I have had Dual SB3000 Subs for about a month now. Going from a dual 10 and 8 inch setup, these subs are in another world. Audyssey likes to set them quiet though, so I had to raise the levels up a few db to get the levels I wanted. These subs can seriously shake my room. One day I will get the urge to upgrade to sb16 ultras, but for now I am more than happy with them.
Got its big brother, the PB-3000 and absolutely love it.
I have a SVS SB3000 in a smaller room which is driven by an Arcam AVR390 receiver an sounds great. Together with my new Evoke bookshelfs and center it's magic.
I own the SB-3000 and I love themselves, I'm definitely gonna get another one in the near future they are some of the best subs I've owned.
I just bought a 3000 the tech guy was telling me a 2nd would complete my set up that 1 would give it BOOM but 2 would shake the roof..
Great review. I am currently in the SW market. This review made me lean toward SB 3000. Subscribed!
me too...
A very good review! Another very good movie testing your entire speaker system, especially the sub, is The Haunting. The sound design is outstanding!!!
I have dual SB 3000's paired to my Revel F208's, and they have no problem keeping up and blending seamlessly with them. For a 2 channel music setup, I don't think there's anything better without spending at least twice the price!
Unless your room is acoustically treated (which it should) you can always get a Sonarworks kit. You're already covered for low end with dual sb3000's.
I have dual SB-3000s and they blast with immediate, deep, hard hitting and clean bass!
Thats what I want!!!
Spare Change showing up in my email via the SVS Newsletter. Shane and SVS. Two great things that go great together.
😷
@@therealshanelee you gonna review the pb2000 pros
Thanks for your honest review. I've got one sb3000 in a small 10ft X 13ft space with one apartment each to two sides of mine and another apartment underneath me (3 apartments as neighbours in total). So you can see how squeezed I am with neighbours who respect me a lot.
This sub rattles everything during music. With movies, I barely screen that because the reverberation would just be too much for neighbours to take. I've tried "12 strong " and it reached an unexpected bass thumping area where I had to turn off everything for fear of neighbours.
I took it to girlfriend apartment (17ft by 11ft for a mini birthday get togather) where that apartment only had one apartment (neighbours) underneath and neighbour came upstairs banging on the door complaining that everything in hers was literally vibrating.
I'm not enjoying my passion at all. If I do get a bigger place with fewer neighbours I'll go for the sb16 ultra.
Thanks Shane... researching now for atmos & Beds (leaning toward Arendals but room cannot support the heights.. need in ceiling ) but sub upgrades also on the list
Great video! I've had an SB-4000 for about six months and it's some of the best money I have ever spent.
@Hytona Wow. Really?! Can you let me know the name of your channel, because you're obviously a super-smart person. Thx bro.
Mine will be here Monday.
CANT WAIT!
How u liking it? Any comparisons music too?
LOVE that opening in Bladerunner 2049. I remember seeing that at an AMC Prime and was like WTF....yes please.
Yeah ! one of the most boomy opening ever heard !
I hear that and I agree! That opening is incredible.
Great review Thankyou, how do you rate the sb3000 over the older sb13 ultra? Are they comparable? Or is the older sb13 ultra closer to the sb4000?
I am extremely pleased with SVS. Their products as well as their customer support is excellent. My sound system consists of 4 SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers (2 for the mains and 2 for the side channels), an SVS Ultra Center speaker, 6 SVS Prime Elevation speakers (4 ceiling mounted for Dolby Atmos and 2 mounted on the back wall for the rear channels) and 2 SVS SB-3000 Subwoofers. The system is powered by a Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A 11 channel AVR connected to a Panamax M5400-PM Power Conditioner.
I run an all SVS 4.2 Music Only System that consist of: Prime Pinnacles / Ultra Bookshelves and dual SB-3000’s. System is clear and accurate. I also run a 7.2 Klipsch System anchored by dual PB-3000’s. Bass is deep and authoritative.
