It would be really awesome if there was an opportunity to have a M.A.S.H. reenactment week at that location. Set the whole place up to look like it did in the show. I'd be so down for that.
Great video.Thank you for sharing it. I seen the production from atop of another peak nearby as a young boy in 74. I was attending summer camp and our guide told us to be very quiet. We sat there with binoculars from 1/4 mile away. At the time I didnt know anything about M*A*S*H.
The scrub has recovered nicely after the Woolsley Fire of 2018. Not so the ambulance. I'm glad the home directions sign was rebuilt. Of course, the helipad would have survived, and it's easy to picture the opening scenes looking at that. Thank you.
Thank you for watching my video. This place is in Malibu state park, the walk is about one mile and half and is a great hike in, and yes you can touch and get in the vehicles.
@@jmdoutdoors5729 I’m just hoping my mom can make it. I’m 46 and it’s been my fav show since a kid. Do you guys live around there? I live in stupid bakersfield about 2 hours north lol.
I have been on this site quite some years ago. I don't recall the signpost being there. Neither was the frame of the messtent. Just an old jeep and an old ambulance.
It’s quite far from Fox Studios in Century City out to this location in Calabasas. 251 episodes, 1971 - 1983 As they say, “Time is money.” Actors and a large crew plus transporting all the equipment trucks. They would have tried to shoot as many exteriors as they could in a day before leaving.
We went up there a few yrs ago and only the jeep and ambulance was there. They have added all the other stuff recently! I wish we could have seen it now? Ty for sharing. My husband just passed away and we loved this show so much we played it nightly for yrs. I still do. It’s a comfort to help me sleep. He would have loved to see they fixed it up. Someone had stolen the org sign when we had gone. It was sad.
I am trying to think of a show today that I would go to the site it was filmed and feel the same way I would here. There just isn't one no show has even come close to the feeling that M.A.S.H. gave to people.
This is my favorite sitcom and always will be. What an honor it would be to visit this site. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless!💜

That would be awesome. Thanks for watching my video.
Thank you very much for watching the video. I agree with you.
I absolutely love how quiet this video is. It is so unusual to see that these days. Very calming. Cheers for uploading!
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm glad you like it, I like my videos to show the real thing..

Wonder if any of the Actors/Crew have ever been back to the location ? Need some now and then photos.
Wow amazing how cleaned up the place got and the plaque upgraded in the time between a 2019 video shot just a year before this was uploaded
When I was there the place looked very beautiful and clean. Thank you very much for watching.
Would have been nice if you would have depicted the actual now with the actual then. The before and after’s on site would have been great
I would like to do that but I don't have the ways to do it. Thank you very much for watching.
@@jmdoutdoors5729 understandable. Maybe someday you will be able to.

Thank you very much for watching the video. I filmed this video in February 2020, I plan to go back in a few months let's see how it looks.
The Jeep appears to be the one that was run over by a tank. Hard core fans know which episode I'm referring.
Thank you very much for watching.
Then Sherm shot it a couple times lol
How long is the walk from where you can safely park?
Are you allowed to touch the vehicles
Thank you for watching my video. This place is in Malibu state park, the walk is about one mile and half and is a great hike in, and yes you can touch and get in the vehicles.

Where is Malibu State park
Thank you very much for watching the video. This site is in Malibu Creek State Park, in Malibu California.
Derrick with Vice Grip Garage would drive that jeep home.
Probably parked for over 20 years, will it start? Thank you for watching my video.
This is a cool video

👍👍
Suicide is painless . The filming company left that stuff ?
I'm no sure if they left it there or they brought in after.

interesting, looks like the wildfires hit the area though... see a lot of burnt shrubbery.
Yes it burned a few years back. Thank you very much for watching.

Those actors spent a lot of their lives there....a lot longer than the actual war lasted.
Yes they did, they worked very hard to make a great show. Thank you.
