Grazie Valentina. I'm fluent in Spanish and "tempo" ("tiempo" in Spanish) is used for "weather" too. I never knew that it was short for "tempo meteorologico!" I started studying the language 30 years ago and now have a university degree in Spanish, and none of my instructors ever mentioned that "tiempo" was actually short for something! We just accepted that it meant both "time" and "weather" for some strange reason. Best wishes from Dallas, Texas!
Italian is a beautiful language I just hope I can give the language justice when I try to pronounce it. I'm enjoying learning with you , thank you! ❤ grazie!

Buongiorno caro Valentina, grazie mille por tu lesson. The video is really interesting and helpful. Learning Italian with you it's such a pleasure! ❤️☀️😁 Warm and best wishes to you and your family!❤️
You are a rockstar! 😎 I am watching a weather forecast in Italian. I found 3BMeteo channel that publishes short videos every day as well as longer, in-depth ones once a week and another channel with exclusively in-depth videos for the entire Europe. I wanted to focus on something relevant and something I know, that is not about coffee or pizza, but it is a struggle 😭
Even in Latin the word for time also means weather (tempus). It makes sense that the ancients would think that way since the weather varies with time --summer, fall, winter... Also, the only "clock" most people had was the sun in the sky.
Hi Valentina! Thank you for your video. Why did you “not” say, leri era davveno piovoso???? Is that not correct??? Thank you!!!! I am a beginner. I will be in Sicily this fall and I pray I will be able to communicate with businesses and strangers, or new friends while I am there for 3 months. I will be going to language school while there. An amazing challenge for me. Grazie mille! Susan from Pompano Beach, Florida 😊
Ciao Susan! No, it's perfectly correct, I just didn't happen to use that specific example. In bocca al lupo e buon divertimento in Sicilia! @@ItalianTeacherValentina Thank you so much!! 👍 I am doing Duolingo every day for probably 2 to 3 hours. I have been doing this for 183 days. I’m going to Sicily, I will be taking Italian language course there for three months. This has been a lifelong dream to learn how to speak Italian. I will also be going to see where my grandparents came from, 104 years ago!!! 😘😘😘😘
Yes, that's another way to talk about weather, but has a much more restricted application (esesentially just "fa caldo/fa freddo/fa bello/ fa brutto"). I'll make a video on that too in the future.
It's a different endind that depends on the subject. "Ero" is 1st person singular (I) and "era" is 3rd person singular (he/sheit). That's what we do in Italian when we conjugate verbs. I explain this concept in this video: ruclips.net/video/Y7LrlV3gUWg/видео.html And in this other video, you can learn the different conjugations of "Essere", including this specific on, called "Imperfetto" ruclips.net/video/Ek4EA__eBu0/видео.html
No, it's just another way to talk about weather. However, it has a more restricted application (just "fa bello/brutto" or "fa caldo/freddo", so this is why I recommend starting with the structure I explained in this video.
You're messing up "è " , which is stressed and means "is", third person singular of the verb to be ( for example he is = egli è). Whereas unstressed "e" is just a cojunction which means "and".

I hear phrases like “fa bel tempo” or “fa brutto oggi”. Are these dialect?
No , it's good Italian . Not dialect.
No, it's just another way to talk about weather. However, it has a more restricted application (just "fa bello/brutto" or "fa caldo/freddo", so this is why I recommend starting with the structure I explained in this video.