Hey William! Matt from the FB group!!
I have dual sb3000 and in medium room for movies and music I think they are top notch for their price and size
Great review! I'm glad you mentioned the 2ch listening with electrostats. My SB-2000 cannot keep up with my Maggies and I was wondering what sub can.
Which electrostats are you listening to?

flashhog01 rythmik Audio or funk audio are the best sound quality subs you will find period.
@@Ctripp2448 Thanks for the info, I haven't heard of funk audio. I'll take a look at them.
Glad to see other companies putting out some quality bass that is on the edge of affordable too!
I got more coming.
@@therealshanelee Saaaweeeet!!!
I have a single SB 3000 (15X20 Rm) I think another would help complete the rock concerts and explosions but one really works well.... 2 will be because I'm over 50, 35% hearing loss and love feeling the bass go through my body!!
Yessssss SpareChange..!!! I have an SB-3000 for about 3 months now and it is amazing. I can't believe the bass that hits so low and the speed associated with it. Tight and stops on a dime. Best Sub for the money hands down.
I've been interested in the sb3000 are they good with movies ,like Godzilla type movies or midway etc ,tell me about it my friend
@@waymonfrench2077 - Hi Waymon. Yes they are great with movies and dig deep with the bass. Great excursion with this sub as well.
@@TonyZ1717 I have the pb2000 pros they dig deep on their own I'm impressed with those sb3000 is even more impressive, I'm watching bright burn as I speak very good bass ,whats your settings my friend
@@TonyZ1717 hi tony meant to ask do you run auddesey on your subs ,darn thing gives me a different setting each does an alright job I still have tweak things a little it set my avr trim at -12 , -10 -9 , to get 75db my sub gain ends up at -23 what your settings
@@waymonfrench2077 -- No I don't. I do it manually given the odd size of my place.
Hi , Thanks for your Great review, I'm using JL E112 now, if I change to SB3000, is it an upgrade or a downgrade?
I am running 2 x sb3000 with RF7iiis and my god the amount of punch is crazy. These subs are so quick and tight. Pretty much any shooting in a movie feels like I am at a gun range. What sold me is the size. As much as I wanted the ultra 16s I just didn't have the room for them or the back to move them. If anyone is looking for a well rounded subwoofer that you can put pretty much anywhere these are the ones.
Do you like them for movies as much?
@@P-LOWN1997 for sure. They are great subwoofers with such a small footprint.
@@Richstreetdriven how would you rate them 1/10? How big is your room? Mine is like 12x12 8foot ceiling i’m sure it will be enough
They are a awesome subwoofer iv got 2 sb3000s with a mini dsp and my god they dig really deep, I had the Pb3000 too before them and I rather the sb because now port shuffle
Just curious but did you have 1 PB 3000 and then decided to get dual sb 3000s?
@@Professor5180 yes just one wanted 2 put the price at the time was to much here in aus
just snagged a couple of these to put behind the couch. two sb-4000’s in the front.
Hi, when you start calibration do you set the volume on -10 as svs recommend?
I have had my eye on these ever since coming to your channel. When I rebuild a system, these duals are it.
I agree,
Shane, PLEASE review the PB-3000! Im positive I'm not the only one that feels it needs a Spare Change style look over!
I agree. I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. The PB3000 is a monster. I might have to send it back for 1 SB3000 lol 😂
Great review. I usually check out your UHD Bluray reviews, but this is the first Equipment review I'm watching. Any plans to review the Polk Audio HTS12 subwoofer? Hardly any good reviews of those online. Mostly just product demos on RUclips.
Half my videos are product related 🤦🏻♂️🤯
Here in Sweden SB 3000 and REL 1508 is at the same Price. So what pair of subs would/should i/u buy?Looking to upgrade very soon.Thank u for your works om this channel
Great review like usual. You are the reason i build myself a little home cinema set up. Keep up the great work.
