I’ve a deep red rose in my garden that was planted by my grandfather in 1950. It’s still going strong, with petals that look and feel like velvet and the smell is out of this world!! Gets a bit of black spot sometimes, but it doesn’t ever harm the flowers and it’s quite manageable. You can’t beat old fashioned English roses for those quintessential smells!! ☺️🌹
I'd love to see more plant and garden shopping and things you'll be doing with your roof garden, I also love upcycling and finding garden uses for things such as that two tiered basket you got. :)

Hi Iwan, at the moment my house is like a florist shop. It was my birthday the other day, and because I'm on healthy eating at the moment, as I'm off to Turkey in June, everyone bought me flowers. Out of all of them, the only ones to have fragrance, are the lillies. Flowers especially Roses have no fragrance these days. Have a fab week. 😊
Happy I got my dose of Pumpkin and Mittens!💙 Roses are one of my favorites. I absolutely adore Freesia, the scent is so beautiful, especially when the wind carries is on a warm spring day like when I was a child. The scent just cannot be replicated no matter how they try to put it in fragrances.

What lovely find that tier basket is. Love your idea about using it as a planter. You can get live moss from the garden centre to put as first layer and the the coconut fibre lining. You can plant different varieties of marigolds for the summer 😊

Yellow roses are my favorite but the lavender Angel Face is a very close second. It has the most wonderful fragrance. The hybrid roses (i.e. long stemmed for putting in vases) never have any scent. They are beautiful but I prefer the old-fashioned roses.

Hi - Favourite flowers are Carnations. LOVE the way Mittens and Pumpkin LOVE Cuddles, . My little Tabby who very sadly died in 2020 at the age of 16 LOVED mummy cuddles. My little Lucy Grace who is a Tortoiseshell does not like cuddles, however, I don't give up and grab her all the time for a quick cuddle. I love fresh flowers, I've had tulips and daffodils in my kitchen window over Easter (where my cats can't get to them!) but my favourites are peonies - they have such a short season though!

LOL - imagine my delight when I saw that you did 😊 I think your idea for it is great and I think I could also see it with houseplants and trailing ivy inside too! (With some well hidden waterproofing of course) It likely will continue to rust outdoors and you won't like it as much. It ll go from shabby- chic to rusty-crusty pretty quickly 😮

I would spray the basket with several coats of a clear top coat to protect it from water.

. My little Tabby who very sadly died in 2020 at the age of 16 LOVED mummy cuddles. My little Lucy Grace who is a Tortoiseshell does not like cuddles, however, I don't give up and grab her all the time for a quick cuddle. She is a wonderful Buddy though and follows me around all day long bless her heart. Thanks for another lovely Vlog Iowan look forward to the next video. x

I saw a cow bell on a table when you were at the car boot sale, I wish I could have asked you to pick it up first me 😀it takes me back to my childhood when I stayed at my grandparents with my sister and my Grannie always rang it in the mornings to say time to get up for breakfast, happy memories, maybe I’ll fine one, one day. Always love to look around car boots and charity shops too.

I love fresh flowers, I've had tulips and daffodils in my kitchen window over Easter (where my cats can't get to them!) but my favourites are peonies - they have such a short season though!

Yes Mr Carrington I grow Rose's, 64 & counting, just one of my hobbies, Store bought ones are perfect but never have much smell if any, good buy though, like you said, nice to look at. My Cat likes to smell my Roses, the ones I cut, she is an indoor Cat. x

Here in Hawaii, I don't see large Easter eggs. 😣 I miss those and when I was visiting England years ago I brought back Easter eggs from M&S in the shape of dinosaurs.

LOL - imagine my delight when I saw that you did 😊 I think your idea for it is great and I think I could also see it with houseplants and trailing ivy inside too! (With some well hidden waterproofing of course) It likely will continue to rust outdoors and you won't like it as much. It ll go from shabby- chic to rusty-crusty pretty quickly 😮

Love seeing the cats. So cute. I love tulips, my garden is full of bulbs,many got on my frequent trips to Amsterdam . I highly recommend a trip to Amsterdam in Spring to see the gardens at Kerkenhoff.
