Great reaction. This is actually a Star One song, another project of Arjen. Songs are inspired by sci fi movies and TV shows. This song was inspired by a '70s British sci fi TV show, Blake 7. I think some of the people went on to help create Dr. Who. Love Damian and Maggie's voices along with the killer ladies in Ayreon's Angels. Also Joost on the Hammond really gives it that 70's feel.
That is interesting. I liked Blake’s 7. The special effects were not great (as expected for a TV show made at that time), but the storyline was good. Unfortunately they had to end it quite abruptly.
You got the timeline a bit twisted. Dr. Who premiered in 1963 while Blake's 7 premiered in 1978. Dr. Who was already in his fourth - and to me still the best - reincarnation with him being played by Tom Baker whom - on a side-note - is cast as the narrator of Arjen Lucassen's "Transitus" project.
Err your time line is well out, Doctor Who started in the early 60s, so noone from Blake's 7 created it unless they travelled in time...... great song, Maggie and Damien are superb!
@@crossloanstudio OK. Created was the wrong word but the creator of Blake's 7, Terry Nation, also was a frequent writer for Dr. Who and since the two shows at that time were filmed at the same studio complex lots of actors, directors, script editors, costume designers, etc. appeared in or worked on both shows. Sorry for the error but there was a lot of crossover between the shows in the 70's.
As a fan of the Blake's 7 TV show since childhood, it totally blew my mind that anyone remembered it, let alone wrote a fecking rock opera based on it!
3:00 Ayreon never fails to impress, handpicked band members for every performance makes the world of a difference! Damien and Maggie just kill the vocals! Floors sister is one of the backing singers (on the left); just an amazing performance and a great reaction from yourself!
This a great song with Irene Jansen (Floor's sister), Lisette van den Berg and Marcela Bovio singing backing and Damian Wilson and Maggy Luyten singing lead. Joost van den Broek ( from Floor's old band After Forever) on keyboards.
I visited Ayreon in Tilburg a couple of weeks ago. They are still trying to remove my goosebumps and repositioning my jaws because the grin won't leave. The fun that radiated from the podium is mesmerizing! This is such a happy voyage. The artists thoroughly enjoy themselves. They are having a blast playing with and for Arjen. Arjen is a very friendly guy. He has the unique talent to combine all these topnotch musicians that love to come and enjoy each others company. It is the ultimate party. And that joy radiates into the public. No wonder people fly the whole world to see this. More than 50 to 60 nationalities in the public.... Amazing!
One of my favorite Aeryon songs. Damien and Maggie are awesome and that is one of the best chorus lines ever. You should check out more stuff from Maggie. I love her solo cover of Dio's This is your life. A real tribute from Maggie to Ronnie. ruclips.net/video/afx5l2qIQvw/видео.html
This was a lot of fun, Jynger! I'm also happy that you're back to your regular videos. And with Ayreon you always get a healthy dose of Jansen too. Speaking of a healthy dose of Jansen...Star One is another interesting rabbit hole...

Big fun. Love the interaction between Damien and Maggie. Backup singers are amazing. All three are lead singers in their own right. Loved it Jynger.
The backup singer on the left is Floor's sister.