Greetings from Germany. :)
PS:Hope that above makes sense my english isn´t that good. :D

@@1crenshaw488 check out some Kef speakers.
I just got the PB2000 Pro. I like it, but I was thinking about switching to the SB3000, and I still have time to return it. Mostly because the PB2000 Pro takes up a little too much space in my setup, but I also like the idea of a more precise sound
I’m in the same thought chain as you.
Have you tried your PB2K with some port bungs in sealed mode and taken some room measurements to see what response it gives you?
@@pauledwards8721 I’m pretty much a noob with audio, I’m trying to learn but don’t know how to take measurements. I did try plugging the holes and putting it in sealed mode, hard for me to tell all the differences but the bass did sound a little softer which I think was better for the music instead of booming over the whole track. I’ll try it with a movie too, but I’m probably just going to keep it since it’s a pain to ship back, and it does sound good. But if I could do it over again I’d probably just take the SB3000 because it doesn’t take up as much space and I’m sure sounds fantastic for music and movies
How do you compare this with arendal sub 1.5. I have to choose between these two.
Let me preface this conversation by stating that I have Vulcan ears. Let me also say that I once worked in a very high end audio shop in Mt. View, CA. . . Muons, Blades, $55k turntables, etc. Hence, I have some mild experience & have heard all manner of audio equip. Currently, my entire home theater is SVS ultra. . . towers, center, surrounds. I have had the SVS SB-1000s, then upgraded to 2000 Pro. With respect to the aforementioned 2, yes I could hear a very mild and/or faint noise floor with my ear right on top of the cone. However, when I backed away to the listening position (10'-12') it disappeared.
I then decided to take a step up using the SVS upgrade program to the SB-3000s. The noise floor on these was nearly twice as audible, & I could most definitely hear them from the listening position. SVS sent me 2 amps. One was DOA, & the 2nd was a tad worse than the originals. I was told that the SB-4000 & Ultras don't have this issue. Strange how the "monkey-in -the-middle" of their lineup is the only one to have that issue.
I was told by someone @ SVS that most people don't have a problem with noise floor in the 3000s, or don't care. Further, I was told that I am in the 1% that can hear it. I guess they don't engineer it for the minority that have exceptional hearing. I suppose my "OCD" is some form of disability. Isn't that some form of racism? ;) Needless to say, I sent them back & reinstated the SB-2000 Pros to my system. On a positive note, SVS did say they would keep my upgrade program open indefinitely until they can resolve the issue.
Thanks for the review. I am torned bw 2 PB 2000s, 2 SB 3000 or 1 PB 3000. Watching this video I leaning towards the SB 3000. I like base, but controlled and refined. I am not sure the PB 3000 provides that. Any suggestions? BTW, my HT room is 21x 13 X 10
2 units are always better than one (in your case especially)
What do you think of the prime bookshelves for a front L/R
Could you try the Xtz 1x12 and tell us what you think about it ?
edge of tomorrow such an underrated movie
I have an open cencept LR DR and Kitchen with HT in LR. Do you think the SB3000s can do the job given open space?
Just ordered a single SB-3000 today. I don't have a dedicated HT. Spend more critically listening to HD and UHD streamed 2-channel audio then I do watching Movies and TV. Also, the wife acceptance factor in dropping a another big ass black cube in the living room is always a consideration. "Nothing as big as my end tables!", she'd say. I'm sure this will be tangible upgrade from my Martin Logan 700w and will pair nicely with my Martin Logan Motion 5.1 channel speakers.
Hopefully you can tell me how you got on with them for two channel stereo? I am thinking of getting two for the same purpose, not interested in LFE or home theatre, although never say never for the future
Shane how low of useable output can these 2 go down to? Im seriously considering these for mainly ht use. My room isnt big at all but i do want to go down at least to 16hz easy.
What do you recommend: SVS SB3000 or Martin Logan Dynamo 1600X? I am tormented by a choice. Or is it better to buy a ported sub for this money? Thanks!
