulled out some card panels and embellishments I had stored away, but hadn't done anything with them yet, and made those 4 cards. Thank you so much for your inspirational videos. Your kind, gentle, and relaxed approach makes it so doable for a novice card maker like me! ❤
Love these ideas and do a good portion of them .I also punch out shapes spots hearts etc from my scraps and pop them into containers to use later . Thanks for all the work you put into your crafting to help us .
I really loved this video. I go through bursts of having more ideas than I know what to do with to then having no mojo. I tend to keep a note book handy now to jot things down. In your video, I heard you mention digi images. This is something that I never see video tutorials on. I use a lot of digi images in my crafting. I craft from my dining room so with limited space digis work great for me 🙂
This is really encouraging. There’s time I want to do something ,but I don’t have time to do a whole lot because it won’t be long I’ll have to leave to go pick up my grands from school. This is something I can do for those times. Thank you for your greatness ! 😊
Brilliant video Natalie. One of the best and most useful I have seen in a long time. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into it. Off to save your list now. xx
Yes! I'm in one right now, tried organizing my stuff to see what I have unfinished, or what kind of scraps I have but right now I feel overwhelmed with all my stuff everywhere in my room , hopefully as I keep organizing it will come to me ❤🎉
Great tips, thank you so much. I love the last one about cleaning and organizing. I find that helps me. Clear the clutter, clear the mind, then I'm off to creating again. The tip about making your own backgrounds, stamp, smoosh, stencil and splatter (the 4 S's) is a good one. I'll have to give that a go.
I save all my strip scraps and glue them onto a full page (usually a cardstock page I printed something I didn't like or double printed). then I take a picture for digital paper and cut it up for cards or ephemera. I always like prompts! Thanks for the download :)
Thank you so much for these ideas. I've really been struggling to get my mojo back so I've been preparing card bases. I will also do some sentiments and basic shapes too. I have really enjoyed your 'stamping September videos'
Comment #128 For those who don't have inks, emboss, dies, or machines... For sentiments I have cut out words off of labels, boxes, junk mail, products... I also use stickers!!! Get creating 😊 Hope this helps
I love crafty peeps. I got the idea for the stamp jigs from Christine Stokes. Don’t know who started it but it’s brilliant. Now you’ve given me the idea for an acrylic jig. Thanks 😊
My mojo has left me of late (back and forth to hospital has taken a lot of time and joy out of everything.) Usually when my mojo has got up and gone, I have either turned to your videos for inspiration or followed a 'sketch' (usually from a website like 'Freshly Made Sketches' or one of the other CAS blogs that put up sketches. As ever, you always inspire. TFS and have a great upcoming week! 👍💖
That background paper is beautiful. The how to for stamping sentiments is also very helpful. I will be making some backgrounds using your four S technique. Thank you Natalie!
What a great video! Thank you for all of the ideas to get our creative juices flowing again. And the list!!! Brilliant idea to use a random number generator with the list. Thank you so much for so generously sharing.
Thank you so much for this. I particularly loved the idea of doing things in an area other than my usual craft space. It's funny how even though it's my favorite spot, when I'm feeling less inspired, I actually feel stressed sitting there. I love the thought of grabbing my colored pencils and some die cuts and moving to another spot to just relax and color. Very helpful video, thank you again.
I have a card idea Tin full of small pieces of paper with different ideas on it. I have dice I roll and pick that many strips of paper. Sometimes I try using all the ideas in one card or split them up and do different things with each strip. Makes having to make a decision easier lol. Love some of your ideas and am adding them to my idea tin.
Your remphasizing of letting go of expectations is so very useful. It has worked for me. Another thing that helps me is some of new stuff i have bought but haven't found time to experiment with in my busy life. I pull it out and experiment. Thanks for all you do. I enjoy each one of them❤ 3t
When I don't have something specific to make, I'll go to my scrap bin and die cut small scraps of colored cardstock or patterned paper and make die cut flowers or shapes with punches, or I'll just pick some coordinating colors and make something unique. Except for Christmas cards, my cards turn out different because I'm using scraps. Part of the fun for me is organizing the new embellishments I've created into a plastic bin with dividers or a notebook divided by occasion using baseball sleeve dividers and when I use up one small bin, I give myself permission to fill it up with something new. This keeps me using up what I have and not making or buying more than I have storage for.
What an awesome video. I tidy up when I lose my mojo and something usually catches my eye and gets me going again and other times I watch videos, your are a favourite for inspiration. Thanks Natalie and have a beautiful day xx
This is exactly what I needed! I could feel that itchiness to create increase as I watched this video. Thanks so much for all the ideas and inspiration you shared, Natalie!
