Lara's smoking it!! Her Super G skiing is flawless right now; rare to see such consistent superiority at WC level. Lie's a real talent, no question. Has a friendly, relaxed demeanor. Not yet under pressure. Gut-Behrami's dialed in. She wants the big crystal globe and she'll get it, I bet. Needs to pick up GS and slalom results later in season. I think she'll surprise many folks on the GS and win overall cup by 100+ points. Vlhova, however, put down a fine run here. Gonna be a great second half!

I think Petra is much better in SG and downhill than Lara in slalom. That will imo decide. Petra will win by 70+

@@BbbB-ej7in I won't disagree; Lara was way down the slalom rankings when she won overall in 2015-16, but the best slalom skiers also didn't figure in the speed events. Along with her slalom excellence, Petra's DH and SuperG skills probably make her the best all-around skier on a given day. GS results may determine the winner. Lara was third in GS in '15-'16. If she can regain that level this year, I like her overall chances. No question Petra's (almost) right there with Mikaela as a generational talent. She's still developing her gift. Lara's likely in her final season, especially if she wins. I'm pulling for her, as she overcame a horrible knee injury and has sustained a Hall of Fame career...if WC had a HoF. (How these athletes endure such damage and doggedly recover amazes me. Their drive and focus is incredible.)
Anyway, it's been a fine season so far. Whoever wins will deserve it. I just hope injury doesn't play a role. I've skied for decades, and still can't watch a WC downhill run without yelling fearfully.
Stay safe. This year's gonna be much better!