Just ordered one to replace my Klipsch Reference that just blew. Should be a solid upgrade.
order duct tape to wrap around your head. the staggering upgrade may blow your mind!
@@googoo-gjoob my subwoofer utilizes the lowest frequencies from my mid range speakers the SVS subwoofer doesn't do that so this means I has the best bass sound in the world
Yep!
@@waymonfrench2077 my tweeters utilizes the highest frequencies from my mid range speakers the SVS tweeters doesn't do that so this means I has the best tweeter sound in the world
@@patrick7799 so what's your setup I'm interested in good tweeters
Do uthink that the sb 3000 is better than the rel ht 1508 then?. And have u tested the sb 2000 pro also then.?
I'll never go back to ported subs. I ordered my Sb3000 to replace a 15 year old 15" sub. The svs is not only more advanced, but more powerful. Also consider- a larger subwoofer in a small or medium room won't do anything. You aren't getting 20hz in a 10x15 room.
What do you think about svs pc12 plus compared to the SB3000? Thanks.
How would you compare this to the Paradigm Defiance X12?
Not sure why your video didn't pop up for me sooner. I've been looking to upgrade my 1st sub of the 2 I have (an old downward firing 150w RMS). I have a small space (17 ft x 12 ft) with a dropdown projector screen, that is kept off the back wall by 18". Any sub I get has to fit behind the screen, so the 2nd one I ended up getting 2 yrs ago was the SVS PC-2000. A great sub for movies and ok for music. I'm thinking about adding the SB-3000 for its size use for music, and keeping both the SVS subs in use with my 7.2.2 system. Any opinions with mixing a ported sub with a sealed sub? I don't have a lot o knowledge in this area, but I do recognize and appreciate good sound when I hear it in person. My media room is going to become a properly insulated room in my basement, in a stand alone home.
Great review. How would they compare to the Goldenear SUpersub X?
Good question.
Hey Shane are those baseboard heaters that run along the sides of your HT?
I have 2 of them and don't regret it for a second.

Great review as usual! Which VNC app are you using for the trinnov?
VNC viewer.
Shane and Shane followers, if you could budget for two SB 3k or a single PB 3k, which option would you go with for a predominant Home theater 7.x.4 Setup. Music is entirely secondary. Thanks
Which is better comparing this to the svs pb 3000
Do you think it would be wise to pair these with a Rel T9x?
I own 3 Sb 3000’s I love the size and the output is amazing
cant complain here those subs are hard to beat for a compact setup,
i got a sb 1000 and at 50 percent no bass the only way i get any is with the knob all the way up if i cant get my sonance fixed which sub you recommend? PB 2000 pro or vtf mk 2?
Hi SpareChange, my name is Courtney.
I've watched this review at least 5 times, I absolutely love this review.
I have a room 18'X36' as the living room opens up to the kitchen.
I just love the size of the sb3000, do you think they would fill my room with chest pounding bass? (Dual)
I'd personally go for the PB3000 or SB4000. You have a big space.
@@therealshaneleewhen it comes to spaces & rooms, is the listening area itself relevant or merely the amount of open space? For example my living room measures 11’ x 22’ with the couch 12’ back, but the front half of the room is open on the right side to a dinette space that itself is 11’ wide. Does that mean I have a 22’ x 22’ room, more or less? Trying to gauge whether a ported sub is necessary even at non-reference levels.
Would you recommend change two sb 1000 for one sb 3000?
I have one question. .... sb3000 or 1961 s? Differenze? Pressure? Thanks boys

Hi there Shane. I have a question for u and some advice please. I currently have two Pb 4000s but I don’t find them very articulate. A little one notey actually. I am strongly considering going to two rel 1508’s instead, or possibly 4. What do u think. You seem to love the Pb 3000s how do they compare to the 1508’s. Thanks for providing such great informative reviews over the years. I would absolutely luv you feedback on this. Take care.
