I was given a cross like this over 35 years ago from an older lady who made these for everyone. I have looked for a long time for this pattern. I am soooooo happy to find your video on how to make it. I too want to make them and give them to others as a ministry.
THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!! I'm a Christian and I've been looking all over the internet for a cross bookmark to do as gifts for Easter. THIS foots the bill, GORGEOUS. I did mine with 3ply yarn & a E hook with crochet cotton metallic thread as the border, It's BEAUTIFUL. I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you again. God Bless You !!!
Thank you for sharing your pattern for the beautiful crochet bookmark. One of our church ladies makes bookmarks for our high school seniors in their school colors very similar to your pattern that we present with a Bible for graduation. She includes a symbolism card with them that I will share here but the author is unknown to us. Enjoy and share! Symbolism of the Handwork Cross Down through the center of the cross are thirteen “Shells” representing Christ and the twelve apostles. On each side of the cross are three “Shells” representing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on the one side Faith, Hope, and Love on the other. From the top of the cross to the tassel There are thirty stitches. Christ was thirty years old when he began his ministry. The tassel has thirty-three threads, Christ was crucified when he was thirty-three. The scallops around the cross symbolize God’s Love that forever surrounds us.
Thanks so much for this beautiful, easy to follow visual lesson! Our crochet-savvy church ladies have used it many times to bless others with a beautiful hand-made bookmark. Blessings to you for sharing.
What a sweet, beautiful project, I am going to make one to lay in our family heirloom Bible that has been in our family for 6 generations!! Thanks for the inspiration! God's Blessing's from Washington State!
Thank you soo much. It's beautiful . I am retiring at the end of this month, so want to make a cross for my colleagues as a goodbye gift. Lots of love ❤❤ from South Africa
This was one of the best tutorials that I have used. The instructions were very clear and I was able to crochet along. I did use a thicker cord, but now that I completed my cross, I will use the materials that were suggested. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I made this doily and an very pleased with it. I used a 3 yarn and a2.75 hook so it came out much larger. But I'm very pleased with this being my first project with a smaller yarn than I'm used to. 😁🌻
This is an absolutely beautiful pattern, it's the loveliest shell-pattern crochet cross I've come cross. Thank you so much for your free tutorial, you explained everything so well, much better than other patterns I've found and struggles to follow. I've never blocked anything and find the process a bit scary, so I especially appreciate you showing us an easy way to flatten it! I was extra touched at the end when you shared with us who you are gifting it to 😊❤ I'm making one for my cousin's first holy communion, I think she will love it!
Love this. Going to make it as a BD gift for my friend. You really made it so easy sharing this. Yet looks so great people will ask where I found it, and when I say made it, they will really want to know how. Ty so much. God Bless all your grafting.❤
I was gifted some cottonyarn today. And in the mail received an invitation to a little girls baptism. So..with your tutorial I was able to crochet her a bookmark for the occasion. Thank you. Your tutorial was perfect.
Love this cross!! ❤I've used your video to make crosses for several years now. Not sure if I ever commented on here. If I did, I'll just add another one!! Thank you for this video!!🥰
What a beautiful tutorial, background music combined with the soft spoken voice was very soothing. This was my first time actually crocheting with a such a small hook, but your tutorial was very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you 😊
Thank you for your detailed tutorial. I've been making these like crazy in time for Easter. My mom & her sisters will love them! I've been using solid and variegated threads with a metallic gold border and they're stunning! KUDOS to YOU!
Just finished mine, made mine with different yarn and hook and didn't add the border. I did add tassles at the bottom so it can be used as a bookmark or a wall hanging. Turned out beautiful. Your tutorial was very easy to follow, I didn't even have to pause to catch up! Mailing the cross to my grandma on Monday I bet she'll love it. Thanks!
Ohhhhhhh thank you for posting this!!!! This is the pattern I lost and have been searching for. There ws a poem that went along with it. The chain stitchs to the tassel (was 33 representing the age Jesus when he was nailed up the cross) 12of the stitches representing the apposiles. I forgot the rest of the poem. Maybe on day I will find it again.
Your tutorial is so easy to follow. I started watching it yesterday and have made two already! I’ve got 3 more to go. I’m making them for my daughter to give as gifts. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I left a comment about a year ago thanking you for your video. It has been such a help. I've made dozens of bookmarks since then and have 'tweaked' your technique to make my own. You had mentioned sending this one to your Compassion child in India and I mentioned not being able to send these little gifts through them to our children anymore. I sponsor several children through the Village of Hope Uganda and all of my children have one now plus many others who are unsponsored that I write to until they have their own sponsors. Now, I've started making them and selling them for $5 a piece with all money going to VOH Uganda. I had a rummage sale last week and had 28 of them in it. A lady came and bought all of them! That was $140 raised! I had a before and after picture of the table with the bookmarks that I was hoping to be able to share with you but I'm sure you can picture it. Anyway, I wanted to say thanks again for your video. It is being put to good use. May God bless you for sharing it with us.
Wow, thats awesome! You are doing amazing things. I am glad you could use this pattern. What a blessing. Thank you for sharing. May God continue to bless the work of your hands.
Your voice is beautiful ! - why were you embarrassed?. As others have said you are very soothing to listen to and I am sure you are a very patient teacher ( I need someone VERY patient !!) thank you !.
Wonderful video! Easy to understand. Did have to pause it several times but haven’t crocheted in some time so took me some time to catch up. Very clear instructions. Great calm voice. My cross turned out great and if I had used the right size thread and hook it would have been even better! Plan on making several for some of the nuns i know for Christmas. Thank you so much.
Modification suggestion for beginners like myself, adding where we slip stitch to join😉. but you do mention it in the video, thank-you it was great and easy to follow
Very nice. Made my first bookmark this afternoon and it turned out beautifully. Your instructions and particulars to detail impressed me. Thank you very much. Hope your sponsored child in India enjoyed her bookmark that was made with so much love! :)
