    In this video I show you how I personally upgraded the SSD in my 2013 MacBook Pro from 128GB to 1TB. I use this awesome machine for a lot of my video editing projects and I needed to increase the storage capacity.
    Thanks to Amazon I was able to find a do-it-yourself SSD upgrade kit that was designed specifically for my make and model of MacBook Pro. I personally recommend that you take your Apple MacBook to a certified Apple store to get the SSD upgraded so that you do not risk damaging your expensive piece of awesome technology from Steve Job's shop.
    However, if you are interested in how I upgraded my SSD then this video is for you. The upgrade itself can be done in a matter of minutes assuming you have the correct tools that can open the bottom of your MacBook Pro to get access to the internal components.
    The kit also comes with a portable USB SSD enclosure for your old SSD card which can be used as a small and lightweight USB drive, which I think is pretty cool indeed.

    Good video, but do not use a vacuum cleaner for dust, as it will also create static electricity. Use compressed air.

      Thanks for the feedback. I have also started using an ESD wrist strap as well when working with electronics.

      It is the 2012 Macbook Pro Retina - it shows the model # on the battery when he's doing the replacement.

      Sorry the title was misleading. The year indicates when the video was created. That is a 2013 MacBook Pro - Retina version.

    Hi! One question! I have a macbook pro 2019 with 16ram and 512ssd! Do you know if ai can do something similar to what you just did!?

    • @mavfan1
      @mavfan1 2 года назад +2

      No, it's soldered on 2017 and later MBPs so you can't replace it.

      @@mavfan1 I have a 2019 as well and need to replace the ssd. Can a repair shop do it or would it be a waste?

    This is NOT a 2021 MacBook PRO. The title of this video is very misleading, and if you are attempting to replace your drive in a 2021 MBP this is not going to work.

    Is there any way to recover the data on a 2020 Air? Like you said in another post the SSD is part of the main board…. It won’t start no matter what I do I can’t seem to get it to boot.

      Nope, my friend had the exact same issue and you can't remove the SSD. So I'm sorry but your out of options.
