The funny thing about Bird, is he did so much talking on the court, that today he has disappeared from the face of the planet. He's not on social media, he doesn't give interviews, he's not a guest on sports media, he's nowhere to be found. WTF??? 🤣🤣 Larry Legend.

I wonder if they cheered him on like saying yeah take the rookie to school. I can just see it magic saying okay so it's agreed by committee Larry Bird's getting the first nine shots. If you really think about it, Bird didn't just make his teammates better... His trash talk made other players strive to be better... IMO that's a big part of how he and Magic saved the NBA!

How the style of play had changed to many players being more about "me getting mine" and standing out individually, and not caring about the team or championships.

You might want to check info on Wilt Chamberlain. And remember, unlike today, they used to play defense, hold peoples jersey’s, etc. and Bird was more interested in having all people on the team score, versus individual numbers. His average pts per game could have been way higher if he had wanted to.

Being 20 years older that Bird, I saw much more of the previous players than him. Bill Russll and John Havlicek were my guys, and John won 8 championships, while Bill won 11, and didn't find it necessary to behave like aholes! Havlicek would have run Birds big mouth out of breath! Bird was a great player, but he needed to be shut down!