Thank you, thank you! All such wonderful ideas! It's good to be reminded that you can just "play" with no pressure to create a finished card! Thanks for the prompt download! What a wonderful idea!! 🥰
What great ideas for getting your “mojo” back! I’ve been sick with Covid for two weeks & it has left me feeling totally “blah”, tired & out of sorts! Thanks for some wonderful ideas to get myself going in my craft room again!
Love how you are always mixing it up. This too helps us keep that inspiration fresh!!! Thanxs so much for all your videos. I really look forward to them and enjoy them.
these tips and ideas are so helpful! I especially was impressed by your advice to just 'play, with no expectations'! Brilliant - Thank you 👏 😊! Oh, and the list - excellent! 🎉🤩
I love these ideas. I will watch it again and again whenever I lose my mojo. I know I want to play more instead “I need to make cards for swaps” or “I must make a birthday card”. The “have to’s” take away my mojo very fast. I often make envelopes or card bases, that helps a bit, but usually I go online; RUclips or Pinterest. But I really like the playing and that is going to be the first I’ll try. Thanks for the download, that will help too. And now I will go back and watch all your videos I missed last month. Thank you for sharing these 10 tips👍
My usual go to when my mojo leaves is a sketch/challenge blog or find a favourite craft blogger, watch a few videos and usually that inspires a few makes, tfs your 'little' list of prompts, should keep us going!!
I’m still in the beginning of the video and you may mention this but…. Cleaning my craft room seems to help me get my mojo back. When it gets too disorganized, my brain just can’t think. It’s something I need to do now, clean my craft room. Love your ideas as always Natalie ❤️❤️❤️. The jig idea is a game changer!
A really good video, thank you. I stamp up all the pages of a small watercolouring pad & evenings, colour them in whilst watching the TV. If I need a card in a hurry, I flick through & choose one to use.
I like to clean up and reorganize my stuff when I am stuck. I like to pull out seasonal stuff to use to make cards for the time of year, too, and that really seems to intrigue my reptile brain which then informs my front brain! TFS!
Wonderful tips. I generally just clean up and enjoy that for a moment or two. Then I've likely found something that needs finishing and start there. Thank you so much. This was perfect for me today. ❤
Great tips! I also premake sentiments. If I don't have matching dies I find rectangles, banners etc that fit and do it several times.I often usr my backgrounds as inspiration. I just organize them, stare at them until an idea pops! TFS

Great ideas…. And the prompts. I didn’t think I would download, but then I thought it would likely help to use items seldom thought of… forgotten. Thanks!
Thanks for all the ideas. I have done backgrounds in the past using powders and inks and I've also done clusters for embellishments when I am lacking in ideas. I love the tip of putting the die cuts back in the spaces and then stamping. 😊
Great video, Natalie! As you say we all lose our mojo from time to time. So one video to keep In favourites to refer back to. Have a great weekend. Xxx
Great video! I was wondering if you could do something similar for those of us who dont have all your "magical" tools. Love your organisation details.🎉
I had a long stage where I didn't do anything and knew I had to make something for a special birthday. Yesterday I was looking at my die cuts and came across some dies I'd cut but as they were layered dies I had a problem at the time with ideas...and how to put them together. I had stored them with the dies...a great idea which I don't usually do. Well, this time I thought I'd just DO IT! I was so pleased with the result!! This was a bit different to making backgrounds. Thanks for your ideas.
Just a suggestion: if you are old like me, I write the colours used on the back so if i don’t use them for a while I don’t have to guess the colours if I want to add some more colour around the edges or on the sentiment .

I get my mojo back every time I see your videos 😅 Great ideas and you know how to lure me in. Thank you Natalie for another fabulous tutorial.
I forgot to say those cards are beautiful.
You are so welcome! Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement. 👍
Thanks so much! 😃
Great ideas…. And the prompts. I didn’t think I would download, but then I thought it would likely help to use items seldom thought of… forgotten. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Natalie.
Some great ideas 😊
You are so welcome!
Thanks for all the ideas. I have done backgrounds in the past using powders and inks and I've also done clusters for embellishments when I am lacking in ideas. I love the tip of putting the die cuts back in the spaces and then stamping. 😊
This was an A PLUS TUTORIAL. KUDOS
Thanks so much! 😃
I love all your practical suggestions! Today provided great insights for breaking down the " process". Thanks for the list! It will be a great help!
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement. 👍
Great video, Natalie! As you say we all lose our mojo from time to time. So one video to keep In favourites to refer back to. Have a great weekend. Xxx
Thanks, Carole! You too. x
This is really helpful and definitely things I will be doing over the next couple of days as my mojo has clearly gone on holiday! 😢 Thank you x
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! I was wondering if you could do something similar for those of us who dont have all your "magical" tools. Love your organisation details.🎉
Thanks! What kind of non-magical tools do you have in mind? :)
Great ideas! Thank you! ❤️xx
You are so welcome!
Fab! Thanks for sharing. 👍
