This is the ep where IU almost drowned because she didbt know how to swim..she thought when she got in the water..she was gonna rise up but she didn't. After this episide..she was soo scared to get back into the water. That's why when she filmed her drama Scarlet and had to be in the water for those scenes she was soo terrified
I kinda understand what IU said when she thought she knew how to swim, I'd be swimming from edge to edge of the swimming pool without no problem, I'd be playing on the sea as well, I thought I knew how to swim. But like her, I jumped from a spring board of maybe at a lower elevation than she did, when I hit the water, the impact made me panicked, but since my brother saw me and held me up until he was sure I can swim on my own it was easier for me. In her case, her fall was off at a great elevation, and she was bit alone, on her own for a considerable amount of time. I can see why she's in trauma, it's so sad to not be able to enjoy water from then on.
When i was little ( somewhere 6 ) i knew that the pool was deep but i thought i qould float so i jumped in with my dad but then i sunk... he didnt see me and i had to save my own life by trying to swim in a closer edge.

This is what started IUs water trauma 😭. The situation was neither running man or IUs fault but it's sad to see IU not return to running man. I slowed down to see what happened and I see IU after fallin in the water, on Kwangsoo shoulders as him and Jaesuk is moving her to the edge of the swimming pool. I'm sure the members came in quick when they saw something was off even if iu said she thought she knew how to swim prior. It totally makes sense like how I can swim in pools great but swimming in the oceans is so hard, a slight miscalculation where even if you are safe (lifeguards and members around you) it really feels like it can all end in 1 sec, very scary. The water is very fun place and I hope IU can once again be able to find happiness there some time in the future :(
This isn’t why IU wasn’t on running man again, she thought she could swim she said okay to it and they have divers in the water, what happened to her was scary but it could have been way worse if they weren’t prepared with divers. I love IU but I still don’t understand why she didn’t ask for a life jacket or anything in this ep. She didn’t know how to swim which was really dangerous, lucky the other members and staff were there to help her.
@@alexandrabae968 Yeah, but the staff didn't give her a life jacket or a floatie or whatever only cause she insisted it, that's how I see it. I don't know how shows like these are run, but I doubt they'd insist something to a celeb if they don't want it. It's not just the staff's fault, but I'm not leaning the blame too much on IU. She didn't know how to swim, therefore a life jacket or any sort of buoy was needed, it's a surprise RM didn't get cancelled right after this.

If your life is in danger, like drowning, the first thing you will do is to make your body float. Now your brian will will send signal to your body to swim. If you knew how to swim, that's what you will do, to save your life. One doesn't forget how to swim esp if one is drowning. I like IU but her comment about forgetting how to swim is just bull.
But it happened to me once.... I could swim decently and always enjoyed being in the water. But last summer my friends pushed me in the water and I panicked and I just tried to swim but kept drowning and it was terrifying.... idk but I can relate to IU

Gosh she wasn't drown. Stop making it so serious. When they dropped you can clearly see she was able to hold her head above the water by herself. Plus there were alot of crews there that were always ready to provide help instantly when needed. Maybe her clothes dragged her down or/and she was tired so she struggled a bit so she drank some water top. Of course it was still a horrible experience for her but it was not dangerous.

They are not cruel enough to make you suffer the punishment if you're really not comfortable to do it especially because she's a guest and she's IU. Don't get me wrong I love IU I'm a huge fan of her but in this one she simply overestimated her capabilities that's why. They let Ji Suk Jin sit and not dance into Bubble Pop because he told them it doesn't suit his age and it's embarassing, how much more in this case? Another good example related to extreme Running Man punishments is Lee Da Hee. She is more than willing to do the Wing Walking challenge which is way more dangerous than this one and you can clearly see her not fuss over it because she can actually do it. Bottom line is, if you're not comfortable to do it, just say it. It's that simple.

I think I understand why IU suddenly couldn't swim, I for one know how to swim but I avoid diving and slides because one time, I was on a slide the sudden drop or impact to the water made me forgot how to swim and almost drowned since it made me panicked and also the feeling of not on the ground made it even worse, good thing my brother was there.

I love IU but I still don’t understand why she didn’t ask for a life jacket or anything in this ep. She didn’t know how to swim which was really dangerous, lucky the other members and staff were there to help her.

@@alexandrabae968 Yeah, but the staff didn't give her a life jacket or a floatie or whatever only cause she insisted it, that's how I see it. I don't know how shows like these are run, but I doubt they'd insist something to a celeb if they don't want it. It's not just the staff's fault, but I'm not leaning the blame too much on IU. She didn't know how to swim, therefore a life jacket or any sort of buoy was needed, it's a surprise RM didn't get cancelled right after this.
@@TJHyun she literally thought she knew how to swim but didn't at this length, she wasn't aware of the fact that she couldn't swim and had just thought she'd float back up. i doubt they gave anyone life jackets seeing that no one else was wearing them, so there's no blame to be passed around.

@@jaredmislang552 How could someone forgets how to swim? We have something that we call muscle memory and defense mechanism. If your life is in danger, like drowning, the first thing you will do is to make your body float. Now your brian will will send signal to your body to swim. If you knew how to swim, that's what you will do, to save your life. One doesn't forget how to swim esp if one is drowning. I like IU but her comment about forgetting how to swim is just bull.
But it happened to me once.... I could swim decently and always enjoyed being in the water. But last summer my friends pushed me in the water and I panicked and I just tried to swim but kept drowning and it was terrifying.... idk but I can relate to IU

Gosh she wasn't drown. Stop making it so serious. When they dropped you can clearly see she was able to hold her head above the water by herself. Plus there were alot of crews there that were always ready to provide help instantly when needed. Maybe her clothes dragged her down or/and she was tired so she struggled a bit so she drank some water top. Of course it was still a horrible experience for her but it was not dangerous.

They are not cruel enough to make you suffer the punishment if you're really not comfortable to do it especially because she's a guest and she's IU. Don't get me wrong I love IU I'm a huge fan of her but in this one she simply overestimated her capabilities that's why.
They let Ji Suk Jin sit and not dance into Bubble Pop because he told them it doesn't suit his age and it's embarassing, how much more in this case?
Another good example related to extreme Running Man punishments is Lee Da Hee. She is more than willing to do the Wing Walking challenge which is way more dangerous than this one and you can clearly see her not fuss over it because she can actually do it. Bottom line is, if you're not comfortable to do it, just say it. It's that simple.

I think I understand why IU suddenly couldn't swim, I for one know how to swim but I avoid diving and slides because one time, I was on a slide the sudden drop or impact to the water made me forgot how to swim and almost drowned since it made me panicked and also the feeling of not on the ground made it even worse, good thing my brother was there.