1508's are awesome subs especially 4.
Hi Dave, are you use your sub for more than 100 huours?
I doubt I will get a reply but how do these compair to the PB2000PRO?
Good video! I’m thinking of buying dual SB3000 to replace my dual Epix subwoofers currently I have. Will that be overkill for family room home theater setup 5.2.4? Let me know.
Nah I'd go with four.

Hey Shane spare change would u try the klipsch spl150
With Cyber Monday deals coming...I only have room for 1 sub. I wanted to see which one out of the sb3000, PB3000, or the SB4000 would be ideal? These or the Arendal 1961 1s 2x?
Xtz 1x12 sealed or the svs sb3000?
Hey Shane, should Fury contain so much bass when machine guns firing? It doesn't sound natural, but tank cannon should contain much bass and that seems natural. I'd love to hear how your reference system bass sounds vs. sb 3000 review scenes. I own pb 2000 wih Denon avr-x3500h and I would like to hear the diff between how the movies should sound on reference system vs my setup.
You could always turn down the sub level. I recommend getting a Umik-1 and downloading REW (free) to check and calibrate your subs.
How do these compare to Rel T/9x ?
Are you going to do a review on the PB 3000.
I own a pair of sb 13 Ultras. Are they considered a step above these? I'm asking b/c there's been lots of pub regarding these having new coil designs. Also at what volume on the subs do you normally set them at when testing? Thx
I wouldn't upgrade. The only real difference is the app. Since everyone's speakers are different, your sub volume would be as well. What you should do is use a test track or phone subwoofer app and turn the sub up till you hear it and then down slowly until you don't. That would be about right.
These are some serious subs. I'm in the process of getting 2nd SB-3000. Plus, they passed the WAF, because she made me return the PB-4000 due to the size.
As long as I'm married there is no chance in hell I'm getting huge sub. Unless we divorce, but that's not happening lol.
@Jason Holt that's a shame what happened
@Jason Holt you gonna love and be blown away with the 3000s I have the pb2000 pros and these subs are wicked I'm now watching bright burn on hulu and the lfe is insane wait til you watch midway on those its awesome on the pros the 3000s are even more awesome....lol tell wifey shes gonna be very impressed lol no more wanna go to the movies when ever they decide to open you got your got yourself some bad ass subs coming
@Jason Holt today's the big day for your subs isnt it jason I know your happy lol you gonna be even more happy when you get them hooked up
Get it if you can you'll be amazed
Hey Shane, are you keeping both of these for the front of your theater?
Nope.
have the sb13 and although it's precise and tactile and the response is quick . I feel that is good for Music but for Movies You need 15 Hertz and below . 20 just does not cut it for home theater. And to pressurize a 2000 c feet room these subs won't cut it. They just don't hit hard enough. I say Sb 16 it's probably the way to go.
Got duals too mine move 100x more then yours did in that video I reckon they slam for a small subwoofer but I did have a single pb3000 and I notice more head room at loud volumes with movies. I will be going back to Pb soon , sb is good but not as good at the Pb
Good to know. I keep watching reviews on the SB3000 in consideration of replacing my PB2000 ( I like the the smaller profile). My gut and everything I see on line tells me that for movies you need ports to really move the air.
You should review the sealed hsu 15s
Possibly
Hopefully they drop a sb-3000 super before my upgrade credit expires.
I used to be an SVS loyalist. Then recently I was introduced to Power Sound Audio.
American made subs made by a former SVS founder. PSA crushes SVS!!!!
Power sound audio is good, but far as crushing ..nope
I take that back bud, PSA makes great subs
Bud Clark you ain't lying about Power Sound Audio but SVS still rocks for people who can't afford the top subs at PSA. PSA doesn't have anything small for those living room or bedroom setups.

Bobbie Breese skip jl. Overpriced and way less performance when compared to jtr, funk, psa and rythmik audio. Jl dosent even come close
