This is the first time that I have watched one of your lessons and it was fantastic. I really learnt something that I have not found on any other site on this subject. Thank you
Thank you very much, this is a great lesson, I have been studying Italian for 6 months and you really help me. I want to go to Italy and speak to real Italians like you. My people are from Campobasso
I found Valentina purely by accident on youtube. This is oustandingg and the best I have seen in terms of explaining how to grasp the Italian Language. I'm intermmediate at best but I expect this to help me move forward. Meravigliosa Valentina!

THIS, is a very good teacher. I knew this, and some others I've just had a look at, of yours. Everything, including the typing out, the length of the clip, eccetera, is spot on. It shows a high level of understanding, is the best way I can put it. Allora....brava.
Oh! For the first time this all makes sense......and also the video on articulated prepositions. You speak with great clarity with lots of examples. Quite wonderful. Thank you!

Does the rule apply for past tenses and also for negative sentences? Would it be all right to have another dedicated video for this if a further explanation is needed? Grazie mille. ❤
Buona domanda, Cherry! The rule is exactly the same whatever tense you are using and also for negative questions, eg: "Che libri hai letto?" - what books did you read? "Che libri non hai letto?" - what books you didn't read?
Great video. Is there anything else one needs to know in order to correctly say exclamations such as “How beautiful!” or “How interesting!” Grazie tanto
Ottima spiegazione! Molti studenti han problemi con la differenza tra che/che cosa e quale. Non è semplice capire perché chiediamo “qual è il tuo numero di telefono” per esempio…
Thank you for the explanation Valentina!! I also noticed while watching shows dubbed in Italian, when the character is exclaiming “what?” It’s always “ Che Cosa?” Is there a particular reason why it’s always che cosa and not “che” or “cosa”?
Thanks for this. I always thought the use of "cosa" as a question word as being a short form of "che cosa" and meaning "what thing", so I wouldn't use "Cosa" before a noun because the noun makes the 'cosa' redundant. I guess in English you couldn't say "What thing book are you reading" whereas you might possibly say "What thing are you reading?"
There is not a specific reason, it's just that we use Present Tense in a different (and broader) way than in English (e.g. we can also use present tense for future events or, as in this case, for something we are doing in that moment).

a volte sembra che venga usata anche la parola 'qual', ad es. qual è la differenza. va bene usare 'che' anche qui?
You are very good techer

@@ItalianTeacherValentina Wow! How simple! Am so happy that this makes practice much easier! Grazie di cuore! ❤️
Great video. Is there anything else one needs to know in order to correctly say exclamations such as “How beautiful!” or “How interesting!” Grazie tanto
Good question, Kevin! Just that we don't say "How+ adjective" (as in "how beautiful") but "What+adjective" (so> "che bello!")
Ottima spiegazione! Molti studenti han problemi con la differenza tra che/che cosa e quale. Non è semplice capire perché chiediamo “qual è il tuo numero di telefono” per esempio…
Grazie, Sara! E sì, questo è uno di quegli argomenti in cui si vedono le maggiori differenze tra italiano ed inglese.
@@ItalianTeacherValentina è difficile anche per i miei studenti finlandesi
Great video❤ thank you so much
You are the best. I stay with CHE 😂
Thank you for the explanation Valentina!! I also noticed while watching shows dubbed in Italian, when the character is exclaiming “what?” It’s always “ Che Cosa?” Is there a particular reason why it’s always che cosa and not “che” or “cosa”?
No particular reason, and in theory "Che" or "Cosa" would work as well, but probably "Che cosa?" in this specific context is slightly more common.
Bravo!
Thank you. What about quale? Can we say "Quale libro leggi?" o "Cuale cibo mangi"?
This deserves a dedicated video, I've already added it to my list 😉 Meanwhile, "quale" translates (mostly) to "which" in English
Grazie molto ma
Really useful!
Can I ask why the progressive isn't necessary?
There is not a specific reason, it's just that we use Present Tense in a different (and broader) way than in English (e.g. we can also use present tense for future events or, as in this case, for something we are doing in that moment).
I really want to learn Italian, I need your help
I prefer che cosa . It reminds me of my mother
❤
